The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 705
“Okay.”
Celeste and Jordyn quickly got into the car.
Jordyn waved at Trevor through the window. Only after the car drove out of the villa and Trevor’s figure disappeared from sight did she finally sit back properly.
Then her eyes drifted toward Celeste.
There had been a lot going on at YodaVision lately, so Celeste had been busy all day. On top of that, her period cramps were making her feel drained, leaving her complexion pale and tired.
Jordyn noticed it immediately.
Seeing how exhausted Celeste looked, yet realizing she had still come to pick her up personally, instantly lifted Jordyn’s mood.
She couldn’t help softly calling out, “Mom…”
“Mm?”
That gentle response alone was enough to make Jordyn smile again.
“Nothing. Just focus on driving.”
“Alright.”
That night, the Rodriguez family worked together to prepare a huge spread of Youtopian specialties.
The atmosphere in the house was lively, almost like celebrating the New Year, and Jordyn’s laughter filled the entire evening.
The next day, after dropping Jordyn off at school, Celeste returned to YodaVision.
A visitor had come to discuss a potential collaboration and had specifically requested to meet with Celeste personally.
Over the past year, Celeste’s abilities had become widely recognized. So when Matthias heard the client wanted to work directly with her, he didn’t think much of it and went off to handle other matters.
By the time Celeste entered the reception room, the guests were already waiting inside.
Several young, elegantly dressed women sat in the room.
Celeste politely extended her hand toward one of them.
“Ms. Lackspur, I presume? Nice to meet you.”
Narcissa Lackspur lounged casually on the couch, her gaze slowly sweeping over Celeste.
A few seconds later, a smile finally appeared on her strikingly beautiful face.
Only then did she set down her coffee cup.
She didn’t bother standing. Remaining seated, she gave Celeste a perfunctory handshake.
“So you’re Celeste Rodriguez?”
Celeste calmly took a seat.
“Yes. Ms. Lackspur, you’ve heard of me before?”
Narcissa smiled faintly.
“Not personally. But I have heard about you.”
There wasn’t the slightest hint of friendliness in her tone.
Celeste’s expression remained unchanged.
“I heard Lackspur Corporation is interested in collaborating with us on a project. May I ask what your requirements are?”
“Requirements? Of course we have them.”
Narcissa didn’t elaborate further. Instead, she casually gestured for the person beside her to hand over the documents while she lazily picked up her coffee again.
Celeste accepted the file and quickly skimmed through it.
A moment later, she set it back down.
“The scope outlined here falls within our capabilities, and the pricing is reasonable.”
However, the document only covered a general framework.
Narcissa placed her coffee cup down and gave a subtle look to the woman beside her.
The young woman immediately began discussing the project’s details and core requirements with Celeste.
The conversation lasted more than ten minutes.
Throughout the discussion, Celeste noticed Narcissa watching her the entire time, a faint, knowing smile lingering on her lips.
But Celeste ignored it completely.
When the discussion finally ended, the woman beside Narcissa gave her a subtle nod.
Narcissa dabbed lightly at the corner of her mouth with a tissue and smiled.
“Ms. Rodriguez, I’d heard about your talent before. Now that I’ve seen it myself, you really do live up to the reputation.”
The words sounded complimentary.
But Celeste clearly caught the trace of mockery hidden in Narcissa’s eyes.
By now, she understood that this visitor hadn’t come with friendly intentions.
Celeste knew of the Lackspur family. But most of their business operations had shifted overseas in recent years, and they rarely appeared in Baumord anymore.
Because of that, she knew very little about them—or about Narcissa herself.
This was their first meeting, and Celeste had no idea how she might have offended her.
Pretending not to notice the sarcasm, Celeste calmly moved to end the conversation.
“You flatter me, Ms. Lackspur. I have another meeting shortly, so I won’t be able to continue this discussion today.
“If Lackspur Corporation is genuinely interested in working with YodaVision, please prepare more detailed materials, and we can continue discussing it next time.”
