The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 706
“Not at all. I still have a long way to go compared to you, Ms. Lackspur,” Celeste replied calmly.
The Lackspur family had invested heavily in this project, yet Narcissa didn’t hesitate to offend a potential business partner.
If anyone was being reckless here, it definitely wasn’t Celeste.
Narcissa seemed to read her thoughts. She smiled faintly and said, “Ms. Rodriguez, you’re very confident. You’re right—YodaVision is a strong choice domestically. But we’re not limited to your company alone.”
With that, she stood up.
“Since YodaVision apparently isn’t capable of handling our project, I won’t take up any more of your time. Ms. Rodriguez, until next time.”
Celeste had no interest in continuing the pointless conversation.
“Take care,” she replied evenly.
That afternoon, after Matthias returned, he asked about the potential collaboration with Lackspur Corporation.
Celeste briefly told him what had happened.
“So Narcissa has a problem with you? She really came all the way here just to stir up trouble?”
“That’s what it felt like.”
The Yoder family and the Lackspur family had never interacted much before, so Matthias didn’t know them particularly well.
Still, he understood the general standing of both families.
And because he knew Celeste’s social circle well, he was certain she had never had any prior connection with Narcissa.
Then he suddenly remembered something.
“I heard Narcissa spent most of these past few years studying in Andostan.”
He paused before continuing thoughtfully, “Could she be close to Wynn? Did she come here specifically to make things difficult for you because of her? Or maybe because of Trevor?”
“I think it’s the first one.”
Matthias let out a short laugh.
“That’s insane. This Narcissa really isn’t thinking straight if she’s willing to offend a potential partner over some fake sisterhood loyalty.
“Honestly, if the Lackspur family is letting someone this emotional handle a project this huge, working with them would probably be a nightmare anyway. It’s probably better if we stay out of it.”
Celeste hummed lightly in agreement.
The next day, Celeste and Matthias had a lunch meeting with a business partner.
Unexpectedly, the moment they arrived, they ran into Wynn and Narcissa.
Matthias crossed his arms and glanced at Celeste.
“Looks like we guessed right. The Lackspur heiress really is close to Wynn.”
Narcissa and Wynn noticed them as well.
Wynn remained expressionless, acting as if she hadn’t seen them at all.
Narcissa, however, curled her lips into a deliberately provocative smile and even waved at them before walking into the restaurant alongside Wynn.
“Seriously? What’s wrong with her?” Matthias muttered in disbelief.
“Let’s go in,” Celeste said calmly.
During lunch, their business partner happened to bring up the Lackspur family.
Because of their previous corporate restructuring, most of Lackspur Corporation’s business operations had shifted overseas.
So their sudden return to Baumord had attracted a lot of attention within their circle.
Naturally, the conversation soon turned to the major project the Lackspur family was currently developing.
“I heard they came back fully prepared,” the partner said.
“They already secured a collaboration with a team from Andostan, and that team arrived yesterday. Apparently, it’s the famous Team p.MAI.”
Both Celeste and Matthias were familiar with Team p.MAI.
It was a world-class team that had worked with numerous international giants and had an extremely strong reputation in the industry.
The Lackspur family had clearly gone all in on this project.
But if Team p.MAI had already arrived yesterday, then the partnership had obviously been finalized long ago.
Which meant there had never been any real need for YodaVision in the first place.
In other words, Narcissa’s visit to YodaVision the previous day under the guise of discussing a collaboration had been nothing more than a deliberate provocation from the very beginning.
