The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 689
The next morning, after handling a few matters at YodaVision, Celeste went to Fleming Group with Kieran and the others.
It had been a while since their last visit. As soon as they arrived, someone couldn’t resist sharing a bit of gossip.
“Did you hear about Mr. Fleming and Ms. Locket a while back?”
Celeste lowered her gaze slightly. “I did.”
“After that incident, I heard their relationship got even better. In fact, these past few mornings, Mr. Fleming has been bringing Ms. Locket to the office with him. She’s upstairs in his office right now.”
Celeste only smiled, offering no response.
After a bit more casual chatter, they got down to work.
At noon, Celeste went out for lunch with Lazarus and the others. Just as they stepped out of the car, she noticed someone getting out of another vehicle nearby—Lincoln.
Before she could react, Lazarus had already seen him as well.
While ordinary employees might not recognize Lincoln, Lazarus certainly did. He immediately stepped forward. “Mr. Fleming, hello. It’s been a while.”
Lincoln recognized him and shook his hand with a polite smile. “Ah, Lazarus. Hello.”
Only then did his gaze shift—and land on Celeste.
He paused briefly before smiling. “Cel, long time no see.”
Celeste nodded. “…Mr. Lincoln.”
A faint pause followed her choice of address, but Lincoln didn’t comment on it. He simply reached out and patted her shoulder lightly.
“You look thinner. I heard you’ve been busy with work. Take care of yourself—don’t push too hard.”
“I will. Thank you, Mr. Lincoln.”
Lazarus froze for a moment, clearly surprised that Celeste knew him.
Just then, the person Lincoln was meeting arrived. Seeing that, Celeste said, “We won’t disturb you any further, Mr. Lincoln. We’ll take our leave.”
Lincoln nodded. “Let’s have a meal together when you have time.”
“Sure,” Celeste replied.
It was nothing more than a polite response. She had no intention of following through.
The person Lincoln was meeting was clearly someone important, so Lazarus and the others didn’t linger.
Only after they had walked some distance away did Lazarus speak.
“Ms. Rodriguez… you know Mr. Fleming? You seem quite close.”
Putting everything else aside, that was Trevor’s father. Yet Celeste had addressed him as “Mr. Lincoln,” not “Mr. Fleming.”
That small distinction carried weight.
And from their exchange just now, it was obvious their acquaintance wasn’t recent.
But then—why did Celeste and Trevor seem so distant?
Even when Trevor had shown signs of interest before, the two of them had never truly appeared close. It was as if there was always something keeping them apart.
The others, including Kieran, had already caught on after hearing Lazarus’s words.
After all, it was common knowledge that the Fleming family’s background was far from ordinary.
Unable to hold back, someone finally asked, “Mr. Collet… does that mean he is our boss’s—?”
Lazarus nodded. “That’s right. He’s Mr. Fleming’s father.”
A quiet gasp spread through the group.
While the others were still processing the revelation, Kieran’s gaze shifted—settling quietly on Celeste.
