An Understated Dominance Chapter 2365 – “Based on our investigation, Black Kong was killed by the Saint of the Mystic Arts Order, while Bill Wolf and Edward Adam were taken down by a man named Dustin,” Tyson explained, revealing the details.
The loss of these three masters was a huge blow to the Pantheon. Their original plan had been twofold: to win the martial arts competition and weaken the spirit of the Dragonmarsh warriors, while also secretly stealing Dragonmarsh’s treasures to cut off their good fortune.
Unfortunately, the plan had already fallen apart. Not only did they lose the three masters, but the Pantheon’s reputation suffered as well.
“I’ve heard of the Saint of the Mystic Arts Order, but who is Dustin?” Bear King Bailey asked, his face dark with anger.
He had investigated Abigail Robinson, the Saint of the Mystic Arts Order, who ranked second on the Dragonmarsh Legendary List. It made sense that Black Kong couldn’t defeat someone of her caliber. But Dustin? That name was new to him.
Father Adam, also known as Angel Dust, was as powerful as a Dragonmarsh Grandmaster when he fully unleashed his abilities. Even the Saint might struggle against him. So how could an unknown person like Dustin kill two of his top men?
“Dustin’s background is unclear. We haven’t found any solid information yet,” Tyson admitted. As he spoke, he suddenly felt a chill down his spine, as though a beast was watching him. Nervously, he added, “But I’ve met Dustin before, and I suggest we try to win him over.”
“Win him over?” Bear King Bailey’s interest was piqued. “How do you plan to do that?”
“Dustin’s ability to defeat two of our masters proves he’s strong. If we offer him a large sum of money and bring him into the Pantheon, it would benefit us greatly,” Tyson said respectfully.
Since Tyson couldn’t defeat Dustin, he thought it was better to make him an ally than an enemy. This was a common strategy for the Pantheon.
“It would be ideal if we could recruit him, but are you sure he’ll join us?” Bear King Bailey asked with a thoughtful expression.
“Yes, Lord Bailey. I recently had a chance to secretly approach Dustin. At first, I thought of using him as a pawn to distract Sacred Wyrm Summit, but now it seems he’s worth more than that,” Tyson explained.
He was surprised to discover that the same Dustin who killed Father Adam was someone he had considered using as expendable just days earlier.
“Can we trust Dustin? What if he turns against us?” Bear King Bailey narrowed his eyes.
If Dustin made it to the top eight, the forces of Dragonmarsh would definitely try to win him over. Persuading him to betray Dragonmarsh would be difficult. And even if he agreed, could they truly trust him?
“Don’t worry, Lord Bailey. I’m confident I can bring Dustin to our side. As for trust…” Tyson smiled, pulling out a small bottle. “This is a special poison I developed for the masters of Dragonmarsh. Without the antidote, they’ll die of intestinal perforation within three days.”
“Excellent!” Bear King Bailey’s eyes lit up. “I didn’t realize you had a plan. It seems I was worried for nothing. Handle this well, and don’t let me down.”
Using poison to control Dragonmarsh warriors was indeed an effective method. After all, who wouldn’t fear death?
“Understood! I’ll take care of it right away,” Tyson said, bowing before leaving.
Dustin’s strength made him far more valuable than the three fallen masters, and no matter the cost, they needed to recruit him into the Pantheon.
…
That night, the cold wind bit through the air. After dinner, Dustin was heading to his room when he was stopped at the door.
“Mr. Rhys!” Dustin turned at the familiar voice and saw Tyson approaching with a smile. “Do you remember me?”
“Mr. Houle?” Dustin recognized him quickly.
“Mr. Rhys, may I have a word with you?” Tyson asked in a low voice, glancing around.
“Please, come in,” Dustin replied, understanding the situation. He opened the door and gestured for Tyson to enter.
Tyson stepped inside, and Dustin followed, closing the door behind him. He poured two cups of tea and handed one to Tyson. Smiling, Dustin asked, “Mr. Houle, what brings you here so late?”
“First, congratulations on making it to the top eight,” Tyson said. Then, his tone shifted. “But today, you disrupted the Pantheon’s plans.”
“Oh? How so?” Dustin asked, pretending to be clueless.
“To be honest, the two foreign players you defeated today were from the Pantheon,” Tyson explained quietly.
“Really? I had no idea,” Dustin replied, feigning surprise. “If I had known, I wouldn’t have been so hard on them.”
He sighed and shook his head, putting on an expression of regret.
And just like that, Dustin’s performance as the best actor was confirmed.
