The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 692
Just as Celeste was wrapping up her discussion with Matthias, Trevor called Jordyn.
She picked up immediately, her voice bright. “Dad!”
After chatting with him for a while, she turned and saw that Celeste had finished her call. “Mom, do you want to talk to Dad for a moment?”
“No need.” Celeste stood and picked up her glass. “I’ll go downstairs to get some water. You carry on.”
“Okay.”
…
Downstairs, the rest of the Rodriguez family were chatting cheerfully in the living room.
Seeing her, Jamie quickly asked, “Celeste, we were talking about going out tomorrow. Do you want to come with us?”
Celeste happened to be free. “Sure.”
“Then… what about Jo?”
They knew Jordyn already had plans with Trevor. But since this outing had only just been decided, it felt odd not to ask.
“I’ll tell her.”
“Alright.”
Celeste sat down with them and joined in planning the route and choosing a place to eat.
When she went back upstairs, Jordyn was still on the phone—but it was no longer Trevor. It was Wynn.
“I know, Wynn. I’ll go to bed right after this. You and Dad should rest early too. Good night.”
Celeste paused by the door, waiting until Jordyn hung up before walking in. She handed her a glass of water.
Jordyn accepted it with a bright smile. “Thanks, Mom!”
Celeste said, “We just made plans to go out with your Granny and the others tomorrow. Do you want to come along?”
“Oh? You’re going out too? Where are you going?”
Celeste briefly told her.
Jordyn’s eyes lit up—but when Celeste asked again, she lowered her gaze.
“I’d really like to go… but I’ve already promised Dad.”
In other words, she still chose Trevor.
Celeste didn’t point it out. “That’s okay. We’ll go together next time.”
Jordyn visibly relaxed, smiling again. “I’ll definitely go with you next time.”
Celeste only gave a soft hum in response.
…
The next morning, the car Trevor had sent arrived early to pick up Jordyn.
Celeste didn’t mind, but Betty couldn’t help feeling a little upset.
After Jordyn left, Celeste and the others packed up and prepared to head out.
At that moment, Martha called Betty. When she heard they were going on an outing, she grew interested and said she wanted to join them.
After she arrived, she didn’t mention Trevor. But when she noticed Jordyn wasn’t there, her brows knit slightly.
Perhaps not wanting to spoil the mood, she said nothing.
The spring weather was bright and pleasant. After a morning of enjoying the scenery, Martha’s mood improved considerably.
At noon, as they entered a restaurant, she remarked, “It really is nice to come out like this. I feel so much better not seeing all those troublesome matters.”
Though she didn’t mention Trevor directly, everyone understood what she meant.
Only after speaking did Martha seem to realize her words might have been inappropriate.
