Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3135

The Ludendorff family’s pillars of strength were nearly gone. Prescott, Garal, Cyril—dead. Only Ramon remained, but he had betrayed the family, abandoning Throne City without a second thought. Ramon wasn’t dead, yet Alonzo cursed him silently, wishing a fate far worse than death upon his treacherous soul.

The situation was dire. Fear and despair clung to the hearts of those left behind like a suffocating fog.

“Let’s go!” Alonzo’s words were simple, but they carried the weight of command. With that, he led the remaining members toward the towering city walls.

“In this battle,” he said, his voice low but resolute, “either Andrew fails, or the Ludendorff family’s century of honor ends in one blow! How you act, how you endure, how you fight… it all comes down to what’s in your hearts!”

The words were few, not grand or stirring—but something in them ignited the fighters’ souls. Even the demoralized, frightened nobles felt a spark of courage. They knew all too clearly what awaited them if Throne City fell—a fate too horrific to imagine.

In this fight, they could only hold fast and pour everything they had into every swing of a sword, every clash of shield, every heartbeat. Anything less would bring consequences worse than death itself.

Alonzo climbed the walls of Throne City, the wind tugging at his cloak, and gazed toward the horizon. Two armies approached, relentless and precise.

The attackers had chosen their route perfectly. Abyss City lay behind Throne City, providing them a strategic advantage no army could ignore. Even compared to Aurora City, this position was better. To be attacked from one’s rear—it was the most dangerous and the most telling scenario of all.

Alonzo ground his teeth. “If he wants to force the Ludendorff family into a corner, then he can’t blame us for fighting to the death!”

Beside him, an officer pointed toward the approaching formations. “Lord Alonzo, the army on the left is Andrew’s original force. The one on the right… his elite troops, the Highland Tribe. Born for war—they are lethal beyond measure.”

Trembling groans rose from the crowd around him. Alonzo felt a surge of anger but restrained himself. There was no use berating these men; he, too, felt as if the world itself were crumbling, his entire empire collapsing piece by piece.

One elder spoke hesitantly. “Sir, shouldn’t we try to call for support from the vampires and werewolves? Their goal is simple—they want slaves and resources. If the family promises them first dibs, they might help us stabilize the situation!”

Alonzo’s reply was cold and sharp. “It’s useless. The Cathedral blocks the center. For the werewolves and vampires to reach us, they’d have to break through the Cathedral’s army. Do you honestly think that’s possible?”

A sudden tremor ran across the horizon. Alonzo’s grip tightened on his heavy sword. He knew the attack was about to begin.

Between the two advancing armies, Andrew stood atop a massive war vehicle, commanding the battlefield like a general born to it.

Throne City truly lived up to its reputation as the greatest stronghold in the Wastelands. Its walls soared three hundred feet into the air, impervious to even the heaviest artillery. Black granite rose like the muscles of titans, stacked layer upon layer, silent and immovable.

A frontal assault? It was like trying to climb into the sky itself.

But some things had to be done.

Without a word wasted, Andrew’s hand shot out, giving the command that would decide everything.

    “Begin!”
