Chapter 2386
“What?!” Easton’s face went pale as he saw the Soul-Fixing Talisman explode. He hadn’t expected a sword to suddenly fall from the sky and disrupt his spell at such a crucial moment.
How did this sword appear without him noticing?
Before Easton could react, the black sword moved once more.
With a quiet swoosh, it seemed almost alive, twisting in the air before striking the Mountain-Moving Talisman with incredible speed.
“Bang!”
The Mountain-Moving Talisman shattered, scattering into tiny yellow lights that quickly faded.
Dustin felt the tension leave his body as the pressure lifted. Slowly, he opened his hand, and the black sword circled around him before settling neatly in his grasp.
“That talisman truly lives up to its reputation,” Dustin said with a hint of a smile, though his eyes grew serious. While the Mountain-Moving Talisman hadn’t entirely immobilized him, it had slowed him down enough that he might not have been able to dodge the Soul-Fixing Talisman.
He knew the Soul-Fixing Talisman’s power too well. Despite his confidence in his own abilities, he didn’t want to take unnecessary risks, which is why he drew his sword. It signaled that he was no longer taking the battle lightly.
“Still, you managed to break it,” Easton said, his earlier smugness replaced by a look of grave seriousness. Even though Dustin hadn’t unleashed his full strength, Easton felt an overwhelming sense of danger, unlike anything he had faced before.
When he’d battled Sam Dawson and even when confronting the Tardif Sect’s treasure, the Thousand Machine Box, Easton had remained calm. But now, standing against Dustin, he felt like he was facing a force of nature, a predator from a forgotten age.
“I believe you have one last move—the Eight Diagrams Talisman,” Dustin said, raising his sword. “Use it now while you still have the chance.”
The difference between having a sword and being unarmed was immense. While Dustin’s fists couldn’t break the Golden Light Curse quickly, the Celestial Blade in his hand—a top-tier Divine Weapon—could easily cut through energy shields like this.
“In that case, I won’t hold back!” Easton said, no longer wasting time with words. He knew Dustin was far stronger than Sam Dawson, and if he didn’t act fast, he might lose any chance to turn the tide.
“Heaven, Earth, Thunder, Wind, Water, Fire, Mountain, Lake!” Easton chanted as he moved his hands, releasing eight glowing talismans into the air, where they spun rapidly.
A fierce wind howled through the arena, kicking up dust and rocks as powerful energy pulsed around them.
“Look at that! Easton’s using the Bagua Talisman again!”
“Last time, Easton defeated Sam Dawson with that talisman. Dustin’s in real trouble now!”
“Dustin’s done well to get this far, but no one’s beaten the Bagua Talisman yet!”
The audience buzzed with excitement, their eyes fixed on the swirling talismans. They knew how powerful the Eight Diagrams Talisman was. Even Sam Dawson, with his Tardif Sect weapon, couldn’t withstand its might. And now, Dustin faced the same challenge.
Penelope Solace, who had been silent until now, broke the tension with a cutting remark, “So, which is stronger—Dustin’s sword or the Eight Diagrams Talisman?”
“If it’s a sudden attack, the sword has the edge,” said Alloy Marshall, squinting as he watched the duel. “But Dustin made the mistake of giving Easton the chance to use his talisman, and now that advantage is gone.”
“This isn’t arrogance; it’s confidence,” Cyrus replied calmly. “Facing the Bagua Talisman so composedly shows how much faith Dustin has in his blade. That’s the mark of a true swordsman.”
“Confidence? Arrogance, more like,” Alloy scoffed. “A real swordsman doesn’t give their enemy time to cast a spell. That’s just foolish.”
“You clearly don’t understand the honor or pride of a swordsman,” Cyrus said dismissively. “That’s why you’ll never reach their level.”
“Haha, honor, pride—what nonsense,” Alloy sneered. “In a fight, it’s all about who’s left standing. Giving your opponent a chance to strike back is plain stupidity.”
As the two men argued, the battle on the ring intensified once more.
Easton’s Bagua Talisman was fully charged, its power even greater than before!
