Chapter 2384
As the blue arc of electricity approached, Dustin didn’t dodge. Instead, he summoned his mystical energy to form a spear of pure energy and thrust it directly at the incoming attack.
He wanted to test the strength of Easton Foster’s thunder technique.
With a loud “Bang!”, the energy spear and the lightning collided with a powerful impact. Sparks flew, and the air was filled with the roar of thunder as energy crackled and surged.
Both attacks were evenly matched, neutralizing each other. Neither side gained the upper hand.
Undeterred, Dustin and Easton continued their fierce battle, exchanging blow after blow. The sound of explosions echoed around them.
“I can’t believe Dustin can hold his own against Easton Foster like this!” someone in the audience exclaimed.
“He’s strong, but it’s not surprising he’s fighting like this,” another replied.
“You don’t get it,” a third person chimed in. “Dustin’s real strength lies in his sword techniques. The fact that he can keep up with Easton, who’s using his Golden Light Curse and thunder techniques, without even drawing his sword, shows just how advanced his skills are!”
“Easton would have to use his magic talismans to gain an edge, but they’re so powerful they could backfire,” added another spectator.
The audience watched intently, whispering among themselves. They all knew that neither Dustin nor Easton had used their ultimate techniques yet. Though their fight was intense, it seemed like a true winner wouldn’t be decided without a decisive move or a test of their cultivation levels.
“This young man, Dustin, is remarkably skilled. I’ve never heard of him before,” said Katy Foster, narrowing his eyes as he scrutinized Dustin, trying to determine his background.
“Some talents appear out of nowhere,” Alloy Marshall commented thoughtfully. “I’ve looked into him; his identity is shrouded in mystery, and he seems to have a significant background.”
The Celestial Alliance’s vast intelligence network had found surprisingly little about Dustin. The gaps in his story suggested a powerful force was concealing his true origins, possibly tied to the royal family.
“I wonder which master trained him?” Katy pondered aloud.
“He used a sword once during the fight,” Cyrus Hadley noted.
“So what? Lots of people here use swords,” Alloy Marshall said dismissively.
“True,” Cyrus continued, “but when he wielded that sword, I sensed the aura of Seth Hughes.”
“Seth Hughes, the Sword Immortal?” Alloy Marshall’s eyes widened in shock. “I thought he died in that legendary battle against Alaric Drakon outside Oakvale.”
That battle was so intense that it altered the rankings of the world’s greatest fighters. Both Seth Hughes and Alaric Drakon were believed to have perished, their clash echoing through history. The mere mention of Seth Hughes still sent ripples through the martial world.
“Even though Seth Hughes is gone, his legacy might still live on,” Cyrus said firmly. “I’ve dedicated my life to studying swordsmanship. When I saw Dustin’s sword technique, it was unmistakably similar to Hughes’s. It might not be as refined yet, but it’s powerful.”
“You think Dustin could be Seth Hughes’s disciple?” Katy Foster asked, her interest piqued.
“There’s a high probability,” Cyrus confirmed. He had once crossed swords with Seth Hughes and recognized the same sword energy in Dustin. Although Dustin’s skills weren’t yet at Hughes’s level, they carried the same unmistakable essence.
“Seth Hughes leaving behind a successor—it’s a relief to know his swordsmanship lives on,” Alloy Marshall said with a hint of admiration.
“Master Foster,” Cyrus advised, “if Dustin draws his sword, your disciple’s chances of winning will drop significantly. It would be best to use the magic talisman now to gain the upper hand before he has the chance.”
Katy Foster smiled calmly. “The outcome depends on their abilities in the ring. Whether Easton wins or loses, it’s their battle to fight. We can only watch and see.”
Alloy Marshall then looked at Cyrus with a smirk. “Master Hadley, could it be that you’re feeling a bit intimidated knowing that Dustin might be Seth Hughes’s student?”
Cyrus gave him a cold stare. “What are you implying?”
“Well, if I remember correctly, you once had a duel with Seth Hughes, didn’t you?” Alloy Marshall said, a teasing note in his voice. “I heard that you didn’t come out on top. Now that you’re faced with his successor, it’s only natural to be a little worried, right?”
Cyrus’s expression darkened. “Humph! Whether or not Dustin is Hughes’s disciple, it makes no difference. When he faces Glenn, he’ll still taste defeat!”
He added with confidence, “Not just Dustin, even your disciple Fenley doesn’t stand a chance against Glenn. Mark my words, Glenn will outshine them all. Just wait and see!”
