An Understated Dominance Chapter 2371 – The top eight contestants were all extraordinary talents, selected from thousands, and they naturally attracted a lot of attention.
Just showing up created a buzz, especially for Glenn Hadley, Fenley Hudson, and Abigail Robinson, who were favorites to win.
In addition to the competition, a secret betting market had been set up. For many gamblers, the outcome would determine whether they won big or lost everything.
When Dustin and Grace arrived, most of the seats were already taken. As soon as people saw Dustin, many stood and applauded out of respect.
Though he wasn’t as famous as the top names on the Legendary List, his performance the previous day had been outstanding. He had defeated two foreign challengers, earning honor for the Dragonmarsh warriors and gaining widespread respect.
“Grace! Dr. Rhys! Over here!” Noemi called from the section reserved for Celestial Alliance members, waving them over with a smile. Her beauty, ranked fifth on the Beauty Rankings, made quite an impression on the nearby young men.
Dustin and Grace smiled and joined her, sitting in the spacious seats with a small table of snacks and fruit nearby.
“Dr. Rhys, today is the final battle. Are you confident about making the top three?” Noemi asked with a smile.
“I’ll do my best and leave the rest to fate,” Dustin replied.
“You have a great attitude,” Noemi said, smiling. “In these competitions, anything can happen, and no one knows the outcome until the very end.”
“Why hasn’t Mr. Hudson arrived yet? The draw is about to start,” Grace asked, looking around for Fenley Hudson, who had arrived early the previous day.
“Senior Brother Fenley went into seclusion last night. My father told us not to disturb him, so I don’t know how he’s doing,” Noemi explained.
She and her sister had tried to pick him up in the morning, but their father had stopped them, warning them to stay quiet.
“Seclusion now? Isn’t that risky? If he misses the game, he’ll lose by default,” Grace said, raising an eyebrow.
“If you miss the draw, someone else can do it for you, but if you miss the actual match, you lose automatically,” Noemi sighed. “But I’m sure he’ll make it. He’s been preparing for this competition for a long time and won’t give up easily.”
Grace nodded, saying no more.
“Here he comes! Senior Brother Fenley is here!” Kassidy, sitting nearby, suddenly exclaimed, pointing toward Fenley Hudson and Alloy Marshall as they approached with their heads held high.
Fenley looked more composed and confident than the day before. If he had seemed sharp yesterday, today he was calm and self-assured.
“Brother Fenley, over here!” Noemi called, and Fenley nodded, whispering a few words to Alloy before walking over to sit with them.
Alloy headed to the main seats, as the leader of the Celestial Alliance sat with the top-ranked fighters.
“How was the retreat, Brother Fenley? Did it work?” Noemi asked eagerly after he sat down.
“Thanks to the breakthrough pill my adoptive father gave me, I’ve reached a new level,” Fenley said with a smile.
After a night of focused effort, he had absorbed the pill’s effects, breaking through to the rank of grandmaster.
“A new level?” Noemi and Kassidy exchanged excited looks, realizing what he meant. “That’s amazing! Congratulations on your breakthrough! Looks like the Celestial Alliance will win this competition!” they said joyfully.
Before the breakthrough, Fenley had already been strong, but now his power had doubled.
“It’s too early to say who will win, but I’m definitely more confident now,” Fenley replied calmly.
He had seen the top eight contestants and knew none were weak. Before, he wasn’t entirely sure he could win, but now, after advancing from a half-step grandmaster to a true grandmaster, his strength had increased dramatically. Now, he felt incredibly powerful.
