An Understated Dominance Chapter 2350 – In a corner of the audience, Father Adam watched as Black Kong was brutally beaten, his face filled with concern. He knew just how powerful Black Kong was—far stronger than the gilded Bill Wolf. Black Kong was naturally gifted, and with genetic enhancements, his strength, defense, and speed had reached the limits of human capability.
Dragonmarsh’s martial arts masters were no match for Black Kong. Yet, Father Adam never expected that a woman would be the one to bring him down, pummeling him with her bare fists. If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, he wouldn’t have believed it.
“This is really troublesome,” Father Adam thought, his expression tense. He knew the mission was going to be difficult, but he hadn’t anticipated it being this hard.
They had started with three people, and now, with the competition only halfway through, he was the last one left. It was truly a challenge. If he gave up now, he would have a hard time explaining it to the pantheon of gods. All he could do was take things step by step from here.
Thankfully, the top contenders from the Dragonmarsh Legendary List had already appeared, so the remaining opponents shouldn’t be as strong. With some caution, they could still make it to the top eight.
After the battlefield was cleared and the ring repaired, Orion Foster spoke loudly, “The fourth match is about to begin. Contestants No. 4 and No. 13, please come to the stage!”
As soon as he finished, Rivka, holding her sword, stood up from the audience and walked to the ring. She was contestant No. 4. Now, she didn’t know who she would face.
“Sister, go get ’em!” Halle cheered from behind.
Making it to the top 16 was already impressive, but advancing to the top 8 would make her famous worldwide and earn her significant rewards upon returning to the sect.
As Rivka took her place on the ring, a man in black, also carrying a sword, stepped onto the stage.
The man in black had sharp features, a tall build, and intense eyes. His aura was similar to that of Glenn Hadley, though slightly less imposing.
“Brother Lai?” Rivka was startled when she recognized her opponent as Miguel Lai, a fellow disciple from the Sword Union.
In the Sword Union, Miguel Lai was second only to Glenn Hadley, and his swordsmanship was exceptional. However, he kept a low profile, so few knew of his reputation. His most notable achievement was fighting the sect master, Cyrus Hadley, for three moves without being defeated—a testament to his skill.
“Rivka, what a surprise! I didn’t expect us to meet here,” Miguel smiled warmly. “How about we spar, just like old times?”
“Spar?” Rivka sighed. “Since I joined the sect, I’ve never won against you.”
She had never beaten him—not even once. When Miguel was serious, she couldn’t even last three moves.
Their skill levels were worlds apart; comparing them wasn’t even fair.
“Brother Lai, I’m not strong enough, so I won’t waste your time. I concede,” Rivka said, bowing respectfully and choosing to forfeit.
Knowing her limits, she realized that fighting Miguel would only bring trouble.
“Concede? Rivka, that’s not like you,” Miguel said, surprised.
With Rivka’s stubborn nature, she would usually fight hard, even if she knew she would lose.
“This isn’t just a friendly match, Brother Lai. Save your energy for the stronger opponents tomorrow,” Rivka explained.
At this stage, it was important to keep some cards hidden, so the opponent couldn’t gauge her true abilities. This would increase her chances of winning.
Since they were from the same sect and she couldn’t beat Miguel, there was no point in exhausting him.
“I see. Thank you, Rivka,” Miguel quickly understood, bowing in return.
“Good luck tomorrow, Brother Lai,” Rivka smiled before walking off the stage.
“Contestant No. 4 concedes. Contestant No. 13 wins!” Orion Foster quickly announced.
“What? She just gave up? That’s so dull!”
“Yeah! She didn’t even try—how spineless!”
“When people from the same sect face each other, they won’t fight to the death. It’s smarter to conserve energy and send the stronger person to the quarterfinals. I think it was a wise decision.”
“Giving up her chance to advance—this woman is no ordinary person!”
Rivka’s concession sparked a lot of discussion among the audience. Some criticized her decision, while others understood it.
After all, if Rivka had fought Miguel to the death, others would only benefit from it.
Being from the same sect, Miguel’s generosity in helping out was something not everyone could possess.
“The fourth match is over. The fifth match is about to start. Contestants No. 5 and No. 12, please come to the stage!”
Orion Foster didn’t waste time. As soon as Rivka and Miguel left the stage, he called for the next contestants.
Just then, a long “clang” echoed through the arena.
A golden light shot into the sky, covering 100 meters before it finally “clanged” and stabbed heavily into the ring.
Everyone stared in awe, realizing it was a sword radiating golden light!
