Married At First Sight Chapter 4495
The warmth of the family had softened Serenity’s once cold demeanor. She looked gentler now. When she went out like this, she turned heads everywhere. It was no surprise that she often attracted the wrong kind of attention.
Some people, completely clueless about her status, even had the nerve to approach her with ridiculous requests. They said they were willing to call her their big sister and be the second-in-command—just so she’d share her military background with them.
Serenity didn’t get angry, but Zachary was furious.
She had become numb to it. Ever since marrying Zachary, admirers popped up every now and then. She never paid them any mind.
As long as they didn’t bother her, she ignored them. She only acted when someone had the audacity to get close to Zachary.
But in all their eight years of marriage, only Analia had managed to approach Zachary—and that was purely for business. Even then, she never really got close to him. So how could anyone like her even think about challenging Serenity?
Serenity was busy. She had no time or energy to waste on love rivals. Unless they truly posed a threat, she didn’t bother.
She often said that if a man wanted to cheat, no matter how closely you watched him, he’d still find a way. But if he was loyal, it didn’t matter even if another woman climbed into his bed—he wouldn’t betray you.
And when it came to her Zachary, she had complete trust.
The York family was known for their loyalty. It wasn’t just for show—it was the real deal.
“You always have bodyguards with you when you go out. No one can get near you,” Josh said. “We’re the same age, both good-looking, but somehow, you still look younger and more attractive than I do.”
Zachary replied, “Jealous? Alright, from now on, you can come along to every event our company attends. Show off your charm. But if you end up attracting the wrong kind of attention and Jasmine takes your son and threatens divorce, don’t come crying to me.”
Josh and Jasmine had fallen in love and gotten married without a single bump in the road—no rivals, no drama.
Zachary added, “You’ve just had it too easy.”
Josh quickly defended himself, “I admire your charm, sure—but I definitely don’t envy the mess that comes with it.”
“Zachary, Callum, don’t start talking nonsense in front of Jasmine. Every time she gets mad at me, it’s because of something you two said.”
Zachary and Callum laughed in unison, “We’re not that free.”
They were all cut from the same cloth. Josh wasn’t the type to cheat.
Jasmine kept herself well, their kids were in school, and she still looked as fresh as ever. Josh adored her. No matter how young or beautiful another woman might be, in his eyes, no one compared to Jasmine.
Just then, Callum’s phone rang. He smiled as soon as he saw the caller ID.
Without asking, everyone knew it was his wife.
“Brother, I’ll head back and take care of some things,” Callum said to Zachary before walking off to take the call.
“Dad.”
The voice on the other end wasn’t Camryn’s—it was their son’s, sweet and clear.
Callum smiled. “Cai, why are you calling Dad?”
Cairo said, “I asked Grandma to bring me to Mom’s flower shop. She was there. Now Mom and I want to pick you up from work. Are you done yet?”
Callum replied, “Well, technically I’m not, but if you and Mom are coming to get me, then I’m off.”
“Dad, do you want some flowers? Mom and I will make you a bouquet.”
Callum’s expression softened. Smiling as he stepped into the elevator, he said, “If it’s from you, even if it’s just a bunch of grass, I’ll love it.”
Cairo replied, “There’s no grass at Mom’s flower shop. If you told me earlier, I’d have asked Grandma to help me cut some and bring it.”

Callum laughed. “That was just a figure of speech, son. Did Grandma know you were going out?”
“She knew. I asked her to bring me. I miss you and Mom.”
Callum’s voice turned gentle. “Dad misses you too.”
“Dad, we’re on summer break. Why don’t you take a summer break too?”
Cairo was curious why his parents still had to work during his vacation. He didn’t get why they weren’t home with him, especially when they sometimes had to travel for business.
Callum chuckled. “Only students and teachers get summer and winter breaks. Grown-ups have to work. If we don’t work, how can we earn money to send you to school and buy all your favorite toys?”
Cairo seemed to understand and said, “Oh,” before handing the phone over to Camryn.
“It’s almost the end of the workday,” she said. “I’ll bring our son to pick you up. Mom’s with us, so let’s go out for dinner.”
Rosella, who had joined them, spoke up: “We’re family, no need to be so formal. Let’s just go home and eat. I’ll eat whatever you cook. I’m not picky, and I don’t want to eat out.”
She liked the comfort of home-cooked meals, even though the food at the hotel was excellent. The atmosphere just wasn’t the same.
Normally, Camryn and Callum lived at the Newman villa near the city. Their son, who had been staying there for school, was back at the main villa for summer vacation to keep his grandparents company.
Rosella now came over more often to visit her son and daughter-in-law.
After hearing his mom’s suggestion, Callum agreed. “Then we’ll eat at home. I still have a few things to finish, but they’ll be done by the time you arrive.”
“Just in time for me to get off and start cooking. I won’t need to pick up any groceries, right?”
Camryn said, “No need. The butler stocks up on fresh ingredients every day.”
No matter when they came home, there was always food ready to be cooked.
The York men were not only skilled in martial arts—they were great cooks too. The Newman butler had long since gotten used to leaving the kitchen duties to the master whenever he was home. The chef got the day off.
Rosella especially loved her son’s cooking.
“Then we’ll head back and start dinner.”
“Alright, you go wrap up your work. Cairo said he wants to video call Baby—Maverick.”
Camryn ended the call and dialed Serenity for a video chat between the kids.
Maverick and Bethany had just come inside with River. Serenity took the phone and said, “Baby, Belle, come over! Cairo wants to video chat.”
River, carrying Belle, joked, “Cairo, don’t you want to video chat with Uncle River?”
“Uncle River! Uncle River!” Cairo shouted excitedly. “Mom, I want to go to Uncle River’s house to play. Can I go, please?”
River was speechless.
If Camryn actually let Cairo visit, the kid would never want to leave—and his house would instantly become a daycare center.

Camryn immediately handed her phone to Cairo and asked him to talk to River. She felt awkward saying she was planning to send her son over.
There were several kids at home, and if Cairo went, the rest would definitely want to follow. River was a single guy—he probably wouldn’t be able to handle all of them.
So Camryn had Cairo talk to River instead while she stayed quiet.
She didn’t have much free time right now. Otherwise, she would’ve gone on a trip to Eaglioncile with her eldest sister-in-law, Serenity.
She wouldn’t be free until August. That’s when she planned to take Cairo out to see the world. She had even made plans with her other sisters-in-law. Serenity said she’d be able to take Maverick and Belle on a trip in August too.
They planned to visit Tatum’s family in Annenburg, Province X, and spend some time there. Word was the summer there wasn’t as hot.
Since marrying Elora, Tatum only brought his wife and kids to visit the York family during the New Year and other holidays. The rest of the time, they lived with Elora’s family.
Tatum wasn’t just Elora’s husband—he was also her personal chef. He’d been handling all of Elora’s meals for years.
Thanks to all the delicious food Tatum cooked, Elora had gained weight after giving birth. She had to start working out, control her diet, and even ordered Tatum to stop making her favorite dishes.
After two months of hard work, she finally lost the extra weight and returned to her pre-marriage figure.
A lot had changed in six years.
The Ormond family had evolved too. Alonzo was already thirteen and starting his third year of junior high in September. He had great grades and even skipped a grade in elementary school.
Every winter and summer break, Elora would bring Alonzo and Angelo to her office so they could shadow her. She didn’t give them any formal positions—they were still minors, after all.
But they could watch and learn. When Elora was busy, the boys would do their homework or work on test papers. Their sisters would occasionally hand them practice exams to keep them sharp.
It was a way to help them understand how the family business operated early on.
Tinsley had gotten married a few years back—into the Johnson family—making her and Elisa sisters-in-law.
Since Elora stayed with her birth family to manage the business, she didn’t ask Tinsley to stay. Tinsley had the choice. With her in-laws’ blessing, she chose to continue helping her family for a few more years. Once her younger brothers got older, she planned to join FC & Co.
The third sister, Sevyn, also married someone from the city. Her husband wasn’t especially capable, but his family was a good match for the Ormonds.
She had intentionally chosen someone kind but not overly ambitious in business. She didn’t want a husband who might try to take over the Ormond family assets.
Tatum was a perfect example. He was incredibly talented, yet he focused on caring for Elora and the kids, never meddling in the Ormond business unless asked for advice. Even then, he’d only offer a few suggestions.
He still had his own businesses to manage on the side—he owned quite a few companies himself.
“Uncle River, Uncle River!” Cairo called out happily, waving at the camera. “Big Brother, Belle! I miss you guys so much! You went out without me!”
“Mom wouldn’t let me go with Aunt Seren,” he added with a pout.
Camryn explained, “Your aunt already has your big brother and Belle with her. You’re a handful, and if she takes you, the other kids will all want to come too.”
Serenity laughed. “Cai, Aunt Seren really can’t take that many kids. But we’ll go out again next time—when your mom’s free, okay?”

“But I want to go to Uncle River’s place now,” Cairo said. “Uncle River, can I come over and play?”
Maverick handed the phone to River and looked at him seriously. “Uncle River, why don’t you let Cairo come? Just don’t tell the second and third brothers.”
“Your second and third brothers already went to Grandma’s house in Jensburg for summer break,” River replied.
As soon as summer started, the boys flew to Jensburg, where the Queen family picked them up at the airport.
Maverick was quiet for a second. “Then Cairo can go.”
The younger cousins from Uncle Tatum’s side rarely visited. The ones from Uncle Evan and Uncle Elian’s houses probably also went to their grandma’s place.
Maverick sometimes felt a little envious of his younger cousins. They had a grandma to spend time with.
His own grandma (Serenity’s mom) had passed away when Serenity was just ten. His grandfather too.
So Maverick didn’t have grandparents—just his aunt Liberty and his great-aunt. Sometimes he asked the driver to take him to Liberty’s house. To him, Aunt Liberty was just like a grandma.
He loved his younger brother and sister a lot. His brother often took them to Liberty’s place. Brother Sonny and Sister Livia were fun too. Visiting Liberty’s gave him a bit of that warm, family feeling.
River smiled and said, “Cairo, Uncle River is really busy right now. And besides, we haven’t even found you a new aunt yet. Grandma keeps nagging me to get married.”
“Between work and looking for your future aunt, Uncle River doesn’t have time to take care of you properly. I can’t just leave you with the nanny. I’d worry.”
“Your big brother and Belle are already out with Aunt Seren.”
River clearly didn’t agree to let Camryn send Cairo over.
Even though the other nephews were probably with their grandma, if they found out Cairo came to visit him, they’d throw a fit. They’d all want to come too.
The cousins would turn it into a competition for attention!
As an uncle, River had to treat all the kids equally—except Belle. No one in the family could resist spoiling Belle. Even the other kids loved her to bits.
Cairo sighed. “Oh,” he muttered, a little disappointed. His Aunt Seren was already busy with his brother and Belle. Taking him along would be too much.
He nodded sensibly and said, “Okay. Mom said when she’s free, she’ll take me to Uncle Tatum’s house. Big Brother, Belle, will you go too?”
“Of course!” Maverick said. “Mom already said we’d all go together. I haven’t seen Uncle Tatum in a while.”
Serenity chatted with the kids, who were happily chattering about everything. The conversation only ended when Cairo arrived at the York Corporation.
After Serenity got her phone back, she turned to River. “Let’s go eat. After dinner, if you’ve got social plans, go ahead. I’ll take the kids shopping.”
She wasn’t worried—there were bodyguards and nannies with her.
River said, “I did have an appointment, but when I heard you were coming, I canceled. It’s fine—I’ll go out with you all tonight. Or we could call Romina. Didn’t she say she’d be your free tour guide?”
Serenity smiled knowingly at River.
He was quick to bring up Romina. Clearly, he was into her—he just hadn’t realized it yet.
