Married At First Sight Chapter 4291

Chapter 4291

Sure enough, before long, Holden’s furious shouts and curses echoed from outside.

“Let me go, you guard dogs! Let me go! I need to go in and curse that ungrateful daughter to death!” He even hurled insults at the hospital security guards.

His shouts gradually faded into the distance.

Silence returned outside the ward.

Two nurses entered to change Kathryn’s dressing.

As they worked, one of them remarked, “Miss Farrell, your father comes here every day just to scold you, and you let him.”

Kathryn responded calmly, “He’s my father. If I don’t see him, he’ll be so furious that he’ll probably jump up and down. I have to let him vent—otherwise, he might end up spitting blood or having a stroke, and then I’d be the one blamed for it. This way, he gets to release his anger.”

The nurses were momentarily taken aback.

One of them quickly changed the subject. “Miss Farrell, your wound is healing well.”

The senior nurse unwrapped the bandage, inspected Kathryn’s arm, and then gestured for the younger nurse to disinfect the wound and apply fresh medicine.

Kathryn glanced at the unfamiliar nurse. “Is she a new intern?”

The senior nurse nodded. “Yes, today’s her first day. I’m supervising her.”

Kathryn smiled faintly but said nothing.

The nurse hesitated before speaking again. “Miss Farrell, you should consider having someone send your father back to his hometown. He causes such a commotion every day, disturbing not just you but also the other patients.”

Everyone was affected.

Sometimes, Holden even stormed over to the nurses’ station to cause trouble.

And yet, it wasn’t the nurses who denied him access to Kathryn, so why did he take it out on them?

Kathryn remained silent for a moment before replying, “I’ll arrange for someone to take him home later, but he has two feet—he’ll just come back. I can’t stop him unless I break his legs. My injury is almost healed anyway. I’ll be discharged soon, so at least he won’t be bothering the hospital anymore.”

Holden’s daily outbursts affected too many people.

Kathryn couldn’t let everyone else suffer just because she had learned to ignore him.

“Pedro, go outside and arrange for someone to send my father back to his hometown. Tell him that the more he causes trouble, the less I’ll consider forgiving my brothers. They won’t escape their sentences. If he really wants them to get a lighter sentence, he should hire a lawyer instead of wasting his time yelling at me. Also, remind him that I’m the only child he has left to rely on. If he keeps cursing me and I decide to cut ties, who’s going to take care of him in his old age?”

Rely on Kathryn’s sisters-in-law?

Impossible.

After her three brothers went to prison, the two sisters-in-law who hadn’t already left took their children and moved into the houses registered under their husbands’ names.

They had no interest in taking care of Holden.

Her nieces and nephews were still minors, making it even more unlikely that they would step up.

Holden had no choice—his future depended on Kathryn.

She wouldn’t shower him with wealth, but she would provide for his basic needs. Pedro had already transferred a sum of money to Holden, enough to sustain him for years.

The senior nurse sighed. “Miss Farrell, after everything he did to you, you’re still thinking about his well-being?”

Without waiting for a response, she added, “But I suppose that’s just how it is. As children, we have a duty to support our parents. My parents raised me when I was young, so I’ll take care of them when they’re old. That’s a traditional virtue.”

Holden hadn’t raised Kathryn, but that wasn’t entirely his fault. The Farrell family’s butler had deliberately kept them apart, so in a way, it was understandable.

Kathryn said evenly, “At the end of the day, he’s still my biological father. When my brothers wanted to kill me, he tried to stop them—he failed, but at least he tried. His biggest mistake was not warning me beforehand. If he had, I would’ve been prepared.”

Married At First Sight Chapter 4292

Chapter 4292

Of course, Kathryn would never reveal her deeper involvement in the situation.

Only a handful of people knew the full truth.

Even Holden and his sons had no idea that their supposed victory had been part of Kathryn’s plan all along.

They despised her, wished her dead—but without her, they never would have succeeded in their schemes in the first place.

“After I came back, my father wasn’t kind to me. He adored Shiloh more, but he never openly harmed me.”

Holden simply didn’t have the power to make Kathryn’s life difficult.

When she first returned, she played the role of the weak, helpless daughter. Everyone believed she was a lost cause, incapable of achieving anything. She let them think that.

Her father and brothers favored Shiloh, conspired with her against Kathryn, and tried to trip her up in secret.

But they never openly attacked her.

Because she had mastered the art of deception, they never saw her as a threat.

By the time she revealed her true self, it was too late—she had already secured her place. Her father and brothers no longer had the means to harm her.

The Shiloh they had loved and protected? She lost Clarissa’s favor, little by little, until she was finally cast out of the Farrell family.

Clarissa even severed ties with her entirely.

Kathryn continued, “My mother’s will didn’t require me to care for my father, but as his daughter, I still have a responsibility to provide for him in his old age.”

The two nurses exchanged glances before praising Kathryn’s generosity.

A true daughter, they thought, was far more compassionate than a fake one.

Everyone in Jensburg had heard of Shiloh’s reputation.

And now, the once-favored successor of the Farrell family was buried, her grave covered in overgrown grass.

After the nurses finished changing Kathryn’s bandages, Pedro spoke to her briefly before leaving the ward.

Meanwhile, outside the hospital, Holden refused to leave. He stood at the entrance, complaining loudly to passersby.

“My daughter is cruel and heartless! She had a conflict with her brothers and got them arrested! I’m an old man, begging for mercy, and she won’t even see me! She had me thrown out by security!”

He looked around dramatically. “Have you ever seen such a cold-blooded daughter? I haven’t! And to think, she’s my own flesh and blood!”

“After my wife passed, my daughter only treated me worse. She refuses to take care of me and is sending me back to the countryside! Sometimes, when she cuts off my living expenses, I don’t even have food to eat!”

He didn’t care if people believed him—he just wanted to badmouth Kathryn to as many people as possible.

But the passersby weren’t convinced.

Holden was dressed head to toe in designer brands, a Rolex watch on his wrist, gold rings on his fingers, even expensive leather shoes.

Did that look like a man who was starving?

One of the hospital security guards stepped in and addressed the crowd. “This old man is twisting the truth. His sons kidnapped his daughter and tried to cut her into pieces before dumping her in the ocean. She barely survived, and they got arrested. But instead of worrying about her, he comes here every day demanding that she write a letter to get them a lighter sentence. Meanwhile, his daughter already sent him money for his retirement.”

The onlookers exchanged glances.

This kind of father?

Absolutely the worst.

Married At First Sight Chapter 4293

Chapter 4293

Everyone turned on Holden, blaming him.

Furious, Holden lashed out at the hospital security. “What does this have to do with you? You’re just a guard dog! Why are you sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong?”

“Look at him—angry and embarrassed.”

The hospital security had been fed up with Holden for a long time. Every day, he showed up at the inpatient department, causing trouble and demanding they carry him downstairs.

And every time, he berated them the whole way down, accusing them of harming him and threatening to sue.

It was obvious—Holden was an unreasonable old man.

Anyone who knew his background understood that he was nothing but trouble.

Back in the day, Holden was as timid as a mouse, constantly suppressed by his wife. He was nothing more than a son-in-law living under Clarissa’s thumb. In the Farrell family mansion, he had the lowest status.

His most infamous scandal was when he got caught cheating. Clarissa found out and publicly humiliated him. After that, Holden vanished for a while, rumored to have been beaten and recovering at home, too ashamed to show his face.

No one expected that even now, he still clung to his outdated beliefs—favoring sons over daughters.

In the Farrell family, daughters were the rightful heirs. Yet Holden still placed his son above his daughter.

Of course, his biological daughter had never grown up with him. He felt no attachment to her. It made sense—his son carried his last name, while his daughter was a Farrell.

“You must have gotten so many benefits from Kathryn that you’re helping her bully an old man like me!” Holden barked at the security guard.

The guard smirked. “Old man, everyone in Jensburg knows about your three sons and their crimes against their own family. Anyone with eyes can see the truth. Miss Farrell is unfortunate to have a father like you.”

Holden seethed. “Kathryn set my sons up! She provoked them, forced them to act out against her just to gather evidence and send them to jail. My sons were naive and walked right into her trap! Why do you think that Farrell guy came back from his business trip so quickly? It was all part of Kathryn’s scheme!”

Holden’s imagination was wild, but surprisingly close to the truth.

But what did it matter?

A crime was still a crime. No matter how much noise Holden made, his sons would face the consequences.

If anyone was to blame, it was them for ignoring his warnings. He had told them to leave Jensburg and return to their hometown, to sell everything and live peacefully. But they refused.

And, of course, there was Clarissa—strong-willed and stubborn to the very end.

Why did she have to rewrite the will? If she had left things as they were, maybe the siblings wouldn’t have turned on each other.

Holden cursed her in his heart. He wished he could dig up her grave and scatter her ashes.

Even in death, he still resented her.

Before she passed, Clarissa had tried to take Holden down with her.

Clarissa: Too bad my aim was off. Should’ve finished you off, old man. Now you’re just making life harder for my daughter.

Holden: …

As he bickered with the security guard, Pedro emerged from the hospital.

Seeing Pedro, Holden’s anger flared up again. He started hurling vicious insults at Kathryn, cursing her with the most spiteful words he could think of.

To an outsider, it would have sounded like he was ranting about his worst enemy.

Married At First Sight Chapter 4294

Chapter 4294

Pedro walked up to Holden, his face cold and stern. Holden, startled by his intensity, instinctively stopped cursing. But he quickly masked his fear, straightened up, and glared at Pedro. “What do you want?”

Pedro’s voice was icy. “Mr. Janzen, your sons are in prison. Your grandsons are still minors. Your daughters-in-law don’t care about you. Who do you think will take care of you in the future? Your eldest daughter recently asked me to send you a pension.”

Holden’s expression darkened. “You think you can use money to threaten me? I—I’m not afraid! I have plenty of money! I’m not worried about how I’ll live!”

But his voice lacked its earlier arrogance. He was clearly shaken.

“Mr. Janzen, I suggest you go home and accept reality. If you push your daughter too far, your sons’ sentences could become even harsher.”

Holden opened his mouth to argue but stopped. Deep down, he knew Pedro was right—his sons were in a terrible position.

As for his daughters-in-law, the eldest had already divorced. The other two had stayed silent and moved on quickly. At first, they entertained his requests for help. But soon, they stopped answering his calls altogether.

They even blamed his sons for their reckless actions, for not thinking about their children, for ruining their futures. Now, the grandchildren would never be able to take civil service exams because of their fathers’ criminal records.

Not that their family ever aimed for government jobs, but it was one thing to choose a different path—it was another to have no choice at all.

Holden knew his daughters-in-law resented their husbands for cheating.

Hadn’t they forgiven them before?

They had acted like loving couples. But the moment trouble struck, the wives washed their hands of it. None of them were willing to pay for a lawyer.

The grandchildren were too young to help. Though they had inherited property from their grandmother, they couldn’t access it. Their mothers controlled it now. They had money, but no way to use it.

Holden realized he had no one to rely on. His daughters-in-law and grandchildren were out of the question.

If his sons received long sentences—ten years, maybe more—his own pension wouldn’t be enough.

And Holden had no intention of dying anytime soon. He wanted to live another twenty, maybe even thirty years. He needed to think about his future.

After calming down, he realized the only person he could turn to was Kathryn—the daughter he hated the most.

She was the richest one. Even a small amount of money from her would be enough for him to live comfortably.

But she wouldn’t give him much.

She would only provide a few thousand dollars a month, just enough for basic expenses. If she gave him a lump sum, it would be no more than a few tens of thousands.

Maybe, if she was feeling generous, she’d give a little more.

Holden’s face turned pale.

His rage and bravado vanished.

He looked like a wilted flower after a frost.

Pedro spoke again. “Mr. Janzen, go home and enjoy your retirement. Yelling and cursing won’t get your sons out of prison. If you really want to help, hire a lawyer. That’s your only option. Or, if you’re willing, you can apologize to your eldest daughter on their behalf.”

Holden trembled, unable to respond.

After a long pause, he turned and walked away—defeated.

He returned to his hometown.

After all his struggling, he had done his duty as a father. But there was nothing more he could do.

Married At First Sight Chapter 4295

Chapter 4295

Pedro watched as Holden walked away before returning to the inpatient ward.

Kathryn was sitting on the hospital bed, phone in hand, discussing work with Liberty.

Even though she was hospitalized, she remained updated on company affairs. Liberty didn’t actually need to consult her on most matters, but she did anyway—Kathryn was still the vice president of the Farrell Group, and Liberty respected that.

Pedro didn’t interrupt. Instead, he silently stepped into the small lounge area, opened the mini fridge, and took out the fruits sent by well-wishers. He washed them, cut them into bite-sized pieces, and placed them on disposable forks before carrying the plate back into the room.

Kathryn had just finished her conversation with Liberty when she saw Pedro approach with the fruit plate.

“Didn’t I just eat an apple? Now you’re giving me more?” she asked.

Pedro smiled. “There’s too much fruit. If we don’t eat it, it’ll go bad. We should finish it while it’s still fresh.”

He pulled up a chair beside her bed, his dark eyes scanning her face with concern. “You’ve been in the hospital for days now. I think you’ve lost weight.”

“I have not!” Kathryn retorted, picking up a piece of fruit with a fork. “How could I? You feed me like a pig every day! All I do is take medicine, get injections, and eat. Meals, pastries, fruit—you name it. I barely even get out of bed. And when I do, you get all nervous. The worst injury I have is on my arm—it doesn’t stop me from walking.”

She fired off more than a dozen sentences in quick succession.

Pedro chuckled. “Alright, alright, you’re not losing weight. But honestly, you are. You lost a lot of blood, and your complexion hasn’t fully recovered. Once you’re discharged, I’ll make sure you replenish your strength. You’ve been working so hard—just take this time to rest.”

Kathryn sighed. “My dad’s gone, right?” She was too tired to argue further. Talking about food with Pedro was pointless—he’d keep feeding her regardless.

Pedro nodded. “Mr. Janzen left. I talked to him about elderly care, and he finally calmed down. I think he’ll head back to his hometown.”

Kathryn scoffed. “He knows the truth deep down, yet he still causes trouble. He’s always been biased.”

Holden’s favorite had always been Shiloh. He believed she was his only daughter, and he poured his love into her, convinced that if she took over the family, his own status would rise. She was filial, at least in his eyes.

His second favorite was Marco, his eldest son—the firstborn who carried the Janzen name. Holden cherished Marco almost as much as Shiloh.

But when he learned Shiloh wasn’t his biological daughter, he couldn’t take back the love he had already given her, nor could he redirect it to Kathryn.

Ironically, Holden despised his only real daughter the most. Yet, in the end, he had no choice but to rely on her for his future care.

Kathryn would never bring him into her home, but she would cover his living expenses. If he ever needed a caregiver, she’d pay for one.

It wouldn’t be the luxurious retirement he had imagined, but it would be far better than the lives of most elderly people in his hometown.

“He still has money,” Kathryn said. “For now, we don’t need to worry. When he runs out, just send him a monthly allowance.”

Married At First Sight Chapter 4296

Chapter 4296

Kathryn continued, “I’ll also cover the nanny’s salary. Have the nanny contact you directly—he doesn’t need to handle the money himself. Otherwise, he’ll start skimping on wages. If his quality of life drops, no one will take care of him properly, and he won’t last long. I want him to live—at least until we’re married, have kids, and build our business empire. I won’t lift a finger for revenge; just living a better life than his sons will be enough to drive him crazy.”

She didn’t know if her father would ever regret mistreating her.

And she didn’t care.

Pedro smiled. “Don’t worry, I’ll make sure he’s taken care of. He’s in good health—he’ll probably live another ten years. Miss, you talk tough, but you’re too soft-hearted to truly hold a grudge.”

Pedro never believed Kathryn wanted revenge. She was frustrated with her father, sure, but she didn’t hate him enough to seek vengeance. She was angry because he had turned a blind eye when her three brothers schemed against her.

But she understood—compared to them, she had never mattered. Her father always prioritized his sons.

She had no intention of seeing him again. She would give him what was fair, nothing more.

“Pedro, I want to be discharged next week.”

“Monday, then,” Pedro agreed. “Is the company that busy? I thought you’d stay in the hospital longer.”

“Liberty is getting the hang of things. Duncan is guiding her, so I don’t need to worry.”

Kathryn met Pedro’s gaze and smiled. “I think we should take care of our business on Tuesday or Wednesday—make things official.”

Pedro blinked, momentarily stunned. “You mean…get married?”

A grin spread across his face. “Didn’t we agree to wait until we leave Jensburg?”

“I changed my mind,” Kathryn said. “Does it matter where we get married? If we do it here, people will congratulate us. You’re amazing, Pedro. I want to make you mine—fast—before someone tries to steal you.”

Pedro had stayed by her side every single day in the hospital. The young nurses often sneaked glances at him when they changed her dressings or administered medicine. Kathryn knew he only had eyes for her.

Pedro would never betray her.

Still, she didn’t want competition. By making him her husband, she could ensure everyone knew he wasn’t just her assistant—he was her partner.

Kathryn Farrell wasn’t one to leave things to chance.

After two years, everyone in Jensburg knew the truth: she was the real force behind the Farrell family. Not the imposter, Shiloh.

Kathryn was the rightful heir.

Shiloh had been raised with the best education, polished and groomed by her mother. But she lacked the instinct, the edge, the ruthlessness.

Kathryn had returned to the Farrell family only three years ago, yet she had taken down every rival and claimed victory.

She had chosen Liberty to lead the Farrell Group, ensuring her family’s legacy would endure—on her terms.

Married At First Sight Chapter 4297

Chapter 4297

“Miss, your injury isn’t fully healed yet. Don’t push yourself.” Pedro was worried, though he didn’t let it show.

More than anything, Pedro wanted their relationship to be solid and stable.

Kathryn replied, “My injury isn’t an issue. Unless you don’t want to marry me, then there’s no rush to get our marriage certificate.”

“How could that be? I’ve dreamed of marrying you. From the moment I saw you, I was drawn to you. Miss, I fell for you at first sight.” Pedro spoke anxiously—he truly wanted to marry her. But at the same time, he felt guilty about her injury.

Kathryn smiled. “When you came into my life, I didn’t have a single admirer. I don’t have Shiloh’s delicate beauty, and my temperament is considered weak. People looked down on me. The men who approached me were all second-generation rich kids, incompetent and entitled, hoping to use my father’s influence to climb the ladder. The truly capable men? Not a single one was interested.”

Maybe Pedro wasn’t drawn to her at first. Maybe he simply understood that as the only daughter of the Farrell family, she would inherit everything. And the head of the Farrell family never marries; they only invite a man into their life.

Few capable men were willing to accept that role.

Men who married into the Farrell family had no say in its affairs. Beyond fathering children and tending to the head of the family’s personal life, they served little purpose.

Even the wealthy and privileged weren’t eager to join the Farrell family.

Of course, each head of the family could still attract suitors.

Pedro gazed at her with deep affection. “Miss, in my eyes, you’re the most beautiful woman in the world. I’m grateful no one else saw what I see in you, that no one else realized how incredible you are.”

Kathryn chuckled. “Since you have no objections, I’ll be discharged from the hospital on Monday. Let’s get our marriage certificate on Wednesday.”

“Okay.” Pedro agreed without hesitation.

“Miss, get some rest. I have something to take care of.”

Pedro knew they were about to get married, yet he hadn’t prepared a diamond ring or a bouquet of roses. With just a few days left, he wanted to buy the perfect ring and arrange for flowers.

When Kathryn was discharged, he would propose properly before they got their marriage certificate.

If other women got a grand proposal, how could Kathryn not have one?

Kathryn nodded. “Go ahead. I’ll be fine. There are bodyguards outside. It’s safe.”

Truthfully, no one would dare target Kathryn now.

Pedro hurried out. Just as he reached the door, he ran into Liberty, who was about to enter.

“Ms. Hunt, what brings you here?” Pedro was surprised—Kathryn had just spoken with Liberty about work.

It hadn’t been long, yet she had come in person.

“I finalized a contract with a client, and they left. I was on my way and thought I’d stop by to see Kathryn. Mr. Fraser, where are you off to in such a hurry?” Liberty asked.

Pedro didn’t reveal the truth. “Just handling something urgent.”

Liberty nodded. “Go take care of it. I’ll stay with Kathryn.”

Pedro stepped aside, letting her pass. Before leaving, he gave the bodyguards a few more instructions.

Inside, Kathryn saw Liberty and waved her over. “You’re here! Help me finish this fruit plate. I’m stuffed. If I eat any more, I won’t have room for dinner.”

Liberty sat down in the chair Pedro had just vacated and glanced at the plate of fruit. She laughed. “Every time I visit, you’re eating. Mr. Fraser treats you like a little piglet.”

Married At First Sight Chapter 4298

Chapter 4298

Kathryn blushed slightly. “Exactly! I just lost a little blood, but he acts like I need a whole new supply. You said I lost weight—do you really think so? I feel like I’ve gained some. Pinch my face, it’s all chubby.”

Liberty reached out, playfully pinching Kathryn’s cheek. “Yeah, a little chubby. You’re not overweight, just… not losing any. With Mr. Fraser doting on you like this, no wonder.”

She grabbed a disposable fork from the fruit plate and speared a piece of fruit. “He even cuts them into pretty shapes. Looks delicious and appetizing. Way better than Duncan—he just chops apples into quarters. Other fruits? He just rinses them and hands them over.”

Duncan never bothered with fancy presentations.

Duncan: …

He was just a straightforward guy; he never thought about these details.

Kathryn chuckled. “Mr. Lewis is great, too. If he heard you say that, he’d be heartbroken. Ever since you got married, he’s learned to feel wronged, to act spoiled, even to complain.”

Liberty raised an eyebrow. “Has Duncan been complaining to you?”

“Not exactly. Sometimes he vents to Pedro, and Pedro tells me. Like how you stay up too late. Duncan keeps reminding you to rest early, and you always agree but never actually do it. If he really wanted to complain, he’d go to your aunt Audrey, not me. But seriously, Liberty, don’t overwork yourself. Your health matters. If you break down, a lot of people will be heartbroken.”

Kathryn said this with a hint of envy.

Liberty had so many people who cared about her.

Kathryn, on the other hand, only had Pedro.

Liberty sighed. “You can’t sleep peacefully until the work is done.”

“True. When I walked in, Pedro was rushing out. He said he had something urgent. What’s going on?” Liberty asked between bites of fruit.

Kathryn feigned indifference. “I didn’t ask. He said he had something to handle, so I let him go. I don’t interfere with his business, as long as he doesn’t hurt or betray me.”

Liberty studied her friend, clearly unconvinced.

Pedro worshipped Kathryn. There was no way he wouldn’t tell her what he was up to.

But since Kathryn didn’t elaborate, Liberty didn’t press.

After eating a few pieces of fruit, Liberty put down her fork, pulled a contract from her bag, and handed it to Kathryn. “This is the contract I just signed with Mr. Gu. Take a look and sign it.”

Kathryn skimmed through it briefly before handing it back. “I trust you. Besides, you’re the president of the Farrell Group now. If you think it’s good, then it’s good. You don’t need my approval on everything. With Mr. Lewis guiding you, I know you’ll do fine.”

Liberty narrowed her eyes. “You keep saying you’re stepping back. Weren’t you planning to leave in six months?”

Kathryn smiled. “I never said I’d leave immediately. You’ve improved a lot. You don’t need me holding your hand anymore. I also have my own life to focus on—marriage, family, personal matters. The company is your responsibility now.”

For the first time, the Farrell family wasn’t a burden to Kathryn anymore.

Married At First Sight Chapter 4299

Chapter 4299

Liberty’s eyes lit up with excitement. “Are you planning to marry Mr. Fraser sooner than expected? Don’t you want to date first, fall in love, and then get married?”

Kathryn had always said she wanted to date Pedro first, experience love, and enjoy its sweetness before tying the knot. No matter how strong a marriage is, it never quite carries the same thrill as the early days of romance.

So many couples deeply love each other before marriage, only to find their feelings worn down by the weight of everyday life, responsibilities, and routine.

Kathryn replied, “Pedro and I have been together for a long time. Our feelings run deep. Love and romance don’t have to end with marriage—we can still nurture them afterward. Just look at your sister, Serenity. She and Zachary married first and fell in love later. Who would dare say she isn’t happy now?”

She continued confidently, “Pedro and I already share a bond. This isn’t a rushed decision. I believe we’ll be happy, and our love won’t fade because of life’s challenges.”

Marriage, after all, is an art—one that requires effort to maintain.

Liberty speared another piece of fruit with her fork and said, “It’s your decision. No matter when you get married, I wish you the best. Oh, I haven’t even prepared a wedding gift yet! If you’re getting your marriage certificate so soon, I’ll have to be a little predictable and gift you a couple of jewelry sets. When the wedding happens, I’ll give a cash gift too.”

Kathryn smiled warmly. “Your blessing is enough for me. A simple gift will do—it doesn’t have to be extravagant. What truly matters is the thought behind it. As for the wedding, I think we should strike while the iron’s hot and pick a date within the next couple of months.”

Now that they had their marriage certificate, there was no reason to delay the wedding.

Spring was in full bloom—a perfect season for weddings.

By summer, the heat would be unbearable, and autumn and winter still seemed far away.

Liberty nodded. “You’re right—there’s no point in waiting. Once you pick a good date, we’ll start preparing. When are you and Pedro getting your marriage certificate? I’ll help with the wedding preparations.”

Kathryn gently objected, “You’re my junior. How can I let you, as my junior, take on the responsibility of preparing my wedding?”

Liberty chuckled. “What does that have to do with anything? I’m older than you and have experience. Plus, as the head of the Farrell family, it’s my duty to support my people. There’s nothing wrong with me helping.”

Kathryn relented, “Alright, alright, you win.”

“But you’re so busy—I don’t want you exhausting yourself. I can handle my own affairs. You just need to prepare your red envelope for the wedding gift.”

Kathryn sighed internally. She had so few elders left. Her biological father was alive, but she had no desire to involve him in the wedding. He’d probably try to sabotage it.

Audrey from Wiltspoon could have been an option since she was Kathryn’s cousin. However, Kathryn’s mother had killed Audrey’s mother, and Audrey had never forgiven her. While Audrey didn’t hold a grudge against Kathryn personally, their relationship would never be as close as other cousins.

Kathryn wasn’t sure if Audrey would even show up at the wedding.

Still, this was the path Kathryn had chosen, and she wouldn’t waver. She would keep moving forward.

The wedding wouldn’t be a grand affair—just an intimate gathering of a few close friends and trusted people.

Liberty disagreed. “You won’t just have a simple meal and be done with it. You need a proper wedding.”

“Pedro won’t let you down. He’ll give you a beautiful wedding. And don’t worry about guests—if Hayden and I attend, others will follow.”

Married At First Sight Chapter 4300

Chapter 4300

Kathryn was far better at handling people than previous Farrell family leaders. She had earned a solid reputation in Jensburg’s business world.

Liberty added, “Mr. Fraser left in a hurry earlier—maybe he’s planning a proposal.”

Kathryn blushed. “How would I know? He didn’t say anything, and I’m not a mind reader.”

Liberty just smiled and didn’t press further.

She stayed at the hospital for over an hour before heading out.

That evening, after finishing work, Liberty called Audrey.

Audrey picked up quickly. “Liberty, is everything okay? How are things in Jensburg?” she asked with concern. “Next month is Qingming Festival. We’ll be visiting my parents’ graves.”

Liberty reassured her, “I’m fine, Aunt. Everything is going smoothly. Kathryn and Duncan have been helping me a lot, so I’m feeling confident.”

Audrey sighed in relief. “I never doubted you. You’ve got this.”

Liberty hesitated briefly before saying, “Aunt, I wanted to talk to you about Kathryn.”

Audrey fell silent, waiting for Liberty to continue.

“Once Kathryn is discharged from the hospital, she and Pedro plan to get their marriage certificate and hold the wedding. It’ll likely be after Qingming Festival. Aunt, I think she really wants you to come. She doesn’t have many trusted elders or relatives.”

Liberty paused before adding, “I know Kathryn’s mother did terrible things—she was our enemy. But she’s gone now. In a way, we’ve already avenged our grandparents. When all of that happened, Kathryn wasn’t even born yet. She never grew up in the Farrell family and had no part in their past crimes. She’s innocent. She’s always stood for justice. She’s a good person.”

Audrey was quiet for a moment before saying, “Liberty, you don’t have to invite me to her wedding on her behalf. If she really wants me there, she should personally send an invitation to my house. If she does, then whether I attend or not is my decision, not yours.”

Audrey understood that Kathryn wasn’t to blame for her mother’s sins. Over the past three years, Kathryn had proven herself to be upright and fair.

When Kathryn realized her mother’s schemes were about to be exposed, she had the chance to flee Jensburg. Instead, she chose to stay and do the right thing—even if it meant betraying her own family.

After her mother’s death, Kathryn willingly handed over control of the Farrell family and business to Liberty.

Audrey had despised Clarissa for killing her family, but she couldn’t hate Kathryn. She couldn’t take out her anger on someone who had done no wrong.

Liberty sensed that Audrey bore no ill will toward Kathryn.

Changing the subject, she asked, “Aunt, how’s Grandpa Jimenez doing?”

Audrey’s voice softened. “He’s doing well—eating well, sleeping well, and doting on his grandson. It’s like he’s found a new lease on life.”

Liberty smiled. “That’s great. I hope he lives to be 120.”

Audrey didn’t comment on that, only saying, “As long as he’s alive, I’ll take good care of him and make sure he has no regrets.”

Liberty glanced at the time. “It’s getting late, Aunt. I won’t keep you up. I’ll hang up now.”
