Married At First Sight Chapter 4211

Chapter 4211

Tatum replied, “Both young masters wake up early, especially Angelo—he’s always up before Alonzo. It’s tough for him to get out of bed so early on such a cold day.”

Sometimes, he just wanted to stay wrapped up in his warm blankets, reluctant to get up.

Annenburg remained freezing even after the New Year, while Wiltspoon’s daytime temperatures reached the mid-70s, dropping to the low 50s at night.

Two provinces, two completely different climates.

Wiltspoon’s weather was a dream compared to the bitter cold here.

Elora smiled. “Angelo’s afraid of being late. Do you really think he’d skip breakfast? Don’t bother holding out on him—he’s a little foodie.”

There was always plenty of food for the little ones in the house.

In fact, anything good was saved for them.

And they had quite the appetite.

Alonzo was a bit picky, but Angelo wasn’t fazed by anything. If there were no vegetables, he’d happily eat two bowls of white rice with just soy sauce.

Luckily, both boys were active, constantly running around. They ate a lot but never gained too much weight.

If they ever did, Elora would step in and cut back their portions—better not to let kids get too chubby.

Tatum chuckled. “I know he loves eating here, so I always make sure there’s a portion for him. He’s not picky at all—makes my job easy when it comes to breakfast.”

Still, he made sure both boys got the same meal to avoid any favoritism.

Tatum had a knack for turning simple breakfasts into fun, eye-catching designs.

Kids loved anything shaped like cartoons or animals, and the two little brothers were no exception.

Just then, a voice called out.

“Big sister! Big sister!”

Tinsley’s voice rang through the house.

A moment later, she walked in.

“Tinsley, shouldn’t you be at work already?”

Elora had slept in today after having one too many drinks at a social event the night before.

Still, “late” for her was only eight in the morning.

Normally, she’d already be at the company by now.

And so should Tinsley.

“I saw Timothy hanging around the villa entrance and got irritated, so I turned back,” Tinsley muttered.

She plopped down at the dining table and turned to Tatum. “Do you have any pastries today? Bring me some. I need something sweet to cheer me up.”

She had already eaten breakfast.

But on her way out, she spotted Timothy standing outside the villa gates.

As usual, he was being overly flashy—surrounded by bodyguards, multiple luxury cars parked behind him, and a massive bouquet of red roses in hand.

He was putting on a show.

Chasing after her.

Tinsley was seriously tempted to have someone throw a sack over Timothy tonight, give him a good beating, and make sure he was stuck in bed for a few days.

Maybe then he’d finally leave her alone.

She ignored his messages.

Declined his calls.

And yet, Timothy still wouldn’t give up.

His so-called love was nothing but a smokescreen for his true ambitions.

Tatum chuckled. “Of course, Miss. Give me a second.”

He disappeared into the kitchen and returned moments later with a plate of pastries.

These were meant for the two young masters, but they hadn’t finished them all.

Tinsley immediately noticed the treats were shaped like little animals—clearly made for the boys.

She didn’t mind. Anything Tatum made was delicious, no matter how it looked.

Taking a bite, she praised him. “Tatum, your pastry skills have really improved. I remember when you first started here, you said baking wasn’t your strong suit. It was decent back then, but compared to now? These are on a whole different level.”

Married At First Sight Chapter 4212

Chapter 4212

Tatum smiled warmly. “That’s all thanks to your guidance, Miss.”

He truly believed he had improved.

And Grandma knew him well—she had chosen a wife for him who helped him refine his cooking skills.

Tinsley popped another pastry into her mouth. “A little dessert makes everything better.”

Tatum quietly stepped away, giving the sisters their space.

“No point in letting Timothy get to you,” Elora said, her voice calm. “If you react, he’ll only push harder. Just ignore him. No matter what he does, don’t give him a response. When he realizes he’s wasting his time, he’ll eventually give up.”

Tinsley sighed. “I’m more worried he’ll start going after Sevyn and Violeta instead. They don’t have the same self-control we do.”

So, for now, she would deal with it herself.

“Just seeing him ruins my mood,” she muttered. “Honestly, I wouldn’t mind stuffing him in a sack and beating some sense into him. Does he really think I’m some helpless little girl he can push around?”

Elora smirked. “Not a bad idea.”

Tinsley’s eyes gleamed. “So you agree? You think he’s a pain, too?”

Elora’s expression turned serious. “Of course. He’s insufferable.”

“In that case, I won’t hold back.” Tinsley grinned. “Our family doesn’t need any ties with the Labbe family anyway.”

She was testing Elora’s stance.

After all, Timothy was the son of the acting head of the Labbe family.

Mr. Labbe had chosen him as his successor and held him in high regard.

“For now, we’re staying away from the Labbe family,” Elora confirmed. “But if the real heir ever returns and takes over, we’ll see. Though honestly, I’m not even sure that child is still alive.”

A child that young, without his parents or any family to protect him, with enemies hunting him down at every turn—his survival was uncertain at best.

Perhaps a visit to FC Manor was in order.

She could check if the eldest young lady of the Johnson family had any information.

One thing was clear: the child hadn’t lived with the Johnsons for long.

Elora had no idea where Jane had hidden him.

The Labbe family had never stopped searching, and even the Lafayette family from Meadspring had sent people to investigate—but no one had found a trace.

After all, Jane had picked him up in Meadspring.

Tinsley shifted the conversation. “Sister, were you drunk last night?”

“Just a little,” Elora admitted. “I had a couple extra drinks and got sleepy. I wasn’t completely out of it—just a slight headache. I feel better after some honey water.”

Tinsley hesitated before adding, “You sure you don’t want to rest today? I can handle things at the company.”

She had only heard about Elora drinking a bit too much this morning.

Originally, Elora’s bodyguard had called Sevyn to help her back to her room, but Tatum had woken her up instead.

Lately, Elora had stopped teasing Tinsley about Tatum.

Was she starting to care about him more?

Maybe even getting possessive?

Tinsley didn’t say anything out loud. Some things were better left unsaid.

Tatum was a good match for Elora.

The York family had plenty of sons—one of them settling into her household wouldn’t be an issue.

In the end, Tatum was the best choice for Elora.

“I’m fine,” Elora reassured her. “Just needed some rest. And now that I’ve had breakfast and some coffee, I’m good to go.”

She picked up the cup of coffee Tatum had prepared, stood up, and left the dining hall.

Married At First Sight Chapter 4213

Chapter 4213

Tinsley finished the last of her snacks and followed Elora out.

“Sis, you’re always busy. You must be exhausted. Why don’t you take a day off and rest at home? I can handle everything for you,” Tinsley suggested, hoping Elora would take the opportunity to spend more time with Tatum.

But Elora shook her head. “Not today. I have an important meeting and need to see two major clients. I’m really fine, don’t worry. And from now on, I’m done with alcohol.”

Given her position, no one would dare force her to drink at social events. Most people also knew she avoided drinking in public to prevent being taken advantage of. But every now and then, if she was in a good mood, she might have a glass or two.

Hearing this, Tinsley gave up trying to convince her.

After finishing their coffee, the sisters left together. Elora headed back to the company, with Tinsley riding in the car behind her.

As they drove past the gates of their villa community, they spotted Timothy still standing there. Elora didn’t even bother rolling down the window.

Timothy’s father had come in person, but Elora refused to see him.

Who did Timothy think he was?

Seated in Elora’s car, which was driven by bodyguards, Tinsley glanced outside. Timothy recognized the vehicle immediately. Elora never traveled without security, and her private car was always flanked by escort vehicles. The level of protection she had was far beyond that of Timothy, the eldest son of the Labbe family.

The truth was, Timothy wanted to marry Elora. But she didn’t even acknowledge his father. He had visited several times, only to be turned away each time. Any gifts they sent were promptly returned. She was impossible to persuade.

Even under the pretense of a business partnership, Elora wasn’t interested. Her secretary simply scheduled an appointment, but with the long queue ahead, there was no telling when it would be their turn.

Timothy’s father suggested another approach: starting with Tinsley.

Though slightly less accomplished than Elora, Tinsley was still a force to be reckoned with. She helped run the family business and had built a reputation as a formidable figure in Annenburg’s corporate world—someone most small-time bosses couldn’t even dream of reaching.

Unlike Elora, Tinsley wasn’t as cold or distant.

Many men had tried to get close to Elora, but none had succeeded. She remained unattainable.

Rumor had it that the private chef she hired last year was a young, handsome man who spent his days cooking for her. Though working for the Ormond family meant he had a bright future—many top restaurants would gladly take him in after he left—he was still just a chef.

No one thought he was worthy of Elora Ormond.

Timothy didn’t dare block Elora’s car. He knew better than to push his luck. Angering Elora could ruin everything, and his father would tear into him if that happened. He wasn’t about to make a foolish move.

Tinsley’s car followed closely behind Elora’s. Timothy considered stopping her but ultimately held back. All he could do was watch as she drove away, bouquet still in hand.

Only after she was out of sight did he finally move. Frustrated, he hurled the bouquet to the ground and stomped on it repeatedly.

He was the eldest son of the Labbe family, yet Tinsley didn’t even give him the time of day.

Fine. He’d wait.

One day, when she was his, he’d make sure she paid for it.

Married At First Sight Chapter 4214

Chapter 4214

Ring, ring, ring…

Timothy’s phone rang. It was his father.

Adjusting his expression, he answered while walking toward his car. “Dad.”

“Timothy, what’s going on? Any progress?”

Mr. Labbe was still in Carrie’s room, but he had stepped onto the balcony to make the call. Inside, Carrie lay fast asleep, her brows furrowed in discomfort.

She had barely gotten any rest last night. Mr. Labbe had kept her up for hours, showing no mercy.

She had begged him to stop, but he ignored her pleas, even forcing her to take some pills that left her barely conscious.

Carrie cursed him in her mind before drifting into uneasy sleep. She knew full well that to him, she was nothing more than a mistress—a tool for his pleasure. If she had been his wife, he wouldn’t have treated her this way.

Once, she had dreamed of replacing Mrs. Labbe, of becoming the real lady of the house. Now, she had no such ambitions.

She didn’t even want revenge on Serenity anymore. She just wanted to escape Mr. Labbe’s grasp.

But it was too late. She had boarded his ship, and there was no getting off.

She hadn’t even gotten involved willingly—he had forced her into it.

Meanwhile, Timothy let out a frustrated sigh. “Dad, Tinsley is impossible to crack. Honestly, I should’ve gone for Ainhoa Ormond instead. She just stepped into the real world. She’s young, inexperienced—easier to manipulate.”

He regretted picking Tinsley. He had been chasing her for ages with nothing to show for it.

Tinsley, if she had heard this, would have laughed coldly.

Manipulate her? Because she was young and naive?

Sorry, but she was anything but naive.

Growing up in the Ormond family had trained all the sisters to be wary of outsiders. Even their youngest sibling, who hadn’t yet come of age, was highly vigilant.

Especially around men.

Their older sisters constantly warned them not to fall for pretty faces. None of those men wanted them—they were after the Ormond fortune.

Mr. Labbe went silent for a moment before responding, “Ainhoa is too young. She has no real power in the family. Even if you married her, it wouldn’t bring the big benefits we need. Be patient. The Ormond sisters are guarded, but that’s to be expected.

“For now, forget about chasing a wife. Come back and deal with the family matters first. Those people are stirring up trouble again, demanding more of what we promised them. We already gave them what they wanted, but it’s never enough. They’re getting greedy.”

Mr. Labbe’s entire plan relied on securing support from certain people. He had convinced them to back him, promising them wealth and power in return.

Without incentives, they wouldn’t have risked their necks for him. If things went south, they could end up behind bars.

For now, he had to play along. But once he uncovered the hidden evidence against him, he’d eliminate every last one of them.

Mr. Labbe was not a man of his word. He never trusted those who worked for him. The only way to ensure silence was to get rid of them permanently.

Dead men told no tales.

Married At First Sight Chapter 4215

Chapter 4215

“Dad, you should have gotten rid of them all from the start and built a network of people loyal only to you.”

Timothy believed his father had made a mistake by keeping those people around.

Mr. Labbe shook his head. “There are too many of them. They’re our relatives and friends. We share the same goal. We can’t just eliminate them all at once.”

He had rallied them to overthrow the head of the family, erasing the entire bloodline—men, women, children, even the elderly.

The reason? They were all from collateral branches, envious of the direct line that had always held power. With a shared ambition, his plan succeeded.

He had waited more than a decade for the right moment to strike. But even after wiping out the direct bloodline, he still couldn’t claim the headship. The family seal, the sacred token, and the ancestral totem—without them, he was merely an acting head. Many loyalists still refused to obey him.

Even worse, he couldn’t gain control over much of the Labbe family’s wealth.

The family’s ancestors had anticipated power-hungry figures like him and created rules to prevent them from seizing control. Even exterminating the direct lineage wouldn’t make him the true leader.

It was maddening.

“Alright, I’ll head back later,” Timothy said.

His family’s affairs took priority over chasing his wife. He accepted his father’s orders without argument.

“Good. When you return, stop by the jewelry store and pick up the set I ordered for your mother. It’s a gift to make her happy.”

“How long will you be in Wiltspoon, Dad?” Timothy asked.

“Not sure. I met a person and want to establish a connection with him. The people backing him are incredibly powerful. Compared to them, our family is like an ant next to an elephant. There’s no competition.”

Timothy was intrigued. “Who could be so powerful that even we can’t compare? Dad, when you become the real head of the family, who could possibly surpass you?”

Right now, their power was limited because his father was only the acting head. The true elites and the most formidable bodyguards of the Labbe family only followed orders from the legitimate leader. Without the proper token and totem, they wouldn’t recognize his authority.

That was their biggest concern—those artifacts had been hidden by the previous head. The only person who might have them was the child who had escaped with the nanny.

If that child only had one of the artifacts, it would be even more infuriating.

The nanny had been dead for years. They had searched everywhere—her home, her family, even distant relatives—but the token was nowhere to be found.

“I still have things to take care of. You’re in charge of the family and business while I’m away. Handle things well—I trust you. Don’t let me down. One day, everything I’ve built will be yours.”

Mr. Labbe saw Timothy as his rightful successor, painting an enticing picture of the future to keep him loyal. He needed Timothy on his side—not turning against him to protect his wife’s interests.

If he did become the real head, he wouldn’t relinquish his power until his last breath.

He had dreamed of this position since childhood.

“I understand, Dad.”

“Good. That’s settled.”

Mr. Labbe hung up quickly, slid his phone back into his pocket, pulled out a cigarette, and lit up.

Married At First Sight Chapter 4216

Chapter 4216

After chain-smoking for a while, Mr. Labbe returned to his room.

Carrie was still asleep. He gazed at her with cold indifference—zero sympathy.

Standing by the bed, he looked down at her. No matter how much he had trained her, she was still useless.

If “Mrs. Labbe” hadn’t already been introduced to Serenity and others, making her identity known, he would have disposed of this worthless woman already.

Turning away, he left the room.

Carrie didn’t dare open her eyes until she heard the door close.

She had woken up during his phone call with Timothy but had stayed still, afraid he’d suspect her of eavesdropping.

Just moments ago, when he stood by her bed, she had felt the unmistakable chill of murderous intent in his gaze.

He was going to kill her—sooner or later.

Panic set in. She wanted to run, but where? Who would help her?

For a fleeting moment, she considered running to Camryn and confessing everything. But she dismissed the idea almost immediately.

Her current misery was Camryn’s fault. They were sworn enemies. One of them had to die.

Even if she perished, she would make sure to drag Camryn down with her.

York Corporation

In the president’s office, Zachary kept stealing glances at his pregnant wife.

Serenity had accompanied him to work today since she had a prenatal checkup scheduled at ten. As always, Zachary insisted on going with her. The workaholic he once was had completely transformed.

Now, he was a doting husband, treating his wife like the most precious thing in his life.

“Seren, do you want some water? Fruit? Snacks? What are you reading?”

Abandoning his work, he walked around the desk to sit beside her.

Serenity smiled at his fussing. “I’m reading one of those parenting books you bought. I already have water—remember, you poured me a glass as soon as we got here. And you brought me fruit and snacks too.”

She chuckled. “How many times are you going to ask the same thing?”

“I told you I could go to the checkup alone, but you insisted on coming. And now you’re too distracted to work. Having me here just throws you off.”

When Serenity was around, Zachary couldn’t focus on anything else.

“You’re not bothering me at all,” he countered, reaching for her cup. “But this water’s cold. Let me get you a fresh one.”

He picked up the cup and walked away, adding over his shoulder, “Really, I’m not busy at all.”

Married At First Sight Chapter 4217

Chapter 4217

Zachary was afraid Serenity wouldn’t stay in his office, so he made sure to emphasize that he wasn’t busy today.

He had adjusted his morning schedule long ago because he needed to accompany Serenity to her prenatal checkup.

His secretary knew the president’s wife’s checkup dates well. Whenever he saw the couple return together, he would discreetly adjust Zachary’s schedule. On checkup days, he often avoided booking anything at all. Even if plans were made, Zachary would have them canceled or rescheduled.

To Young Master York, his wife’s well-being came first.

His younger brothers could share the workload, and after years of carrying the weight of the family business, he felt it was time to take a step back. As for the company’s top executives, they could wait.

Everyone else was swamped, barely finding time for a sip of water, while the company president was more relaxed than ever—all to make room for his wife.

Before long, Zachary returned with a cup of warm water. He placed it in front of Serenity, then sat down beside her.

He glanced at the book she was reading and soon took it from her hands.

“You’ve been reading for too long. You need a break. Don’t strain your eyes,” he said.

Serenity watched him put the book aside and protested, “I haven’t been reading that long. I’m not tired at all.”

Zachary smirked. “Then look at me. I’m a year older now. Do I look older? Am I still as handsome?”

Serenity burst into laughter. She playfully smacked him and said, “You always make me laugh so hard my stomach hurts.”

“You’re a year older, and so am I. It’s not like I’m immortal,” she teased. “We’re in this together. When you celebrate the New Year, so do I.”

“In my eyes, my husband is always the most handsome man in the world. No one compares to you.”

She grinned, reached out to pinch his cheek, and then leaned in to give him a quick kiss.

Zachary, unsatisfied with just a peck, coaxed her into kissing his lips too. Since they were alone in the office, Serenity wasn’t shy. She kissed him as he wished, but when she tried to pull away, he wrapped his arms around her and deepened the kiss.

Afterward, Zachary placed his hand on her belly, gently patting it. With a low, hoarse voice, he murmured, “Little one, when you finally come out, I’m going to spank your little butt.”

He had been abstaining for months because of the pregnancy, and he blamed their baby for it.

Serenity chuckled. “What does this have to do with him? This is your fault. If it weren’t for you, he wouldn’t be here.”

She pinched his face again. She used to think his facial muscles were firm, but lately, they felt softer. Maybe he had gained some weight.

Studying him closely, she confirmed it—Zachary had put on a little weight.

“Haha, you’ve gained weight from drinking all that tonic soup meant for me,” she teased.

Zachary suddenly looked concerned. “Seren, do I really look older? You were just staring at me like you were inspecting something.”

Serenity laughed. “No, my husband still looks young. I just noticed your face is a bit softer. You’ve put on a little weight.”

Zachary let out a dramatic sigh. “It’s over. I’ve turned into a fat man.”

Serenity rolled her eyes. “You’ve only gained a few pounds, not enough to act like it’s the end of the world.”

Zachary groaned. “I’ll have to hit the gym more often.”

“You haven’t been going much lately,” Serenity pointed out.

Married At First Sight Chapter 4218

Chapter 4218

Ever since she became pregnant, Zachary had spent most of his free time with her, cutting down on workouts. It was only natural he gained a little weight.

Did he think he could eat endlessly and not gain a pound?

The only reason he had always maintained a model-like physique was because he worked out religiously.

“Ouch.”

Serenity suddenly cried out in pain.

Zachary panicked, nearly jumping out of his seat. “Is your stomach hurting? Are you going into labor? We need to get to the hospital!”

He was ready to scoop her up when she grabbed his hand.

“Zachary, don’t panic. It’s not time yet. How could I be in labor this soon? The baby just kicked me again. He’s kicking harder these days.”

As her pregnancy progressed, the baby had grown stronger. Sometimes, his kicks hurt.

Zachary exhaled, relieved. He had overreacted again.

This was his first time becoming a father, and he had no experience.

In the pregnancy group he had secretly joined, he had read stories of women giving birth prematurely—some as early as seven or eight months. The thought terrified him.

“There was a mom in the group who gave birth at 29 weeks just two days ago. The baby had to be put in an incubator,” Zachary confessed. “Seren, I keep having this dream where you suddenly go into labor. I rush to get you to the hospital, but I forget the car keys. I run back inside to find them, but I can’t remember where I put them. Then I try to call my family for help, but I can’t even remember their numbers. I wake up sweating every time.”

Hearing this, Serenity didn’t find it funny—she was touched.

She pulled him back down beside her and spoke softly. “Don’t stress so much. I’ve been going to all my checkups, and the doctor says everything is normal. I won’t have a premature birth for no reason.

“The woman in your group probably had complications. Some women have babies too close together. If she had a C-section with her first baby and got pregnant again too soon, her body wouldn’t have had time to recover. That might have caused the early labor.

“Not every pregnant woman goes through that. My health is good, and this is my first baby. There’s no reason to expect anything to go wrong. Stop overthinking it and scaring yourself.”

Serenity leaned into him, wrapped her arms around him, and whispered, “Husband, everything will be fine.”

“I keep telling myself not to worry, but I just can’t help it,” Zachary admitted. He pulled her into his embrace, feeling helpless.

He loved her too much. From the moment he learned she was pregnant, he had been both overjoyed and anxious.

Now, he finally understood why Clive had considered not having kids when he saw how much his wife, Alice, suffered through morning sickness.

There were moments when Zachary himself wondered if it was all worth it—watching Serenity endure so much, feeling powerless to help.

But now, with just two months left until the baby’s arrival, it was too late for regrets. He could only continue to worry—and do his best to prepare for fatherhood.

Married At First Sight Chapter 4219

Chapter 4219

After the baby was born, Zachary put everything he had learned over the past few months into practice. He was determined to be a good father.

Serenity loosened her arms around him and shifted to her side.

Zachary let go of her, allowing her to move comfortably.

Then, she showered his face with countless small kisses.

“Husband, as long as you’re here, the baby and I will be just fine. Don’t worry too much.” After kissing him, Serenity reassured him gently.

“You’re my rock. If you get nervous, I’ll get nervous too, and that’s not good.”

Hearing this, Zachary immediately responded, “Seren, don’t worry. I’ll protect you. Okay, I won’t be nervous anymore.”

He placed his hand on her rounded belly. “This little one seems more settled—not as restless as before.”

He had noticed that the baby’s movements weren’t as strong.

Serenity had felt plenty of movement but chose not to say anything. She knew if she did, Zachary would start worrying again.

After spending some quiet time together, Serenity urged him to take care of his work.

“We’ll be heading to the hospital soon. Should I go alone?”

“No way. I’ve been with you for every checkup. How could I miss this one?” Zachary insisted.

Serenity sighed. “Alright, you can come. But finish what you need to do first. I’ll read for a while.”

Zachary kissed her cheek before heading to his desk to get back to work.

As she read, a thought crossed Serenity’s mind. She grabbed her phone from her bag and called Liberty.

When Liberty answered, Serenity asked, “Sis, how’s Kathryn doing? Has the fever gone down?”

The knife wound on Kathryn’s right arm wasn’t serious, but she had caught a severe cold from being out in the sea breeze. Even after her fever broke, she was still coughing badly.

“The fever’s gone, but her cough is terrible. She’s on an IV and taking medicine, but it won’t go away,” Liberty said.

“Coughs take time to heal. Let’s wait a couple more days. Dr. Carden is coming to check on Camryn soon. I’ll ask if she’s willing to take a look at Kathryn too.”

“This is the best hospital in Jensburg. Coughs are tricky—they take time. We’ll wait and see,” Liberty replied.

Dr. Carden might not be willing to see Kathryn, especially since she was still staying in the hospital.

Meanwhile, Lilian had no complaints about constantly flying around treating people. She didn’t care whether the illness was big or small—if someone called for her, she was happy to go. She simply didn’t want to stay home and be a mother.

Fabian, on the other hand, was crying even louder these days. He had been spoiled by the old doctor, and if no one was holding him, he would cry nonstop. Even holding him wasn’t enough—he needed to be walked around and taken outside. The moment he was brought back indoors, he would cry again. Even on rainy days, someone had to hold an umbrella and take him out.

Tim grumbled about how neither he nor his wife had ever been the playful type, yet their son couldn’t stand being indoors.

Lilian knew better. She had been just like Fabian as a child—always running around, getting into trouble, and messing with the master’s herbs. Her son had definitely inherited that side of her.

Liberty asked, “How’s Sonny?”

Lately, Liberty had been preoccupied, with her nerves on edge ever since Kathryn’s ordeal. She hadn’t had time to check in on Sonny.

Married At First Sight Chapter 4220

Chapter 4220

“Sonny’s doing well, but it seems like he’s distanced himself from the Brown family again,” Serenity said. “He still answers when Hank calls, but whenever his grandparents visit, he looks annoyed and doesn’t want to go over. He won’t even pick up their calls.”

Hank’s mother and sister must have been badmouthing Liberty and Duncan in front of Sonny again, pushing him away.

During the New Year, Sonny had started warming up to the Brown family. But who would have guessed that those two would ruin it again?

Sonny wasn’t particularly close to Hank either.

Privately, he had told Serenity that his father wasn’t as strong as Uncle Duncan.

He probably meant that Hank had never been able to manage his family properly, wasn’t assertive enough, and always let his emotions cloud his judgment.

It wasn’t that Duncan didn’t care about his family—he did. But he had his own principles and didn’t let his family dictate his actions.

Hank, on the other hand, was weak in comparison.

“People rarely change,” Liberty said. “I had a long talk with Hank. His mother and sister are his family—what can he do?”

Back when she and Hank were still married, he had never known how to mediate conflicts. Instead, he would side with his family, insisting that they had a hard life and asking her to be more understanding.

When his parents were hospitalized, he had claimed he was too busy with work and expected her to take care of them instead. In short, Hank had always outsourced his responsibilities.

He had changed a little after everything that had happened, but deep down, he was still the same. That wasn’t something that could be completely altered.

“Seren, does Aunt Audrey know about Kathryn’s injury?” Liberty asked.

“Yeah, I told her.”

Liberty made sure Serenity stayed updated on everything happening in Jensburg. And even if she hadn’t, Jim would have told her. Jim was loyal to Zachary, and if Serenity wanted to know something, he wouldn’t hesitate to share it.

“What did Aunt Audrey say?” Liberty asked.

“She was quiet for a moment, then said that Kathryn is a strong person and encouraged you to visit her more often. She also mentioned that when Kathryn and Mr. Fraser get married, she wants to attend the wedding.”

“I visit Kathryn every day. I’ve also been asking her for advice on a lot of things.”

Even though Kathryn had never officially taken over as the Farrell family head, she had been learning from Clarissa for the past three years and had already begun transitioning into the role.

“Kathryn mentioned that after the transition, she might settle in Wiltspoon. She doesn’t like harsh winters.”

Serenity had her doubts. No matter how reasonable Kathryn seemed, she was still Clarissa’s daughter. And Clarissa’s death had created an unbridgeable gap between Kathryn and the others.

Kathryn was rational, but at the end of the day, Serenity had her own priorities. Being pregnant, she barely had the energy to handle her own affairs, let alone anyone else’s.

Some things simply weren’t hers to worry about.
