Married At First Sight Chapter 4091

Chapter 4091

After Victoria hung up, Abby shot Spencer a sharp glare.

Spencer, looking utterly puzzled, asked, “Abby, why are you looking at me like that? What did I do wrong?”

“Brother Spencer, you didn’t technically do anything wrong,” Abby said, her tone laced with frustration. “But I understand why Victoria’s disappointed and why she said she’d leave you to me. You won’t even call her or send her a message? All you did was post to your circle of friends! What if she blocks you there? She wouldn’t see anything!”

Spencer hesitated, instinctively responding, “She wouldn’t block me, right? I mean… if she did…”

He trailed off, suddenly unsure of himself.

Evan, quietly observing their exchange, quickly pegged Spencer as indecisive when it came to relationships.

This guy doesn’t seem like much of a threat, Evan thought.

Still, he stayed cautious, keeping Spencer firmly in the category of potential rival.

Abby didn’t let Spencer off the hook, pressing on. “If Victoria blocked your circle of friends, it’d mean she’s one step away from blacklisting and deleting you altogether.”

Spencer’s face fell, the shift in his expression betraying how much he cared.

“Brother Spencer, it’s simple. If you won’t even send her a message or make a call, then you’re essentially pushing Victoria out of your life. Are you really okay with breaking up and never speaking to her again?”

Spencer’s complexion turned even paler.

Breaking up? Never speaking again? That wasn’t what he wanted.

He was just… lost. Unsure of how to navigate things with Victoria. That’s why he couldn’t bring himself to text or call her. Posting to his circle of friends felt safer—he figured Victoria checked it regularly, and if he posted something, she’d see it.

At least she’d know he was okay.

Beyond that, he hadn’t given it much thought.

“Abby, let’s eat first,” Evan interjected, breaking the tension. “Mr. Chouinard just got back, and you said he wanted to leave right away.”

His tone was calm but firm—a gentle reminder to focus on the meal instead of dissecting Spencer and Victoria’s relationship at the table.

Abby sighed, giving Evan a meaningful look. He understood immediately.

“Let’s eat,” he said. “We’ll deal with everything after we’re done.”

Abby nodded but turned back to Spencer. “Brother Spencer, let me know when you’ve made up your mind.”

Spencer looked at her but stayed silent.

Abby pressed on. “I really like Victoria. If your feelings for her are just friendly, then I’ll help my eldest cousin win her over. I’d love for her to be my sister-in-law.”

Spencer’s expression darkened. “…Your eldest cousin? Isn’t he older than me? Even if he’s not married yet, shouldn’t he at least have a girlfriend by now? Is something wrong with him? Or… does he like men? He’s not exactly young anymore, you know.”

Abby’s face twitched in exasperation. “My eldest cousin is perfectly fine! He’s absolutely a normal man. Victoria is my mother’s goddaughter—my godsister. Why would I introduce her to someone unsuitable?”

“And for the record,” she continued, her voice rising slightly, “there’s no one in the Du family who’s ‘bad.’ It’s not about lacking ability; they just don’t settle for less. I wouldn’t dream of introducing Victoria to someone unworthy.

“If you don’t want to be with her, Brother Spencer, I’ll step in and bring my eldest cousin and Victoria together. No matter what’s happening with her family’s company, my Du Group will back her up. I won’t let my eldest cousin stand by and do nothing.”

Married At First Sight Chapter 4092

Chapter 4092

Spencer said, “…Abby, I’m not some heartless or ungrateful person.”

He had done his best to help Victoria’s family.

The real issue was his parents. They believed Victoria’s family business was struggling and worried it would become a burden on him. Because of this, they stopped supporting his relationship with her.

His mother’s constant nagging only made things worse. Hearing it every day wore him down, leaving him confused and unsure of what to do.

Adding to the turmoil, Spencer hadn’t sorted out his own feelings.

Was his bond with Victoria just friendship, or was it love?

When things got overwhelming, his company assigned him to return to Huyoniville to take over the domestic business. He saw it as an opportunity to step back and reflect. Did he love Victoria, or were they simply childhood friends?

But when Abby mentioned pairing Victoria with the eldest young master of the Du family, Spencer felt a pang of panic. That fear of losing her clarified his feelings.

He realized he wasn’t just fond of Victoria—he loved her.

Evan chimed in, saying, “Mr. Chouinard, Abby told me you and Victoria have been childhood sweethearts for over 20 years. That kind of history comes with layers—family affection, friendship, and love all mixed together. It’s no wonder you’re feeling conflicted.

“But if the thought of breaking up with her hurts, then it’s clear how you feel.

“When you truly love someone and they’re worthy of your love, no obstacle is too great. You’ll work through anything together to stay by their side.

“For me, once I fall for someone, nothing about her—her circumstances, her identity, or any changes in her life—could make me give up on her. If she faces challenges, I’ll do whatever it takes to help her overcome them.”

As Evan finished speaking, he fixed his gaze on Abby, his eyes filled with intensity. It was clear he was confessing his feelings to her.

Abby, however, didn’t respond. She didn’t even look at him.

Instead, she silently focused on her meal.

Her lack of response didn’t discourage Evan. He was confident that she understood what he meant.

The three finished their meal, each lost in their own thoughts.

Evan went to pay the bill.

After lingering in the restaurant for a few more minutes, the trio headed out and walked to the parking lot.

Evan carried Spencer’s suitcase as they made their way to the car.

He kept a deliberate distance, slowing his pace to give Abby and Spencer some space to talk.

Evan wanted Abby to feel assured. Even if they were together, she would still have her independence—her own space to interact freely with others.

He trusted her. Abby was sensible, and he believed she wouldn’t do anything to betray that trust.

Once they were in the car, Spencer, looking tired, said to Abby, “Abby, I’m going to take a nap. Wake me up when we get home.”

Abby, seated in the passenger seat, turned to look at him and said, “Rest up, Brother Spencer. I’ll wake you when we’re home.”

Spencer quickly fell asleep.

About half an hour into the drive, Evan glanced at Abby and asked, “Is your brother Spencer asleep?”

Abby turned to check on Spencer, then replied, “Yeah, he’s asleep. Why do you ask?”

Evan shrugged. “No reason. I’m just curious about him and Victoria. You said they were childhood sweethearts, but now they’re having issues. Is it because of problems with Victoria’s family business?

“If that’s the reason they’re not together, it’s kind of a shame.”

Married At First Sight Chapter 4093

Chapter 4093

Abby sighed softly and murmured, “If that’s really the reason, then maybe it’s better for them to cut ties completely. The Chouinard family already looks down on Victoria. Even if Brother Spencer insists on being with her, she’ll face constant disapproval from her in-laws after marrying into his family.

“A woman who isn’t accepted by her in-laws will have a hard time. Unless she doesn’t live with them and her husband supports her unconditionally, she’ll constantly feel out of place. Otherwise, it’s just a recipe for conflict. Small arguments will happen every few days, and big fights will follow shortly after. Even the strongest relationships can fall apart under that kind of pressure.”

Evan frowned slightly and asked, “If that’s how you feel, why are you still pushing for them to stay together? Are you worried that the elders will try to match you and Spencer instead?”

Abby shot him a wry smile. “That’s just wishful thinking on your part, isn’t it? Don’t flatter yourself. I loved you once, sure, but you made it clear I wasn’t the one you wanted. We’ve moved on from that—completely. At best, we’re just friends now. And the only reason I’m even nice to you is out of respect for your grandmother.”

“Abby, I’m sorry,” Evan said quietly. He didn’t try to explain further, offering only a simple apology.

His response left Abby at a loss for words.

“I just want Brother Spencer and Victoria to make their decision without regrets,” she finally said. “If they can decide to face the challenges together, they’ll figure it out. The two families have known each other for decades, and both mothers have been best friends for just as long. If Spencer and Victoria stand united, the elders will eventually respect their choice.

“Victoria wouldn’t have to suffer in the Chouinard family. I’d make sure of that. I can help her family through their difficulties. I wouldn’t let her be put in a position where she feels inferior in Spencer’s home. She’s like a sister to me, and Spencer is my brother—they’re both incredibly important to me.”

Evan nodded thoughtfully. “That makes sense. Missing out on love can leave a person with regrets for the rest of their life.”

Abby leaned back in her seat, her voice softening. “I’m going to nap for a bit. Wake us both when we get home.”

Evan smiled. “Alright, go ahead and rest.”

Abby tilted her head, her gaze lingering on him for a moment. “How are you this good-looking? Even your side profile is so perfect, it’s ridiculous.”

Evan chuckled, his tone playful. “It’s so I can be worthy of you.”

Abby rolled her eyes and shook her head. “I don’t even know why I bother talking to you.”

With that, she closed her eyes, ending the conversation.

Jensburg.

The gates to the Farrell family mansion were wide open.

Since Clarissa’s death, the gates were rarely left like this. It was unusual to see them open during the day.

Normally, the gates were only opened when Kathryn returned. She’d drive her car in, and they’d shut immediately behind her.

But despite being back in her family home, Kathryn had never truly felt like she belonged there.

She hadn’t grown up with her biological parents. In fact, she’d only lived in the Farrell family mansion for two or three years, and the place still didn’t feel like home.

Married At First Sight Chapter 4094

Chapter 4094

When Kathryn first returned to the Farrell family, her parents were blatantly biased toward Shiloh. Her brothers and sisters-in-law only showed her superficial kindness, and she never felt any warmth in this house. It was an environment she struggled to adjust to.

Still, as Clarissa’s biological daughter, Kathryn had no choice but to endure and stay there.

Because of this, Kathryn never developed a deep emotional attachment to the Farrell family mansion.

The brothers didn’t feel strongly about the mansion either.

They all knew the Farrell family mansion wasn’t a place they could stay forever. Even so, it was the house where they were born and raised. Many of them had spent 30 to 40 years here, even after getting married. To say they had no attachment at all would be a lie.

Now, with Kathryn taking charge, they couldn’t shake the feeling that she was about to hand over their home to someone else.

Last night, Jensburg had its first snowfall of the new year, leaving everything blanketed in white.

The servants had already cleared the snow from the driveway, making it easier for cars to come and go.

Kathryn stood at the mansion’s entrance, dressed in a stunning red gown and draped in a luxurious red fox fur cape. Pedro, dressed in black, stood quietly beside her.

After a while, several cars slowly pulled up in front of the mansion.

The lead car, carrying bodyguards, came to a stop. The guards stepped out first, scanning the area.

Liberty soon emerged from the second car.

“Liberty, you’re here.”

Kathryn smiled warmly as she walked toward her.

Liberty returned the smile and approached Kathryn. Soon, the two stood face to face.

Looking Kathryn up and down, Liberty smiled and said, “Kathryn, you look absolutely stunning today. That red dress really makes you shine against the snowy backdrop.”

Kathryn laughed softly. “Oh? Am I not beautiful every other day?”

“You’re always beautiful, but today is exceptional,” Liberty teased. Then she turned to Pedro with a playful grin and said, “Mr. Fraser, don’t you think Kathryn looks especially captivating today? Has she swept you off your feet?”

Pedro’s eyes lit up as he looked at Kathryn. His voice was gentle as he replied, “To me, the young lady is always the most beautiful. No matter what she wears, she’s breathtaking.”

Kathryn rolled her eyes at Liberty and said, “Liberty, you’re getting too bold. Don’t forget, I’m your elder. Teasing me like this is hardly respectful.”

Despite her words, Kathryn affectionately looped her arm through Liberty’s. “Come on, let’s go inside. Did you pack everything and bring it with you? From now on, this is your home—your territory.

“I’ve invited the family elders to dinner tonight. We’ll discuss everything and pick a good day for you to lead the clan in worshiping the ancestors. Once that’s done, the handover will be complete.”

Liberty would officially become the new head of the Jensburg Farrell family after leading the clan in the ancestral worship ceremony.

The two women walked into the mansion, chatting as they went. Pedro and Liberty’s bodyguards trailed behind them.

Liberty’s bodyguard team had originally been Kathryn’s. Years ago, the eldest master officially reassigned the team to Liberty. Kathryn had been a bit upset about the transfer, but Liberty eased the blow by offering higher salaries and promising to help the guards find good matches for marriage.

Pedro, like the others, quickly warmed up to the idea. Liberty’s assurances that she’d help him settle down made him embrace the transition wholeheartedly. After all, there were plenty of beautiful women in Jensburg.

Before, Kathryn and the other guards had avoided dating. As personal bodyguards to the eldest master, they were constantly under his watch. Many people had tried to use them as a way to get closer to the master, and none of the guards wanted to fall victim to such schemes.

But seeing the passionate and enduring love of the eldest master and the other young masters had stirred something in Pedro. He, too, wanted to experience love. His mother frequently reminded him that it was time to settle down and get married.

“Kathryn, don’t rush it. I’m still getting a full grasp of the company’s situation. There’s a lot I don’t understand yet. We can discuss it once I’ve settled in,” Liberty said, her tone steady.

Liberty wasn’t in any rush to take full control of the Farrell family’s affairs.

Though the Farrell Group wasn’t as strong as it once was, it was still much larger than the businesses and restaurants Liberty had run on her own. The company, with its decades-long history, also had its share of unresolved issues.

She knew that she and Kathryn would need to collaborate closely to work through them.

Chapter 4095

Kathryn noticed Liberty’s unease, likely stemming from the thought of running the Farrell family alone once she assumed leadership. Offering reassurance, Kathryn smiled and said, “I’ll continue to help you until you’re fully ready to take over. Once that happens, I’ll step away.”

Over the past two or three years, Kathryn had gained significant experience in managing the Farrell family, far surpassing Liberty’s knowledge.

Liberty, having only been in Jensburg for a few months, still had a lot to learn. When she first arrived, her focus was on her new company, leaving her unfamiliar with the Farrell family’s inner workings.

Back when Clarissa was alive, she had been extremely guarded toward Liberty, ensuring that Liberty remained uninformed about many family matters. As a result, Liberty now found herself in the dark, struggling to grasp the complexities of the Farrell family.

“I know you won’t leave right away,” Liberty admitted. “But I still have so much to learn. If I take over now, I won’t have the credibility to lead. Let’s wait until I’ve gained more familiarity with everything.”

Kathryn proposed, “How about Qingming? I’ll lead the family to the ancestral worship ceremony, and that can serve as a transitional moment.”

With Qingming still one or two months away, it would give Liberty time to prepare.

Liberty hesitated, then replied, “Qingming sounds fine for the ceremony, but I don’t think I should officially take over the leadership role then.”

Kathryn nodded thoughtfully. “How about this: we’ll set an earlier date for the formal handover, and you can lead the family to the ancestral ceremony on Qingming. Does that work?”

After some thought, Liberty agreed. “Alright, that sounds reasonable.”

She then added, “Kathryn, could you stay for another year or two? You wouldn’t have to be involved in the day-to-day operations. You could focus on your own things while still being here to guide me.”

Kathryn smiled warmly. “Let’s see how things go. Seren is about to have her baby, right? I’ll stay until after the baby is born. Once the baby turns one month old, I’ll come back to Wiltspoon for the celebration, and then I’ll leave.”

“She’s over seven months pregnant now,” Liberty said. “So, her due date is a little over two months away. Of course, due dates aren’t always exact—some babies arrive early, others later.”

Liberty secretly hoped to gain enough confidence and experience before her sister Serenity gave birth. That way, she could free up time to return to Wiltspoon.

When Serenity went into labor, Liberty intended to stay by her side until Serenity was discharged from the hospital and had settled in at home with the baby. She planned to return to Jensburg after that, but when the baby turned one month old, she would return to Wiltspoon to celebrate with Kathryn.

As they continued their conversation, the two women entered the stunning main house and settled on the plush sofa.

Jim, Liberty’s trusted bodyguard, followed them into the house. The other guards stayed outside, keeping watch. Jim, who had been with Liberty the longest and was assigned to her by her sister Serenity, was deeply trusted.

Meanwhile, Pedro, Kathryn’s indispensable assistant, brought water and fruit for both Kathryn and Liberty. Over time, Pedro had become inseparable from Kathryn, always handling her needs with precision.

Suddenly, loud shouting erupted from outside.

“Kathryn! Kathryn! Get out here!”

The yelling was unmistakable—it was Kathryn’s three brothers.

Kathryn had previously issued strict orders barring them from entering the Farrell family mansion freely. In the past, she had their belongings packed up and delivered to them, fearing they might strip the mansion of its valuables.

Now, the mansion was staffed entirely with new personnel. None of the old staff who had been loyal to Clarissa remained. Audrey, Liberty, and Kathryn had carefully selected the current household staff.

Kathryn had taken a hands-off approach, only choosing a few individuals herself. She reassured Liberty that once Liberty moved in, she could replace any of Kathryn’s picks if she wasn’t satisfied with them.

Chapter 4096

“Kathryn, your brothers are causing trouble again,” Liberty said. “Do you want me to go out and handle them? After all, they’re your family. Maybe you should consider maintaining some connection with them. What if, in the future, you find yourself with no bridge left to cross?”

Kathryn gave a bitter smile. “Family? What kind of relationship do I have with them? They’ve always sought to take me down. If they held the upper hand and I was at a disadvantage, I’d probably be long gone by now. They wouldn’t hesitate to destroy me.”

Her voice grew colder. “They never wanted me back in the Farrell family. They fought to keep me out and insisted Shiloh stay in my place. They were willing to perpetuate lies rather than let their own sister reclaim her rightful position.

“Yes, we share the same blood, but relationships don’t grow without effort. The time for building any bond with them is long gone. When I came back, their loyalty was already with Shiloh. They would prefer I didn’t exist.

“When I leave Jensburg, I’ll only send my dad a small monthly allowance out of duty. If you think it’s unnecessary, I won’t even do that. My mother’s will states that my three brothers and I are jointly responsible for his care. But as far as they’re concerned, I’m done. I’ll sever all ties with them.”

Kathryn picked up the glass of warm water Pedro had poured for her, took a sip, and then put it down. Rising from her seat, she said firmly, “I’ll go out and see what they want.”

“I’m coming with you,” Liberty replied, following her outside.

At the gate of the Farrell family mansion, Marco and his two brothers stood beside their car, shouting insults and curses.

“Kathryn, you’ll die a terrible death!” one of them yelled. “You’ve handed over our family’s legacy to an outsider!”

The commotion attracted some members of the Farrell clan who lived nearby. They bundled up against the cold and gathered at a distance, curious to see what was happening.

“Kathryn, do you really plan to let Liberty move in?” Marco shouted as he saw her approach. “What gives you the right to make that decision? Did Mom agree to this? Did you even ask us?”

“This is our home too, Kathryn!” another brother chimed in. “You have no right to make decisions on your own.”

Turning to Liberty, Marco shouted, “Ms. Hunt, let me make one thing clear: this mansion is our family’s home! If you move in, you’ll be taking what doesn’t belong to you!”

Kathryn and Liberty walked closer, ignoring the growing crowd of onlookers.

Liberty turned to her bodyguards, smirking. “What are my bodyguards doing, gentlemen?”

The three brothers glanced at the guards, who were unloading Liberty’s belongings from the car.

“That’s right,” Liberty said. “They’re moving my things. I’m done living in hotels. This is my home now, and I’ll live here from now on. The Farrell family is my family, and I’ll be taking over as its leader. This was already discussed in the family meeting, and everyone there heard it clearly.”

Marco’s face flushed with anger. “That meeting doesn’t count! It’s invalid! The Farrell family belongs to us—my mother was the head of this family!”

Liberty’s smile didn’t falter. “Your mother is dead, Marco. She’s no longer the head of anything. And let’s be clear—she was never officially the head of the family to begin with.

“You claim the Farrell family belongs to your family? Mr. Janzen, what’s your last name again? It’s not Farrell. Even if you wanted to take your mother’s surname, you’re still a man, and in this family, that means nothing is passed down to you.”

The brothers fell silent, glaring at Liberty and Kathryn.

Kathryn stood quietly, her expression icy and detached, saying nothing as she stared at them.

Marco’s face twisted with rage, his fists clenching as dark thoughts crossed his mind.

He wanted them gone—both Kathryn and Liberty.

His mind raced with sinister ideas. He thought of his mother’s ruthless tactics and vowed to follow in her footsteps. If he could get rid of these two women, he could rewrite the rules and claim control of the Farrell family for himself.

Married At First Sight Chapter 4097

Chapter 4097

“Kathryn!” Marco’s expression darkened as he addressed her with a grave tone. He asked coldly, “I’ll ask you one last time—are you really planning to hand over everything that belongs to the Farrell family to Liberty?”

Kathryn responded firmly, “This is Mom’s life’s work!”

Marco snapped, “If you don’t want it, then hand everything over to us. We’d gladly take it. At least that way, Mom’s legacy won’t become someone else’s victory trophy.”

Kathryn met Marco’s gaze and replied calmly, “Brother, I’ve told you countless times—Farrell’s legacy rightfully belongs to Liberty and her lineage. Mom took it, but it was never truly hers. I believe she regretted it before she passed.

“Our branch of the family has lost the trust of the people. Even if we refuse to let Liberty take over, do you really think it would be your turn? There are plenty of ambitious young women in the clan who’d fight for the position.

“Instead of letting it fall into their hands, it’s better to return everything to Aunt’s descendants. I believe Liberty has what it takes to lead the family. Everyone supports her and is willing to follow her as head of the Farrell family. She’s the one who can lead us out of this mess and restore the family to its former glory.”

Kathryn paused before adding, “Liberty has strong backers, including some of the most powerful families. Even in Jensburg, she has the Queen family’s support. And you know how influential the Queen family is—on par with the York family in Wiltspoon.”

Marco clenched his teeth and hissed, “Kathryn, if you’re going to be this stubborn, then we have nothing left to say. From this day forward, we’re no longer siblings. Don’t blame us for what happens next.”

Without waiting for Kathryn to respond, Marco turned to his two younger brothers and ordered, “Let’s go.”

“Brother…”

Marco shot them a stern look and repeated, “I said, let’s go. Don’t make them throw us out.”

Reluctantly, the two younger brothers followed their eldest brother, watching as he stormed to his car and drove off. They quickly got into their own car and followed him.

Marco drove with purpose, his frustration evident, heading toward their hometown. The two younger brothers were confused but didn’t dare question him. They simply followed in silence.

By the time they reached the Janzen family’s old house, it was already evening.

Holden, their relative, had just finished dinner and was sitting on the sofa, watching TV.

The old house, while not as grand or expansive as the Farrell family mansion, was still impressive compared to the surrounding homes. It was a self-built villa with modest front and back yards—enough space for Holden to grow flowers and maintain a small garden.

Holden’s children ensured he lived comfortably, regularly sending him money. His retirement was peaceful, and his lifestyle was considered enviable in the area. Neighbors frequently dropped by for visits, and Holden’s days were filled with quiet contentment.

This sense of comfort came not just from his surroundings, but from the fact that this was his home—a place where he felt he truly belonged.

No matter how luxurious the Farrell family mansion was, it had never felt like home to him. He had only lived there because of his connection to Clarissa. Even Clarissa herself had planned to leave the mansion had she not been able to secure the family’s leadership position for her daughter. It was tradition—the new family head would move in with their spouse and children, turning the mansion into their home.

The Farrell mansion wasn’t just a residence; it was steeped in the family’s history, a place that held memories for generations. But for Holden, the Janzen family’s old house offered something far more precious—a genuine sense of belonging.

Holden’s modest villa was well-maintained. He even hired two housekeepers to manage the chores, as his children’s financial support allowed him to live comfortably.

His extended family in the area, though not as wealthy or powerful as the elite families in Jensburg, still fared well. Their success and unity were largely thanks to Holden’s sacrifices—sacrifices that included his freedom, his happiness, and even acts of self-harm.

Since his return to his hometown, his siblings, nieces, and nephews had shown him immense respect and care. They visited regularly, brought gifts, shared meals, and spent time with him. Their warmth made his retirement life fulfilling in a way that the grandeur of the Farrell family mansion never could.

Married At First Sight Chapter 4098

Chapter 4098

Holden knew deep down why they had come—they were here for Kathryn. After all, Kathryn was his biological daughter.

They believed Kathryn would take control of the Farrell family, elevating his status as the family patriarch. In their eyes, he would become more powerful than ever, reigning as the elder of the Farrell clan.

But Holden hadn’t shared the internal strife of the Farrell family with his hometown relatives.

He saw no point in telling them. They couldn’t do anything to help, and he feared that revealing the truth might make them distance themselves. He cherished the lively, bustling life he had now and didn’t want to lose it.

“Grandpa, the three young masters are here,” the nanny informed Holden as she entered the room.

Holden had insisted that the nanny call him “Grandpa.” Without Clarissa around to overshadow him, he wanted to embrace the role of an elder for once, relishing the respect and warmth that came with it.

“Why are they back again?” Holden frowned. “I’ve told them not to return. They weren’t happy staying in our hometown, and now they keep coming back every few days.”

“Are it just the three brothers?”

Despite his frustrations, Holden’s thoughts turned to his grandchildren.

He suspected his older grandchildren knew the truth about the Farrell family drama and were likely filled with resentment toward their aunt Kathryn and Liberty. The younger ones, blissfully unaware, were still easier to deal with.

His eldest son’s children lived with their mother after the divorce. With her guidance, Holden was confident they would secure a future in Jensburg. So long as they weren’t raised with a thirst for revenge, people in places like Wiltspoon, known for their generosity, wouldn’t hold a grudge against them. They could carve out normal lives, find stable jobs, and settle into the rhythm of a nine-to-five life.

“Yes, only the three brothers are here,” the nanny confirmed.

Holden muttered to himself and gestured for her to continue her tasks. He remained seated, waiting for his three sons to come inside.

Moments later, Marco, Noel, and Sage entered the house.

Marco quickly noticed the nanny and addressed her, “Auntie, could you give us some privacy? We need to talk to our dad.”

“Of course.”

Understanding how much wealthy families valued their privacy, the nanny quietly left the room.

Once she was gone, Marco and his brothers each found a seat near their father.

“Dad,” Marco started.

Holden turned toward them, his tone sharp and laced with sarcasm. “What is it this time? Did your sister throw you out? It’s only the start of the year, and you’re already so eager to return to work? Seems like a waste of your excitement.”

Without waiting for a response, Holden continued.

“How many times have I told you to stay out of Jensburg and focus on building a life here in our hometown? With the wealth you already have, you could live comfortably here. Buy a few more buildings, invest in some shops, and live off the rent.

“The Farrell family? Forget about it. That legacy was never ours. Even if your mother were still alive, it wouldn’t be yours. The rules of the Farrell family have stood strong for over a century—you really think the three of you can change that? Keep dreaming.

“Look at this house. It’s a villa, with front and back yards. It may not be as grand or sprawling as the Farrell family mansion, but it’s ours. And here, I feel at home.”

Marco sat in silence for a moment, then leaned forward, his voice low and deliberate. “Dad, I want to get rid of Kathryn and Liberty.”

Holden froze, stunned by his son’s words.

Noel and Sage exchanged uneasy glances. They shared Marco’s resentment toward their sister and Liberty, but when it came to actually eliminating them, they hesitated. The thought was too much, even for them.

Married At First Sight Chapter 4099

Chapter 4099

Killing someone means paying with your life.

The people they wanted dead were Kathryn and Liberty. If they went through with it, they’d be caught within two days. After that, the law would deliver its verdict—the death penalty.

What’s the point of that?

All they wanted was everything the Farrell family had.

But if they were sentenced to death, everything they coveted would simply go to someone else.

Sage said, “Brother, killing someone means paying with your life. If we go that far, we won’t escape either. What’s the point?”

Noel responded, “What if our plan doesn’t work and we end up dead instead? They’ve got plenty of backers and powerful connections. Killing them might not be as simple as we think.”

Marco interjected, “Mom pulled it off. We’re her sons. She raised us with everything she had. Are we saying we’re not as good as Mom?”

Sage whispered, “We’re not as good as Mom. Honestly, we’re not even as good as Kathryn.”

Marco glared at Sage, anger simmering. He thought Sage was undermining their confidence and boosting the enemy’s morale.

Finally, Holden spoke up. His voice carried authority. “Marco, Sage is right. You failed to kill them because of bad luck. Even if you’d succeeded and both of them were dead, do you think that’s the end of it? Wiltspoon has plenty of people who could step in.

“Do you have the capability to wipe them all out? Can you guarantee no mistakes and no one finding out? There are countless women in the Farrell family’s side branches. It’ll never be your turn.”

Holden paused, letting his words sink in before continuing.

“Stop bringing up your mother. She was the sister of the family head, trusted because of her upbringing. On top of that, the head’s failing health gave her the chance to scheme and slowly execute her plans.

“Even so, decades later, the truth came out. She died in disgrace. Your branch has lost the Farrell family’s support. Even if you manage to claim power, you’ll never have full legitimacy or the support of everyone. It’ll only make your downfall quicker.

“My advice? Stop being stubborn. Give up everything here in the city. Go back to your hometown and start fresh. It’s doing well now.

“Sell all your properties here—your houses, your shops. Take what little inheritance your mother left you and go back. Buy a few villas, maybe some buildings and stores. Live off the rental income. You’ll be far better off than most people.”

Holden’s gaze hardened as he delivered his final point.

“Think about your mother. For all her power and ruthlessness, what was her end? And you? You can’t even handle Kathryn, let alone Liberty, who’s backed by several powerful families. Those people are untouchable. Dr. Carden alone is enough to keep your mother at bay. You three stand no chance against Liberty, let alone replacing her.”

Holden’s tone softened as he added, “Marco, listen to me. In this world, the one person who truly loves you and wants the best for you is me—your father.

“If you still can’t let it go, then hide. Wait for the right moment. As the saying goes, revenge is a dish best served cold.”

Marco’s face turned pale. He was desperate to eliminate those people, but his father’s words felt like a cold bucket of water, extinguishing his fire.

The plan seemed impossible.

“Dad, in ten years, Liberty will have firmly established herself,” Marco said, his voice heavy with despair. “I just can’t accept this. Why? Why should we give up everything to Liberty?”

“Damn Kathryn!”

Marco’s frustration boiled over. “Dad, if we can’t take down Liberty, then we’ll kill Kathryn. This is all her fault! She’s the ungrateful one. If it weren’t for her, Mom might still be alive. She’s nothing but a traitor!”

Chapter 4100

Compared to Liberty, Marco resented Kathryn, his own sister, even more.

In his eyes, all the Farrell family’s tragedies began the moment Kathryn returned.

If he had known how rebellious Kathryn would become—betraying her own family for the sake of justice and aligning herself with the people in Wiltspoon—he would have stopped his mother from ever acknowledging her.

Shiloh had been so much better.

Though carefully groomed by Clarissa, Shiloh’s abilities were limited—on par with theirs. If Shiloh had survived and taken over, Clarissa wouldn’t have had to die. Holden wouldn’t have been forced to mutilate himself and live as an “old eunuch.” The Farrell family wouldn’t have been thrown into chaos. Instead, they could have risen higher within the Farrell Group, calling the shots and thriving.

Now, they were reduced to this—a disgraceful, defeated lot, hounded and rejected wherever they went.

They had no home to return to.

Their mother had been driven to suicide.

Their father, once proud and strong, was crippled and in declining health.

And they had lost so much.

Ninety percent of the private assets left by their mother were now in Kathryn’s hands.

Kathryn’s children had inherited more than her own brothers.

It all boiled down to Kathryn.

Holden spoke bluntly. “It would be easier to kill Kathryn, but if you want to succeed, you’ll need to get rid of Pedro first. As long as Pedro is by her side, your chances are slim.”

Kathryn herself wasn’t particularly powerful.

Her strength came from Pedro.

Pedro was extraordinary—capable, resourceful, and shrouded in mystery. No one could truly gauge his influence or connections, not even the head of the Farrell family.

The head relied on Pedro for important tasks, offering orders without questioning how he carried them out. Results were all that mattered.

Holden continued, “Even if you can’t get rid of Pedro, you’ll have to find a way to drive him away from Kathryn. Without Pedro, Kathryn is nothing but a coward, easy to deal with. Whatever you do, though, make sure nothing traces back to you. Kathryn has strong ties with those people in Wiltspoon.”

He sighed deeply, his voice heavy with regret. “Looking back now, everything that’s happened to our family started when Kathryn returned. If we had known, we never would have allowed Shiloh and Kathryn to be swapped. We should have either made the best of a bad situation or eliminated Kathryn before the truth came out. If we had done that, Shiloh would’ve inherited everything.”

His tone grew darker. “If it weren’t for Kathryn, your mother might not have been defeated so quickly—or at all. She wouldn’t have had to die. Kathryn betrayed your mother, even though your mother treated her so well in the six months before everything fell apart.”

Holden’s frustration was palpable. “I did everything I could to protect Kathryn and elevate her, and this is how she repaid me? She’s heartless, ungrateful, and unfilial. How could I have raised such a daughter?”

Holden’s resentment toward his own daughter was evident.

What he regretted most was allowing their daughters to switch identities in the first place.

Initially, Clarissa had favored Shiloh, but the family rules of the Farrell family were inescapable. The head position had to be passed down to a daughter, usually the eldest.

With only one daughter—or so they thought—they had no choice but to invest everything in Shiloh.

Clarissa had poured her heart and soul into raising Shiloh, loving her unconditionally.

Who would have imagined that Shiloh wasn’t their daughter after all? Kathryn was.
