Married At First Sight Chapter 3741
Chapter 3741
“Fine, fine, it’s two against one—I can’t win.” Carrie said angrily, “Just give me tens of thousands of dollars. I’m broke.”
She held her hand out to Camryn, expecting her to hand over the money.
Camryn pushed her hand away and replied, “Trenton is working part-time during winter break to earn his own spending money. You’re capable too, but you refuse to find a job. Honestly, even if you swept the streets, you’d still make money.
I have money, but I’m not giving it to you. Don’t talk about sisterhood. Even if we’re sisters, I have no obligation to support my adult sister. If you want money, earn it yourself.”
With that, Camryn turned away and busied herself with her flowers and plants.
It was almost New Year’s, and the flower market was bustling. Many customers came to buy flowers daily, and all her workers were out delivering orders.
At times, they were so busy that two bodyguards had to help with deliveries.
Everyone in Wiltspoon knew that Camryn was the second lady of the York family. She was independent and well-established in her husband’s family, where she was treated like a daughter.
Aside from Carrie, her troublesome sister, no one dared mess with Camryn.
“I was born a rich lady! I don’t need to work!” Carrie shouted.
She knew she wouldn’t get any money from Camryn, but she was in a foul mood and came to argue anyway. It was always the same argument.
“Second sister,” Trenton said, gently holding her arm. “Let’s go outside. Don’t bother the eldest sister here. It’s bad for her business.”
Carrie didn’t pull away but insisted, “Okay, but you give me money. Our parents told you to give me tens of thousands each month for living expenses. You can’t just give me three or five thousand like I’m a beggar.
Trenton, I’m your second sister. We share the same parents, so you should be on my side!”
She knew Trenton had access to their parents’ savings, which were transferred to his account. She expected him to give her $10,000 a month.
However, Trenton, following Camryn’s advice, only gave Carrie three to five thousand dollars, which wasn’t enough for her lavish lifestyle.
Though Carrie had struggled for a while, she wasn’t broke. After being used as a pawn by Mr. Labbe, she saved a few million. Still, she spent extravagantly and believed she deserved to live like the second lady of the Newmans.
She always said that being born rich meant she was meant to have money.
Trenton dragged Carrie out of the flower shop and only let go when they were far away.
Turning to face his angry sister, he said, “Second sister, please stop asking for money all the time. After the New Year, you should find a job. If this keeps up, I’ll tell our parents when I visit them in prison that I’m cutting off your living expenses. You’re in your early twenties now. You can’t keep relying on them.”
Camryn had been right all along. Trenton had been too soft-hearted. If he had been tougher like their eldest sister, Carrie would have gotten a job long ago out of necessity.
Determined to make her more responsible, Trenton decided he wouldn’t give Carrie any more money after the New Year. He would tell their parents during his next prison visit. Carrie was truly a lost cause.
Married At First Sight Chapter 3742
Chapter 3742
“Trenton, you’re siding with Camryn now, but one day you’ll regret it. She’s pretending to be harmless while secretly scheming. Do you really think she’s helping you out of kindness? She’s trying to gain your complete trust so she can take everything from you.
If she pushes us out, it’s her way of getting revenge on our parents—and us. Especially you. She’s being nice to you now to drive a wedge between us.”
“Second sister!” Trenton interrupted firmly, “Don’t speak like that about our eldest sister. She’s not that kind of person, and I trust her completely.”
Carrie was so angry she wanted to hit him.
She regretted not convincing their mother to keep Trenton at home instead of sending him to boarding school. Maybe if they’d grown up closer, he wouldn’t have been swayed by Camryn. But even as a child, Trenton always supported Camryn.
“Fine, fine, I won’t say any more. You’ll see for yourself one day when you lose everything and realize who your real sister is. But let me tell you, Trenton, I’ll fight Camryn to the end.
I might not be able to defeat her now, but that doesn’t mean I’ll stay under her thumb forever. Just wait—one day, when she loses everything, that’s when I’ll strike back.”
Mr. Labbe had promised Carrie that once her task was done, he would help her get revenge on anyone she wanted.
Carrie’s plan was to ruin Camryn and take away everything she had. She had become one of Mr. Labbe’s many mistresses, and when the time was right, she would make sure Camryn suffered too.
Her ultimate revenge fantasy was to make Camryn a mistress to an ugly, violent man and watch her be abused. Carrie also dreamed of flaunting her relationship with Callum in front of Camryn, making her so angry that the York family would throw her out.
These thoughts gave Carrie a twisted sense of satisfaction, fueled by Mr. Labbe’s empty promises.
“Second sister, have you done something wrong?” Trenton asked cautiously. “Be careful not to let people use you. Remember how our aunts treated you? Don’t make the same mistake.
No matter how strained things get between us, we’re still family, and blood is thicker than water. Don’t let anyone manipulate you into hurting our eldest sister. Think about how you’ve treated her before. Has she really done anything to harm you? Why do you hate her so much?”
Carrie responded bitterly, “She stole my man and married Callum. How could I not hate her? She kicked me out of the Newman family mansion—my home for over 20 years—and took it for herself.”
Trenton was confused. “When did my brother-in-law become your man? Are you saying you hate our eldest sister because you have feelings for Callum?”
He finally realized that Carrie was jealous of Camryn’s relationship with Callum. He hadn’t seen it before, but it was now clear to him.
Callum was an exceptional man—handsome, successful, and from a good family. It wasn’t surprising that Carrie would be attracted to him. But this revelation still stunned Trenton.
Carrie added, “Mom always said she would create opportunities for me and Callum. He should have been mine, but your precious eldest sister married him first. I don’t know what kind of luck she had or what tricks she used to make him fall for her.”
Trenton was speechless. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
“Dear God,” he thought, “can a lightning bolt just come and wake her up from this ridiculous fantasy?”
Married At First Sight Chapter 3743
Chapter 3743
“Mom said she’d create an opportunity for you and the emperor, but do you really believe that? It’s just talk; nothing’s been done yet.”
Trenton lightly tapped Carrie on the head.
“Second sister, can you act normal? With the way you are now, not even a decent man would like you, let alone someone as high-quality as my brother-in-law, Callum.”
Carrie swatted his hand away, snapping, “What’s wrong with me? I’m young, beautiful, and in great shape. I’m also a wealthy lady with noble manners. If there were still emperors, I’d be more than qualified to marry one and become queen.”
Trenton shook his head. “Second sister, you have big dreams, but your luck in life is thin.”
Before he could finish, Carrie hit him.
“How dare you curse your own sister like that? What do you mean, thin life? I’m rich and living well!” But deep down, Carrie couldn’t shake the truth. She was, after all, just a plaything for Mr. Labbe, and one wrong move could cost her everything—even her life.
“Trenton, if you still consider me your sister, send me some money—tens of thousands. I had a bad day and offended someone, so he really chewed me out.
Remember how I’ve been getting yelled at since I was little? It’s all because of our perfect elder sister. I have no money or power, and now people think they can say whatever they want to me. I’ve never heard such foul language in my life.”
Mr. Labbe had indeed scolded her harshly.
“Who yelled at you, second sister?” Trenton asked.
“You can’t help me with this. He’s a powerful thug, the kind that makes your legs shake when you see him. Just send me some money so I can shop for new clothes. New Year’s is around the corner, and I can’t wear old clothes. Plus, I need to prepare some things for New Year’s since I’ll be celebrating it alone.”
Trenton hesitated. “Why not celebrate with us, second sister? I’m sure our eldest sister won’t mind. If you’re worried about her, I’ll talk to her. She might celebrate with the York family anyway, so you could come over, and we’ll spend New Year’s together.”
Carrie shook her head. “I’m not going unless Camryn invites me back. Since she kicked me out, she should be the one to beg me to return. Even then, I’d have to think about it.”
Trenton sighed. “How much do you need? I can’t send you too much. If our eldest sister finds out, she’ll scold me again, saying you’ll never become independent if I keep giving you money.”
Carrie replied, “Just don’t tell her. You don’t have to tell her everything.”
In the end, Trenton sent her $50,000.
“Second sister, after New Year’s, you need to find a job. You can’t keep living like this.”
“Fine, fine. Go tell Camryn to get me a well-paid, easy job at the York Group, and I’ll work, earn a salary, and take care of myself. Or let me be a vice president at our family’s business.”
Trenton’s face darkened.
Carrie wasn’t serious. She knew Camryn wouldn’t get her a job. Even if Camryn did, Carrie wouldn’t take it. She had tasks from Mr. Labbe to complete, including getting closer to Serenity and her circle to gain their trust.
Married At First Sight Chapter 3744
Chapter 3744
It wasn’t because Mr. Labbe gave Carrie a lot of money, but because he was capable of killing people. She was scared. After spending time in jail, Carrie had developed a deep fear of death and now valued her life and good fortune.
“I’m leaving,” she said.
With the money from her brother, Carrie walked back to the flower shop, feeling satisfied. Once there, she grabbed a few roses without paying and started to leave.
“She didn’t pay. Stop her,” Camryn ordered.
Camryn wasn’t going to let Carrie get away with it. Her two bodyguards stepped in to block Carrie.
Angrily, Carrie snapped, “Camryn, I only took a few flowers. You have so many here! What’s the big deal? You still want me to pay? I’m your sister, your real sister!”
Camryn replied calmly, “Everyone who buys flowers from me has to pay, and you’re no exception. Besides, you’ve never treated me like a sister. You only bring up family when it benefits you, but it doesn’t work.
These roses just came in, and since you are my sister, I’ll only charge you $20 per rose. You took three or five, so give me $100. I won’t overcharge you.”
Carrie’s expression darkened. “Camryn, why don’t you just rob a bank? $20 for a flower? That’s a rip-off! Here, take your flowers back. I’ll go pick some wildflowers from the roadside—they’re prettier than your roses anyway.”
She threw the roses back into the bucket and stormed out, frustrated that she couldn’t take advantage of Camryn.
As Carrie was driving away, she spotted Callum’s car heading toward her. She turned to look at him, but he barely glanced at her as they passed each other. This left Carrie feeling bitter.
It wasn’t that she loved Callum deeply, but her mother had promised she’d find a way for her to marry into the York family, and Callum had been chosen for her. Although they hardly knew each other, Carrie had assumed she would eventually marry him.
But now Callum was married to Camryn and treated her with such care. This filled Carrie with jealousy and resentment. She blamed Camryn and Serenity for her troubles and for losing things that she believed should have been hers.
She was determined to get revenge.
Meanwhile, Callum parked his car outside Spring Blossoms. His bodyguard rushed over to open the door.
“Second Young Master,” the bodyguard greeted.
Callum nodded. “That woman came by here. Did anything happen to your Second Young Madam?”
“No, sir,” the bodyguard replied respectfully. “Second Young Madam doesn’t let anyone mess with her. You don’t have to worry. We’re here to protect her.”
Callum nodded again. “Good. Keep her safe, and I’ll make sure you get a nice year-end bonus.”
The bodyguard smiled and watched as Callum entered the store.
Hearing his familiar footsteps, Camryn looked up, stood, and smiled. “You’re so busy. What brings you here?”
“I missed you, so I came,” Callum replied.
Camryn blushed slightly and said softly, “There are people here.”
Callum chuckled. “We’re husband and wife. I’m just telling the truth. What’s there to be afraid of?”
Married At First Sight Chapter 3745
Chapter 3745
A customer came in looking to buy a bouquet of flowers.
Camryn showed him some sample pictures and let him choose.
“No need to choose. Just make me a bouquet of roses. I’m going to use it to confess my love,” the young man said, looking a bit shy.
Camryn smiled and replied, “Sure, give me a moment, and I’ll put something together for you.”
While Camryn worked on the bouquet, Callum invited the boy to sit and poured him a glass of warm water.
The boy glanced between Camryn and Callum and quietly asked, “Are you two married or dating?”
Callum smiled and said, “We’re married. She’s my wife.”
The boy looked at them with envy. “You both seem really happy.”
Callum nodded. “Yes, we’re very happy. I love my wife, and she loves me.”
Thinking about the girl he liked, the boy’s face lit up with hope. “There’s someone I want to confess to. I’m just not sure if she’ll accept me. I’m pretty nervous.”
Having been through it, Callum offered some advice. “Don’t be nervous. Just be sincere. Even if she doesn’t accept your feelings right away, don’t be discouraged. Take your time. If she hesitates, it might be because she hasn’t fallen for you yet or because you haven’t shown her enough. But if you give it your all, no matter what happens, you won’t have any regrets.”
The boy listened carefully and then asked, “Did you and your wife fall in love at first sight, or did it take you a while to win her over?”
“I fell for her at first sight, but she didn’t feel the same. My wife was seriously ill and blind for ten years, so she couldn’t see me and pushed me away. But I didn’t give up. I stayed persistent, and now we’re happy.”
Callum smiled warmly. “Keep trying. I’m sure you’ll find happiness too.”
The boy grinned. “Thank you, boss. I’ll definitely come back to your shop. If she accepts me one day, I’ll propose with a sea of roses from here.”
He had seen people propose with massive flower displays on TV and dreamed of doing the same.
Before long, Camryn finished the bouquet. The boy stood up, took it from her, and admired it with satisfaction. After paying, he waved goodbye to Callum. “I’m off now, boss.”
“Good luck!” Callum replied with a smile and waved as he left.
Camryn turned to Callum. “You’ve gotten pretty friendly with him in such a short time.”
Callum chuckled. “He reminds me of my younger self.”
“You weren’t that serious,” Camryn teased. “You made me deliver flowers to you—you didn’t buy them for me.”
She still remembered how Callum had insisted she personally deliver flowers to him. Back then, she couldn’t see and had to carefully count her steps to make her way to his office, often cursing him in her head, thinking he was just using his wealth to mock her blindness.
But Callum always ordered the most expensive bouquets, and despite her frustration, she put up with it for the sake of her business and reputation.
Married At First Sight Chapter 3746
Chapter 3746
Callum said, “I just wanted you to learn the way to my office, that’s why I asked you to bring the flowers.”
Camryn replied, “Did you forget I was blind? You made me deliver those flowers in person, and it wasn’t easy for me.”
Callum gently hugged her and apologized, “Camryn, I’m sorry. I didn’t think it through and made things harder for you.”
Camryn pushed him away, saying, “Customers can walk in anytime, so don’t keep hugging me. You might not care, but I’m not as bold. Back then, I was so frustrated with you, I cursed you a hundred thousand times in my head. But, to be honest, I did learn the route to your office. Now, I could find it with my eyes closed.”
Just then, Trenton returned.
After Carrie left, he had been feeling down and stayed outside for a while to compose himself before coming back. He didn’t want Camryn to worry about him.
“Brother-in-law, you’re here,” Trenton said with a smile when he saw Callum.
“Trenton, when did you get back?”
Callum hadn’t known Trenton was back, thinking he would return closer to the Lunar New Year.
“Brother Dal gave me some time off, so I came back early to help my sister prepare for the New Year. I was about to call you to invite you to dinner, but since you’re here, no need for that now.”
Callum walked over, patted Trenton on the shoulder, and said, “Nice! You’re more mature now. But inviting me to dinner—aren’t you worried you’ll spend all your hard-earned winter break salary on just one meal?”
Trenton laughed awkwardly. “Well, brother-in-law, I can afford a meal, but it might not be at a five-star hotel—just a regular place. Hope you don’t mind.”
He didn’t want to use his parents’ money for the meal and preferred to spend what he had earned.
Callum smiled. “I’m just teasing. I’m not picky. Even if it’s just street food, we’d be honored. But there’s no need for you to spend your money. Save what you’ve earned for your New Year expenses and living costs when you’re back at school. How about I treat you to hot pot?”
“Okay, I won’t say no to that,” Trenton quickly agreed.
Callum turned to Camryn and said, “See, when I offer to treat your brother to hot pot, he doesn’t even pretend to argue about it.”
Camryn replied, “He wanted to treat you, but you insisted otherwise. Your income is way higher than his, so if he didn’t accept your offer right away, he might lose out on hot pot entirely. I haven’t had hot pot in ages, and it’s perfect for the cooler weather. Back then, I didn’t have the chance to enjoy it.”
When she was blind, eating hot pot was difficult, as she needed someone to assist her.
Callum said thoughtfully, “Then let’s have hot pot tonight. And in the future, if you feel like eating it, let me know, and I’ll prepare it at home. We can enjoy it in comfort and peace.”
Camryn smiled and said, “Sounds good.”
Trenton looked at the two of them, then joked, “Sister, brother-in-law, when you two are being all lovey-dovey, please remember I’m still single.”

Chapter 3747
The young couple exchanged smiles as they looked at Trenton.
“How much money did you give to your second sister?” Camryn asked gently. She could have been harsh and refused to help Carrie, but she chose not to.
Trenton couldn’t bring himself to ignore his sister completely. He wasn’t that heartless.
While Carrie hadn’t treated him particularly well, she hadn’t been terrible to him either. At least she never bullied or hurt him.
However, Carrie had always been awful to Camryn, their oldest sister, showing no respect. Their relationship was strained and distant.
Despite this, after taking control of the family, Camryn didn’t seek revenge on Carrie, reminding herself they shared the same mother.
“I… I gave her $50,000,” Trenton admitted. “She said the New Year is coming, and she needed money to buy things for the celebration and get some new clothes.”
He lowered his head, avoiding Camryn’s gaze, afraid she would scold him.
Camryn stared at Trenton for a while but didn’t say anything. Instead, she took out her phone and showed him a surveillance video of Carrie visiting the flower shop, pretending to be Mrs. Labbe and hiring someone to act on her behalf.
She had saved the video on her phone.
Trenton braced himself for the scolding, but when he looked up, Camryn simply handed him her phone. Confused, he asked, “Sister, what’s this?”
“Watch this video,” Camryn replied calmly. “Go sit at the cashier’s desk and take your time. Check if the woman in the video is really your second sister. Let me know if you have any questions when you get home tonight.”
Without explaining further, Camryn let Trenton view the footage on his own.
Curious, Trenton said, “Can you send it to my phone? I’ll watch it later.”
As some customers entered the shop, Trenton got up to help, but Callum had already stepped in, so he sat back down.
Camryn forwarded the video, and then went to assist with the customers.
Seeing that he wasn’t needed, Trenton sat at the cashier’s desk and began watching the video. Carrie appeared in it, behaving as usual—targeting Camryn, as if Camryn owed her a huge debt. Her attitude towards Camryn was hostile.
Nothing seemed out of the ordinary at first, but Trenton knew Camryn wouldn’t show him the video without reason. He watched it again and again. Eventually, something clicked—Carrie seemed different, her arrogance seemed forced, as if she was acting, and her usual confidence was missing. Something about her demeanor was off, though he couldn’t quite put his finger on it.
When Camryn finished with the customers, Trenton spoke up. “I think there’s something wrong with the second sister in this video.”
Camryn asked, “Are you sure it’s her? Does the woman next to her look familiar?”
Trenton hesitated. The woman in the video acted like Carrie, but something didn’t seem right. After all, Carrie had just come to the shop, made a scene, and he had given her $50,000. Even though their time together was brief, they were still siblings, and he felt certain he could recognize her.
Married At First Sight Chapter 3748
Chapter 3748
When Camryn asked him, Trenton’s heart raced. He wasn’t entirely sure if the woman in the video was really Carrie.
The young lady next to her? He had watched the video several times but hadn’t paid much attention to the lady. All he noticed was that she was young, beautiful, and wearing a lot of jewelry. In the video, Camryn referred to her as Mrs. Labbe, which made Trenton think her husband’s last name must be Labbe.
Mrs. Labbe seemed kind to Camryn and was willing to help her, but Trenton didn’t know her. Why was Camryn asking him about her? Should he recognize her?
Trenton watched the video again but still couldn’t figure out why Mrs. Labbe was important. He had never heard of her before watching the video.
He glanced at Camryn, looking for answers.
Camryn gently said, “If you can’t tell, don’t worry about it. She’s gotten really good at playing that role, almost as if she’s actually that person. I’ll explain more when we get home tonight.”
Then, Camryn printed out two online orders and started preparing the flower arrangements.
Once she finished, she handed them to Trenton. “It’s still early for dinner, and since you’re here with nothing to do, can you help me deliver these? The address is written here.”
She pointed to a small note attached to the bouquets. “Make sure you collect this note after confirming the delivery, so it doesn’t spoil the customer’s experience.”
Trenton put his phone away, took the flowers, and after reading the address, tucked the notes into his pocket. He grabbed the electric bike keys and said, “I’ll deliver them now.”
The customer was in an industrial area nearby, so Trenton figured he could easily deliver the flowers by bike.
He placed the bouquets in the front basket of the bike, put on his helmet, and rode off.
“Have you decided to tell Trenton?” Callum asked Camryn gently. “He’s still young, and you’re not completely sure about what’s going on.”
Camryn sat at the cashier’s counter. Callum poured her a cup of warm water and then went to the small kitchen, retrieving a box of fresh snacks he had brought earlier. He had brought them in the morning so Camryn could eat whenever she had a break, making sure she didn’t go hungry.
“Trenton’s an adult and can make his own decisions. If it involves his second sister, he has a right to know. I don’t want him to keep being Carrie’s cash machine.”
Camryn didn’t believe in hiding everything from Trenton just because he was younger. With no elders left to guide them, she was now in charge of the Newman family, and she treated it like her own.
Even though they were from different branches of the family—Trenton from the first house and Camryn from the second—he needed to understand the situation, especially when it came to Carrie. He had to know what was happening to avoid being taken advantage of.
“If Trenton knows the truth, he can help. Carrie doesn’t put her guard up around him,” Camryn added.
Callum nodded in agreement. “You must be hungry too. Have a snack. I made these especially for you this morning.”
Camryn reached for the snack, but then pulled her hand back. “I’ll wash my hands first,” she said.
Before she could go, Callum fed her the snack himself.
She took a bite before heading off to wash her hands.
“It’d be nice if I could just feed you, so you wouldn’t have to do it yourself,” Callum joked, a little disappointed he couldn’t continue feeding her.
Married At First Sight Chapter 3749
Chapter 3749
Camryn smiled and said, “You spoil me too much. If you keep doing that, I’ll become lazy. Letting you take care of me all the time will wear you out.”
Callum replied, “I won’t get tired of taking care of you. I like doing it.” He tried to offer her more snacks, but she insisted on feeding herself.
He handed her the snacks instead.
“Trenton may be young, but he’s strong. When our parents went to prison, it was hard for him at first, but he eventually accepted it. As long as he has the right mindset, no matter how difficult things are, he’ll come around with time. He won’t hold a grudge,” Camryn said.
She pushed the snack box towards Callum, encouraging him to eat as well.
“If Trenton didn’t have a good outlook, I wouldn’t have taken care of him the way I have. Despite everything I went through under his parents’ care, I couldn’t hate him. He’s always respected me as his older sister and stayed positive. That’s why I’ve tried to protect him from their influence. He’ll be the head of the family one day, and he’s set to inherit a lot. He can’t grow up sheltered—he needs to face challenges and become strong enough to handle his responsibilities.”
In the past, Camryn had only felt a little affection for Trenton. Her feelings toward her uncle, mother, and sister were different—she resented them deeply for all the pain they caused her. Even now, she was still recovering from the harm her mother inflicted.
What had she done to deserve such treatment? Why did her mother bring her into the world only to mistreat her?
Camryn couldn’t believe her mother had wanted to abort her but never had the chance. Instead, her mother gave birth to her and then blamed her for everything.
She even wondered if her family had killed her father after all that happened.
People say children are a piece of their mother’s heart, and most mothers love their children. But Camryn’s mother was different. If she knew how to love, she wouldn’t have spoiled Carrie so much, which ultimately led to Carrie’s downfall.
To be honest, if Carrie hadn’t caused trouble and angered Zachary, and if everything that followed hadn’t happened, Camryn might have had to wait years to reclaim her life and send her mother and uncle to prison.
Callum spoke up, “Your brother, your call. I won’t object. If you need help, just let me know. I like Trenton—he’s a good brother-in-law. He’s smart, sensible, and doesn’t get in the way. He’s even brave enough to threaten me! He said if I don’t treat you well, he’s not scared of me being the York family’s second young master—he’ll fight me to the end and make sure you’re never hurt.”
Callum accepted Trenton because of how much he cared for Camryn.
Trenton had always seen Camryn as his older sister.
Callum continued, “You’re thinking about your mother again, aren’t you? Don’t let it bother you. Some people just aren’t meant to be mothers. She’s biased, and nothing you do will ever change that. She’s selfish and weak, and she took all her frustrations out on you. Look how she spoiled Carrie, and yet, where did that get Carrie? Your mother doesn’t deserve to be called a mother.”
Trenton had been sent to boarding school from a young age, spending most of his time away. He had always been independent and didn’t follow his parents’ lead. He believed in respecting Camryn as his elder sister, and he always did.
Married At First Sight Chapter 3750
Chapter 3750
Fortunately, Trenton wasn’t negatively influenced by his parents. Otherwise, who knows what kind of person he would have become or what his future would hold.
Camryn quietly finished her dessert, then took a few sips of warm water. She wiped her mouth and hands with a tissue before throwing it away.
She sighed and said, “That’s just my mother. I can’t help but think about her. Whenever I see other mothers and daughters together, or hear someone call their mom, I think of her.”
The pain from her past would take a lifetime to heal.
After another sigh, she continued, “Maybe I’m just not close to my family. My biological father left me early, my mother is worse than a stepmother, and there’s barely any bond between me and my siblings.”
Callum held her hand.
“Wife, you have me. And my parents treat you like their own daughter. I think they love you more than me at this point.”
Camryn let go of her sadness and smiled. “Yes, I’ve been fortunate. I have a wonderful husband, wise in-laws, and sisters-in-law who treat me like family.”
This made up for the lack of affection she had growing up.
She was most grateful to the old lady. If it weren’t for her, Callum might never have met or pursued her. There would be no happy life for her now.
If she hadn’t married Callum, Camryn wasn’t sure how much longer she’d have lived in darkness. Even though her aunt Evelyn had heard of a miracle doctor, there would have been no way to reach him without Callum’s help.
Just then, another customer entered the shop, and the couple stopped discussing the heavy topic.
Meanwhile, in Annenburg…
Serenity knew that Zachary was flying to Annenburg that day, and she had told him she was at Jane’s parents’ home and hadn’t yet returned to FC Manor. So, she expected Zachary to arrive at FC Manor that evening.
But unexpectedly, Zachary went straight to Jane’s family home after landing.
Serenity didn’t know.
Sonny and Titus were playing in the yard, chasing each other, when they saw several cars parked outside the Murphy house.
Sonny spotted one of the York family’s bodyguards in the front seat. He recognized them because they were always with his uncle, Zachary. Sonny liked these bodyguards—they were always kind to him.
“Uncle is here!” Sonny stopped running and shouted excitedly.
He ran over to the back seat of the car and stood by the door, waiting for Zachary to step out.
When the door opened and Sonny saw Zachary’s familiar face, he jumped up in excitement. “Uncle! Uncle! Did you come to pick up me and Auntie?”
As soon as Zachary stepped out of the car, Sonny hugged his leg and climbed into his arms.
Zachary had to hold Sonny as he got out of the car.
“Sonny, did you miss your uncle?”
Sonny’s excitement made Zachary smile, unable to hide his joy. It was moments like this that made all his love for Sonny worth it.
Sonny nodded eagerly. “I miss you, Uncle. I think about you every day. Are you finished with work? Auntie said we were going back to Titus’s house today and that you’d come in the evening.”
Titus ran over and greeted Zachary politely, “Uncle York.”
Zachary smiled and patted his head.
Titus ran back to the yard to tell the others. “I’ll tell my mom and Aunt Hunt.”
“I’ll tell them too!” Sonny shouted, squirming to get down from Zachary’s arms and running into the Murphy family’s yard.
