The employees were stunned. “Mr. Lane! Mrs. Lane!”

The moment Halsey heard someone call her “Mrs. Lane”, her cheeks burned bright red. She ordered Shaun, “Put me down! People are staring!”

Shaun kept walking steadily, long legs striding forward as if nothing was out of the ordinary. He gave a lazy smile. “Let them stare. It’s not like I can cover their eyes.”

More and more employees began to gather and whisper, “Morning, Mr. and Mrs. Lane!”

Halsey’s face was as red as a tomato. She quickly buried her face in Shaun’s chest to hide herself.

However, the gossip only got louder.

“Oh my god, Mr. Lane brought Mrs. Lane to work in his arms?”

“Isn’t Ms. Sutton Mrs. Lane?”

“Come on, of course not.”

“Didn’t Mr. Lane used to date Miss Mallin? That looks like her!”

“They really are a perfect match-a real power couple.”

Halsey wanted to cover her ears. She didn’t want to hear another word of it.

Shaun looked down at her blushing face and couldn’t help but let out a low chuckle.

Shaun carried Halsey straight into his executive office and gently set her down on the sofa.

She immediately tried to slip away.

But Shaun caught both of her slender wrists and pinned her back down. “Where do you think you’re going?”

“Let me go! I don’t want to be here!” Halsey barked.

“So naughty,” Shaun murmured with a crooked grin.

Then he leaned down and kissed her.

“Mmph!”

Halsey’s mind went blank. His kiss hit like a spark to dry leaves, setting her whole body on edge. She tried to wriggle away, panicked. “No, stop-ah!”

Shaun suddenly bit down softly on her earlobe, his voice hoarse, “Keep moaning and see what happens.”

Even she realized her voice sounded far too sultry, echoing around his office like something out of a steamy dream.

She clamped her lips shut at once, but Shaun kissed her again.

Halsey didn’t dare make another sound. All she could do was endure his relentless kissing as he pried open her lips and sucked deeply, like he was trying to consume her whole.

His kiss was as intense and dominant as ever, and she went weak all over,

Soon, Shaun let go of her wrists and slid his hand under her clothes.

Startled, Halsey grabbed his hand. “Stop it!”

His eyes were burning now as he stared down at her. “Stop what?”

“You told me to take the morning-after pill, so stop touching me!”

Shaun smirked. “You won’t take the pill anyway. So let’s just go a few more rounds, and then you can take it.”

Halsey slapped him across the face.

She hadn’t used much strength-her pale, delicate hand made it more of a soft pat. It felt more like a couple’s playful scuffle than a real hit.

Shaun froze for a second, then rolled his tongue against the inside of his cheek, grinning. “Remember what I said? One slap equals one round.”

Then he leaned in to kiss her again.

But just then, a firm series of knocking came on the door. Martin’s voice followed. “Mr. Lane?”

Halsey acted like she had just spotted a lifeline. She shoved him quickly. “Someone’s out there!”

“I can tell him to leave,” he said casually.

She was dumbfounded for a second. “This is your office! It’s a place for work!”

She was trying to bring him back to his senses. Right now, he was acting like a starving wolf who had just found prey. All he could think about was devouring her.

Shaun looked at Halsey for a long moment, then finally let her go and stood up.
