Madeline didn’t understand why there was this woman suddenly so close to Shaun. She sneered coldly, “What if I don’t leave?”

Chelsea smirked back, “Then I’ll have someone throw you out.”

“Really?” Madeline shot back.

Chelsea’s eyes narrowed. “Really. Security!” she barked loudly.

A few security guards in black suits quickly appeared, addressing Chelsea with respect. “Yes, Ms. Sutton?”

Madeline’s gaze grew even colder. Clearly, this whole company treated Chelsea with great deference. No wonder Halsey had ended things with Shaun–if it were Madeline, she wouldn’t stand for it either.

Chelsea gave the order, “This woman is causing trouble. Get her out of here!”

“Right away!”

Two guards grabbed Madeline firmly, one on each side.

Madeline struggled fiercely. “Let go of me! Do you even know who I am?”

Chelsea scoffed, “You’re just another woman trying to seduce Shaun. With me around, you won’t get within a mile of him!”

“You’d better not get too cocky! Once you find out who I am, you won’t be talking like that,” Madeline warned.

Chelsea wasn’t interested in arguing. She didn’t want any beautiful women coming near Shaun. With a wave of her hand, she ordered, “Throw her out!”

“Okay!”

The guards dragged Madeline toward the exit despite her frantic resistance.

“Let me go! Don’t touch me! You’ll regret this!” she yelled.

Just then, a voice called from the entrance. “Stop!”

Madeline looked up to see Warren stepping inside.

Warren hadn’t noticed Madeline yet; his eyes landed on Chelsea first, “What’s going on here?”

Chelsea smiled sweetly. “It’s nothing

Warren nodded approvingly. “I honestly think you and Shaun are perfect for each other, I’m rooting for you.”

Chelsea blushed lightly. “I’ll do my best.‘

Madeline’s heart sank. She hadn’t expected Warren to side with Chelsea.

The guards tightened their grip and urged, “Move along.”

Madeline turned toward Warren, calling out loudly, “Warren!”

Hearing that familiar voice, Warren paused mid–step toward the elevator and quickly turned to face her.

Madeline met his gaze. “Warren!”

Warren stiffened but hurried over. “Maddy!”

He barely recognized her she had grown into a graceful young woman.

Madeline nodded. “Yeah, it’s me.”

Chelsea’s expression shifted slightly. “Who is she?”

Madeline shot back, “Who do you think I am?”

Chelsea’s heart skipped. She had been hoping to win Warren over. Could this woman actually be someone he knew?

Chelsea smiled nervously. “Oh, so you’re Warren’s friend? Why didn’t you say so earlier? If I’d known, I wouldn’t have had you thrown out.”

Warren looked toward Chelsea. “Don’t you know who she is?”

Chelsea shook her head. “No, isn’t she your friend?”

Warren hesitated. “No, she’s—”

Before he could finish, a deep, calm voice interrupted. Shaun arrived with a few people, his presence commanding attention.

“What’s going on here?”

Chelsea quickly put on a sweet smile. “Hey, Shaun.”

Madeline’s eyes immediately welled up with tears as she looked at her brother.

“Shaun!” she called out softly.
