“How do you plan to do that?” Shaun asked.

Halsey’s eyes flicked down from his six–pack abs to lower; she hesitated before blurting out, “Could you take off your pants?”

Shaun looked at her, his gaze suddenly darkening.

Halsey wasn’t even sure what she was saying as her heart pounded loudly in her chest.

Was it the thrill of the daring possibility that Shaun might actually be Dwight, or the nerves from making such a bold request?

“The person I know… He has a mole down there. I want to see it.”

Shaun swallowed hard. “What if I say no? I don’t want to take them off.”

No, she had to see. She needed to know!

Halsey looked at him pleadingly. “Please. Just a peek.”

Shaun turned to walk away.

But Halsey stepped in front of him, blocking his path. “If you won’t take them off, I’ll help you

!” 

Her hands landed on the expensive black leather belt around his waist, gripping it firmly. “Please don’t hate me.”

She began fumbling with the buckle.

However, Halsey had never undone a man’s belt before. Three years ago, Dwight didn’t even like wearing belts. The cold, costly leather felt foreign and heavy in her trembling hands. She suddenly realized that even if he was Dwight, he wasn’t the same

man anymore.

He had become a rising star in the business world.

Was his refusal to admit who he was because he no longer loved her?

Nervous and inexperienced, she struggled to undo the belt no matter how hard she tried.

Shaun watched her clumsy attempts. “Is that guy your boyfriend?”

Halsey’s slender lashes fluttered.

“You know such private details about him. Have you slept with him?” Shaun pressed.

Halsey’s face burned hotter, the flush creeping all the way down to her pale earlobes. She tugged on the belt harder. Soon, her fingers brushed something solid and scorching–so hot it made her shiver all over.

Startled, she jerked her hand away and instinctively stepped back.

But Shaun reached out, caught her face in his hand, and pulled her close. “Why stop now?”

Their faces were inches apart.

Halsey looked into his eyes, which were just like Dwight’s, and her knees began to weaken. “Are you him? Please tell me. I really want to know.”

Shaun’s voice softened. “Does it matter that much?”

“For me, it does,” she whispered. “Dwight… Is that you–mmm!”

Without warning, Shaun lowered his head and pressed his lips to hers.

The sudden kiss made Halsey’s eyes snap wide in shock. She had expected that.

She raised her hands, pressing them against his chest, trying to push him away. “Stop-”

But Shaun flipped her around, pressing her against the wall. His burning body pressed close from behind as he kissed her hair,

her earlobe.

“The belt’s in your hands, and you still can’t undo it? What–haven’t you slept with your fiancé Gilbert in these three years?”

Halsey’s breath caught, her pale eyes misting with tears. “Dwight Is that really you?”

Shaun bit down gently on her earlobe. The sharp sting made her body tense, and she let out a soft cry.

Her reaction stirred something in Shaun. His eyes darkened with emotion as he wrapped his arms around her slim waist, holding her close, his desire palpable.

He whispered in her ear in a rough voice, “Do you want me?”
