The Heartbreak Prescription Chapter 1149
Nathan didn’t get out of bed. Instead, he pulled Ivy closer into his arms.
In truth, his internal clock had already woken him around six. With Ivy asleep against him—warm and soft—he hadn’t wanted to move.
Nathan looked at her slightly flushed lips. “Tired?”
Ivy knew exactly what he meant. “Not at all.”
Nathan reached out and brushed his thumb lightly over her lips. “You’ve got a little spot here where the skin’s broken.”
Ivy shot him a mock glare. “That’s your fault. Don’t pretend you had nothing to do with it.”
Nathan’s lips curved indulgently. “Alright. My bad.”
The air between them grew charged. Ivy stared straight at him. “Why are you still lying in bed?”
Nathan raised a brow instead of answering. “What do you think?”
Ivy smiled, her hand landing on his abs and sliding lower. “Who knows what you’re thinking?”
Nathan’s throat tightened, heat flashing instantly in his eyes.
Ivy laughed. “I just realized—you’re really good at pretending.”
“What do you mean?” Nathan asked.
“You always look so cool and restrained, but you actually have a very high libido.”
Nathan leaned down, clearly about to kiss her.
Ivy laughed and dodged. “Hey, stop!”
The two of them ended up laughing together on the bed.
Just then, a knock sounded at the door. Wanda’s voice came from outside. “Mr. and Mrs. Lowe, are you up?”
Ivy immediately pushed Nathan away. “Yes, we’re up!”
“Alright. I’ve made breakfast. I’ll be waiting for you downstairs.”
Ivy turned to Nathan. “We really should get up.”
She climbed out of bed.
Nathan had no choice but to follow. He was already aware of the change in himself—he was growing more attached to Ivy, wanting to be with her all the time.
After washing up, they went downstairs.
“Good morning!” Wanda greeted.
“Morning.”
“Did you sleep well?” Wanda asked Ivy.
“I slept great. I’ll grab the plates.”
Ivy went up on her toes to reach for them.
Wanda immediately stopped her. “No, don’t. Let me handle it.”
But Wanda didn’t get the chance. Nathan stepped up behind Ivy and took the plates down for her.
“Thanks,” Ivy said.
“Let’s eat,” Nathan replied.
Just then, Nathan’s phone rang. He answered it. “Alright. I’ll be at the office right away.”
After hanging up, he looked at Ivy. “Something urgent came up. I have to head to work.”
“You’re not eating breakfast?” Ivy asked.
“No. You enjoy,” Nathan said.
Then he added, “I’ll pick you up after work today.”
With that, Nathan left.
Ivy was surprised. Nathan was actually going to pick her up.
Wanda set a glass of milk beside Ivy and said, “Mrs. Lowe, forgive me for nagging, but you really need to be careful during the first three months of pregnancy. It’s best to avoid intimacy. And if you don’t, absolutely nothing strenuous.”
Ivy took a sip of milk. “Don’t worry. Nathan and I didn’t go that far.”
Wanda looked unconvinced. “Mr. Lowe looks at you like he wants to devour you.”
Ivy’s face warmed. Was it really that obvious?
She could feel it too. After last night, Nathan had become even gentler with her.
She had only meant to make him a little happy, but she hadn’t expected such a strong response.
Ivy thought she might have figured out how to deal with Nathan. She didn’t know if other men were the same, but with Nathan, as long as he was happy in bed, he made sure you were happy too.
