The Heartbreak Prescription Chapter 1148
Did Nathan really want it tonight?
Ivy suddenly leaned in and kissed his thin lips.
Nathan looked at her for a split second, then pressed down, capturing her flushed lips in a deep, intense kiss.
Ivy wrapped her arms around his neck and responded—gentle yet eager—meeting him without holding back.
They had never kissed like this before. Just kissing. Nothing else.
Her body went soft, weak, as if she were melting into him.
Nathan lowered his face into the curve of her neck, kissing her hair lightly.
Ivy’s hands slid upward. Careful but bold, she cradled his head and threaded her fingers through his neat, short hair. She gave it a small tug and suddenly laughed.
Nathan’s voice turned rough. “That funny?”
He had already noticed what she was doing.
Ivy was genuinely happy, playful and sly like a mischievous child. “A little.”
Nathan gave her a look, then rolled onto his back, staring up at the ceiling. “Go to sleep.”
As he spoke, he started to get up.
“Where are you going?” Ivy asked.
“To take a cold shower,” Nathan replied.
Ivy grabbed the hem of his pajama top. “You’re not going.”
He lay back down. “I can’t even take a cold shower?”
Ivy rolled over and burrowed into his arms. His body was burning hot, like a furnace. She kissed his handsome face and slipped her hand under his pajama top.
His muscles were firm and defined, lean in a way that looked effortlessly refined. She really liked them.
Nathan caught her hand. “Don’t tease me.”
Ivy shook his hand off and shifted, straddling his waist. Now she was on top.
Fire flashed in Nathan’s eyes. His large hand closed around her soft waist. “What are you doing? Get down. Didn’t you say your stomach hurt?”
Ivy pressed one hand beside his pillow. “My stomach does hurt.”
“Then what are you—”
“I want you to be happy tonight.”
Nathan’s gaze darkened. “What do you mean?”
Ivy smiled. “Guess.”
She leaned down, kissed the sharp line of his throat, and slowly moved lower.
The next morning—
Ivy slowly opened her eyes. She was awake.
Early sunlight filtered through the layers of curtains. She didn’t even need to check the time to know she’d overslept again. It had to be at least eight.
She shifted, ready to get up—then froze.
She was wrapped in a warm embrace.
Lifting her head, she saw Nathan’s handsome face. He was still asleep, holding her close.
Ivy paused. She knew how disciplined his routine usually was. Before, whenever she woke up, he was already at the office. This was the first time he had slept in with her.
She studied his sleeping face and slowly raised her fingers to touch him.
Her pale fingertips traced from his sharp brows, down the bridge of his nose, to his lips. His features were striking, as if carved by hand.
The more she looked, the more she liked him.
Suddenly, her finger was caught.
Nathan slowly opened his sleepy eyes. “What are you doing so early in the morning?”
Ivy smiled brightly. “You’re awake!”
Nathan looked at her. “With you touching me like that, how could I not be?”
“It’s already eight,” Ivy said. “You’re getting lazy. Get up already.”
