The Heartbreak Prescription Chapter 1136
Nathan finished signing and looked up—only to spot Ivy. His gaze stopped instantly.
She’d arrived in a black coat, but now that it was off, he could see what she wore underneath: a fitted black dress.
And more importantly, black stockings.
Her legs were stunning—long and straight—and the stockings made them even more striking. Paired with slim high heels, she looked incredible just standing there, quietly reading a book.
Nathan had always had good taste in women. And he had to admit, his arranged-marriage wife was top-tier in every way.
She had a beautiful face, a flawless figure, talent, ambition, and impeccable taste.
The Lowe family was one of the most powerful families in the country, and Keith had chosen his granddaughter-in-law with extreme care. He hadn’t been wrong.
Martin spoke beside him. “Mr. Lowe, the meeting starts soon.”
Nathan barely glanced at him. “Cancel it.”
Martin froze. “Sorry—what?”
“Cancel it. And clear my entire schedule for today. I’m taking the day off.”
Martin was stunned. In all his years working with Nathan, he had never once seen this workaholic step away from work.
Nathan added, “Also, get two movie tickets.”
Suddenly, Martin understood. “Are you planning to go on a date with Mrs. Lowe?”
Nathan lifted an eyebrow. Since she’d asked, he couldn’t exactly deny it.
“What kind of movie should I get? What does Mrs. Lowe like?”
“Pick a romance.”
“Understood. I’ll handle it right away.”
Martin left with the documents.
Nathan stood and walked up behind Ivy. “Did you do it on purpose?”
She turned toward him, book in hand. “Do what on purpose?”
Nathan wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her against his chest. “The stockings.”
Ivy’s lips curved into a slow smile. “What—don’t you like them? I heard men love black stockings.”
She rose onto her toes, leaned close to his ear, and whispered playfully, “I wore them just for you.”
She had come prepared today.
Ivy was smart and educated. She always knew exactly what she wanted—and she always did everything she could to get it.
Nathan slid a hand along her cheek. “Do you know where we are?”
“Of course,” she replied. “Your office. You still haven’t told me if you like them.”
Nathan lowered his head to kiss her.
But Ivy slipped away with a teasing smile.
Fire flashed in Nathan’s eyes. She’d already gotten him worked up. The moment she pulled back, he dragged her firmly into his arms.
“Why are you dodging?”
Ivy looked up at him. “Shouldn’t you be focusing on work? You spent all of last night in the study and left me completely alone. I was stuck in an empty bedroom by myself.”
That’s when Nathan realized it—she was doing this on purpose, getting back at him.
Her eyes sparkled with wit and mischief. She was so vivid, so alive, that he couldn’t look away.
He grabbed the back of her head and kissed her hard.
Ivy didn’t resist. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back.
They moved from the bookshelf to the desk. Nathan pushed her down—gentle but firm—and she landed on the polished dark-wood surface.
The cool finish beneath her made her shiver.
Nathan’s kisses followed again, fierce and overwhelming.
