The Heartbreak Prescription Chapter 1133
Early the next morning, Ivy opened her eyes and realized she was lying in bed.
She sat up, momentarily confused. She clearly remembered working late the night before and falling asleep at her desk. How had she woken up in bed?
There was only one explanation—Nathan must have carried her upstairs.
The space beside her was already empty. He had likely gone to the office.
Ivy picked up her phone. The moment she checked the time, her eyes widened. It was already eight.
She had overslept.
Normally, she woke up a little after six, went for a morning run, grabbed coffee and breakfast, and then started work.
But today, she had slept straight through until eight.
What was wrong with her? Was she becoming unusually drowsy?
Just then, her phone rang. It was Madge.
Ivy answered, “Hey.”
“Ms. Ivy, why aren’t you at the studio yet? This isn’t like you. Come on—tell me, did you and Mr. Lowe stay up too late having fun last night?” Madge teased.
Ivy paused. Nothing had happened the night before, and Nathan was still upset with her.
She needed to fix things between them.
Holding the phone, she said, “I’m not going to the studio today.”
“Why?”
“I’m spending the day with my husband.”
Madge practically squealed. “Wow. Skipping work for love? Look at you! Don’t worry—I’ll rearrange everything.”
Ivy hung up. She rarely took time off, but for Nathan’s sake, she had no choice today.
He had said she was too distant during the day. So today, she would be warm.
Ivy went downstairs and into the dining room.
Wanda greeted her with a smile. “Good morning, Mrs. Lowe. Come have breakfast.”
Ivy sat down. “When did Nathan leave?”
“He went to the office at seven,” Wanda replied. “He said you were still resting and told me not to disturb you.”
He really said that?
Ivy took a sip of milk. “Make some chicken soup later. I’m taking it to Lowe Group.”
Wanda immediately understood. “You’re bringing him a homemade lunch? I’ll get right on it. If Mr. Keith finds out you two are getting along so well, he’ll be over the moon!”
Ivy smiled. “Tell him I’ll give him a great-grandson as soon as I can.”
Wanda adored Ivy. There probably wasn’t a single person who wouldn’t—her manners were impeccable, and her smile was irresistibly warm.
An hour later, Ivy arrived downstairs at Lowe Group.
It was her first time there. Even though she knew how influential the company was, seeing the skyscraper rising into the clouds still left her stunned.
Carrying a thermal container of soup, she walked inside.
The receptionist recognized her instantly. Ivy was naturally beautiful, but today—dressed in a black trench coat and heels, her long hair pinned up—she radiated effortless elegance.
People turned to look, then looked again, as if to confirm she was real.
The receptionist hurried over. “Hello, welcome. Who are you here to see?”
Ivy smiled. “Hello. I’m here to see Mr. Lowe.”
“Do you have an appointment? You’ll need one to meet with our CEO.”
Ivy returned a calm, confident smile. “I won’t need one. I’m his wife— I’m Ivy.”
The receptionist caught her breath. She hadn’t expected the CEO’s wife to be this stunning. Then again, only someone like her could be.
