The Heartbreak Prescription Chapter 1115
Nathan positioned one hand firmly on the edge of the mattress, his heart racing as Ivy unexpectedly yanked him down. In an instant, his striking face was mere inches from hers, their breaths intertwining in a shared moment that felt electric.
He inhaled deeply, catching the gentle aroma of her skin. It wasn’t the usual fragrance of perfume; instead, it was that pure, comforting scent that lingered after a warm shower, evoking a sense of intimacy and warmth.
Nathan steadied himself, his gaze locking onto hers. “What are you doing?” he asked, curiosity lacing his voice.
Ivy, still caught in the haze of sleep, blinked slowly, her eyes clouded with drowsiness. “Nothing. Just thanking you for carrying me to bed,” she murmured, a hint of mischief dancing in her tone.
Was she genuinely expressing her gratitude in this intimate manner?
Nathan felt a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. “That’s a rather unique way of saying thank you. But, uh, could you let go now?”
Yet, Ivy held on, her grip firm. She didn’t want to squander this fleeting moment, so she tilted her head and pressed her lips softly against his.
Time seemed to freeze for Nathan.
Ivy pulled back almost immediately, her eyes searching his for a reaction.
He furrowed his brow slightly, confusion evident. “And what was that supposed to mean?”
Ivy kept her arms wrapped securely around his neck, a playful glint in her eyes. “What do you think?”
Nathan’s gaze flickered down to her flushed lips, a silent question hanging in the air. “Are you asking for more tonight?”
With a soft, teasing tone, Ivy responded, “Don’t you want that?”
Nathan reached out, his long fingers encircling her delicate wrist, pinning her gently yet firmly to the bed.
“I thought we agreed to forget about last night. It was just an accident,” he reminded her, recalling the cold distance she had maintained earlier. He had assumed they both wanted to move on, but now, here she was, wrapped around him, and he was utterly bewildered by her intentions.
Ivy’s lashes fluttered, a hint of vulnerability in her gaze. “You want to forget it?”
Maintaining his gentlemanly demeanor, Nathan replied, “That depends on you.”
Ivy leaned closer, her lips brushing against his once more. “Last night was good. Tonight… I want to feel that good again.”
A flicker of danger ignited in Nathan’s eyes, a dark spark that threatened to unravel his restraint.
Ivy pressed her lips against his softly, then trailed kisses down to his throat, igniting a fire within him.
Nathan inhaled sharply, overwhelmed by her touch. She was like a playful kitten, teasing him, or perhaps a snake coiling around him; all the memories of the previous night surged back, vivid and intoxicating.
She was right; it had been good. Too good.
He swallowed hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing in a nervous gulp.
Noticing his reaction, Ivy slipped her hands from his grasp, wrapping her arms around his neck once more as she kissed him deeply.
Nathan’s breath turned uneven, his heart racing. He tangled his fingers in her hair, cradling the back of her head as he began to respond to her kiss.
Ivy’s hands grew restless, fumbling with the buttons of his shirt, her impatience palpable.
But in her eagerness, the buttons seemed to conspire against her; they refused to budge, as if sewn shut by fate itself.
Frustration bubbled up inside her, and she muttered, “Why won’t this stupid button open?”
Nathan pressed a gentle kiss to her warm cheek, capturing her hands in his. “Why the rush?” he asked, his voice steady and calming.
Ivy looked up at him, her eyes shimmering with desire. “Because I want you.”
When the buttons still wouldn’t cooperate, she took matters into her own hands, slipping her fingers beneath his shirt to touch his abs.
Nathan had never seen her so fervent before; it was almost a greedy hunger in her touch. He grabbed her small hand, his breath hitching. “No, stop.”
Panic flickered in Ivy’s eyes for a moment. Without the tea, he could change his mind at any second. “What do you mean?”
“I haven’t showered yet. I need to wash up first,” Nathan said, attempting to rise from the bed.
Ivy reached out, her voice soft yet insistent. “Carry me.”
Nathan blinked in surprise. “What?”
She reiterated, this time with a sweet, spoiled tone that was hard to resist. “I said, carry me.”
With a resigned smile, Nathan leaned down and lifted her effortlessly into his arms.
Ivy nestled closer, whispering in his ear, “Carry me to the bathroom. I want to shower with you.”
