Shaun replied, [Is that so?]
Just three simple words, but they carried his usual cool, commanding vibe–with a touch of something softer, more caring.
Halsey answered, [Yes, I promise!]
After that, Shaun didn’t reply anymore.
Putting her phone down, Halsey focused on her book. Before she knew it, it was time for class.
“Halsey, let’s go. Class is starting.”
She stood up and said, “Coming.”
The lecture hall was packed this afternoon–everyone was there to see the rising business star.
Halsey couldn’t help but be impressed by just how popular this business star was.
Right before class started, she pulled out her phone again and sent Shaun a text. [What are you doing right now?]
No reply.
Why wasn’t he answering? Probably busy.
Just then, one of her female classmates exclaimed, “Halsey, stop texting! Look, the business star is here!”
The room buzzed. “He’s here! Look!”
“Is he hot?”
“Where is he? I don’t see him!”
Then a tall, handsome figure walked in, and the whole lecture hall erupted with a “Wow!”
“Oh, my god! He’s so handsome!”
“Why is he this good–looking?”
Halsey’s eyes suddenly widened. She was shocked to see a familiar figure on the stage–it was…Shaun!
It was Shaun!
Halsey could hardly believe it. Why was it Shaun?
So, the business star coming to lecture at Anteoch University was actually him!
Suddenly, she felt like she should’ve guessed it earlier. Who else could be called a rising star in the business world besides
Shaun?
Shaun stepped up to the podium and grabbed the microphone. “Hello, everyone. My name is Shaun Lane, and I’m giving the lecture today.”
Applause flooded the room like waves, showing just how excited and welcoming everyone was.
Her classmates were stomping their feet, totally hyped. “Damn, this business star is seriously too handsome!”
“Young, handsome, and rich–gosh, how is he even real?”
“Do you think he has a girlfriend?”
“What? Mr. Lane is here to teach, not to be your boyfriend! If anything, he’s mine!”
Halsey could feel the girls‘ fluttering hearts and cheers all around, Shaun was always like this–surrounded by admirers. Girls lined up to like him.
“Welcome, Mr. Lane!”
Lots of bold students cheered loudly.
Shaun wore a sleek black suit, perfectly tailored. It made him look harp and noble. Standing on the stage, every movement oozed confidence and power. He was like a magnet, drawing everyone’s eyes.
Shaun smirked lightly. “Alright, I’m going to take attendance now to see who’s here.”
He pulled out the attendance list and called names.
“Chloe Bennett!”
“Here!”
“Ethan Parker!”
“Here!”
“Logan Mitchell!”
“Here!”
Halsey sat in the third row. Soon, she heard her name called.
Shaun looked down and said, “Halsey Mallin!”
