The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 708
Was the friend Trevor mentioned from overseas actually Narcissa?
Celeste didn’t ask.
She simply acknowledged Jordyn and hung up the call.
…
And she had guessed correctly.
That night, Narcissa’s welcome-back dinner ended a little after nine.
Jordyn was already getting sleepy by the time Trevor carried her out of the restaurant.
Wrapping her arms around his neck, she yawned and mumbled, “Dad, I want to go to Granny’s. I want to sleep with Mom tonight.”
Trevor smiled softly.
“Alright.”
Then he turned to the others.
“We’ll head out first.”
After that, he looked at Wynn.
“Drive safe.”
“I will. You too.”
With that, Trevor carried Jordyn into the car and left.
Everyone present had clearly heard what Jordyn said moments earlier.
Narcissa already knew Trevor and Celeste hadn’t officially divorced because of Jordyn.
And now, she could tell that Trevor seemed to be growing more and more attached to his daughter as well.
Watching the car disappear into the distance, she commented thoughtfully, “She’s really attached to her mom now, huh? Won’t that become a problem once they divorce?”
Wynn paused slightly but didn’t answer.
Meanwhile, Miles stroked his chin thoughtfully.
“That’s definitely a difficult issue.”
Narcissa frowned faintly and turned to Wynn.
“Haven’t you two talked it through properly yet? She’ll find out eventually. You can’t keep hiding it from her forever.”
“I know, but…”
Narcissa understood that this was something only Trevor and Wynn could deal with themselves.
So even though she was concerned, she didn’t press the matter any further.
At that moment, her gaze shifted toward Beck, who was standing not far away answering a phone call.
She paused briefly before smiling.
“Does Mr. Harper have a girlfriend?”
Both Wynn and Miles were momentarily caught off guard.
But they quickly understood what she meant.
Miles laughed.
“Not that I know of. Ms. Lackspur, are you interested in my friend?”
“A little.”
If nothing unexpected happened, Narcissa knew she’d probably end up in an arranged marriage eventually.
If that was the case, then why not choose someone she actually liked—someone with excellent qualifications?
And from her perspective, Beck was practically the perfect candidate.
He was handsome, capable, mature, and almost flawless.
Miles laughed again.
“If you’re seriously interested and want to pursue him, I fully support it.”
But midway through speaking, he suddenly remembered something.
“Although… my friend already has someone he likes.”
Narcissa didn’t look surprised at all.
“I figured.”
Miles was about to ask how she knew when Narcissa suddenly turned toward Wynn instead.
“So who is it?”
Wynn lowered her gaze and shook her head.
“I don’t know.”
Narcissa blinked in surprise before turning back to Miles.
“You don’t know either?”
“No. She’s not someone we know.”
As they continued talking, Beck finished his phone call and walked back over.
“I’ve got something to deal with, so I’m heading back first. You guys enjoy yourselves.”
Miles cleared his throat and grinned.
“We were just talking about you.”
Since it had been a long time since they’d checked in on Beck’s love life, he asked teasingly, “So? It’s already been this long. When are you finally bringing your mystery girl out for us to meet?”
