Jorge had already heard the rumors that Trevor and Wynn were discussing marriage.

“Ms. Locket, long time no see. I heard you and Mr. Fleming will be announcing your engagement soon. Congratulations.”

Wynn had noticed him the moment he walked in. She smiled at his words. “Thank you.”

His congratulations sounded sincere, but there was also an undertone of probing beneath them. He was trying to confirm whether the rumors were true.

Now that he’d heard it directly from her, he felt genuinely happy for her. At the same time, though, a faint trace of disappointment flickered in his eyes.

After a brief pause, he continued, “I heard your injuries were pretty serious. Have you fully recovered?”

“Not completely, but I’m mostly better now. Thank you for your concern, Mr. Robinson,” Wynn replied.

Jorge nodded. After exchanging a few more polite words, he found an excuse to leave.

The moment he turned around, he saw Matthias and Celeste.

The instant he noticed Celeste, his expression darkened slightly. But since he had already made eye contact with Matthias, he still greeted him politely. “Mr. Yoder.”

Matthias gave a cold nod. “Mr. Robinson.”

And that was all.

It was obvious he had no intention of continuing the conversation.

Sensing the coldness, Jorge didn’t push any further. Still, his gaze drifted toward Celeste a couple of times.

Celeste remained completely indifferent, acting as though she hadn’t seen him at all.

Recently, Jorge had heard that Trevor had been spending nearly every day with Wynn and even bringing his daughter along with him.
