The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 682
Celeste’s car was still at the restaurant from the night before. After breakfast, she got into Trevor’s car, and together they dropped Jordyn off at school.
Once they watched Jordyn walk inside, Trevor turned to Celeste. “Want me to drop you at your office?”
Celeste declined calmly. “No, it’s fine. I’ll take a taxi.”
Trevor nodded without pressing. “Stay safe.”
With that, he gave a brief nod, got back into his car, and drove straight to the Fleming Group.
He spent the morning handling work. At noon, he had a business lunch scheduled.
As he headed downstairs with Jacob and the others, they spotted Wynn waiting near the entrance parking area.
Both Trevor and Jacob paused.
Jacob knew the situation between them had grown tense. Wynn had come by the company several times before and hadn’t managed to see Trevor once.
But she hadn’t shown up for nearly half a month. Her sudden appearance now…
Jacob glanced at Trevor.
At that moment, Wynn walked over with a smile. “Am I interrupting?”
“No,” Trevor replied.
Wynn smiled and followed him into the car.
Watching them sit together in the back seat, Jacob quietly let out a breath of relief. Maybe, after all, Trevor still had feelings for her.
The partition between the front and back seats slowly rose, cutting off Jacob—the ever-observant driver—from view.
As the car merged into traffic, Wynn looked at Trevor. “It’s been a while since we had a proper meal together. I just wanted to see you.”
Trevor gave a soft hum and asked, “How’s your company doing?”
Hearing him bring it up, Wynn’s mood lifted. She began talking about work, her tone growing more relaxed.
The restaurant wasn’t far. They arrived in about ten minutes.
Trevor had brought Wynn to similar gatherings before. This time, he was meeting a few company executives and partners—nothing too formal, just a casual meal.
So no one was surprised to see Wynn with him.
Trevor still had a meeting that afternoon. After the meal, he prepared to leave first while the others stayed behind.
As they walked downstairs and reached the restaurant entrance, Wynn’s expression suddenly changed.
She shoved Trevor. “Watch out!”
Trevor reacted instantly, pushing her away at the same time.
A loud crash exploded through the air.
An air-conditioning unit came crashing down, shattering on impact.
Because of Wynn’s push, Trevor wasn’t hurt. But although he had pushed her too, Wynn’s shoulder still took the full force of the impact.
She hit the ground and lost consciousness.
“Ms. Locket!” Jacob shouted.
The others froze for a split second before panic broke out.
“Get her to the hospital—now!”
Trevor didn’t hesitate. He lifted Wynn into his arms, carried her to the car, and sped straight to the hospital.
Not long after the news spread, members of the Locket and Shaw families rushed to the hospital, worry written all over their faces.
Wynn’s shoulder injury was severe. Though her life wasn’t in danger, the doctor said she would need to stay hospitalized for a while to recover.
A short time later, Beck and Miles arrived as well, carrying flowers and fruit baskets.
By then, Wynn had already regained consciousness.
Everyone knew what she had done.
She had saved Trevor.
Miles looked at her, concern and gratitude filling his eyes. “How are you feeling? Are you okay?”
