The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 672
Beck had come over mainly to see Celeste.
After exchanging a few polite words with her, Matthias, and even the client they were entertaining, he finally turned and left.
Matthias found himself liking Beck more and more.
After Beck walked away, he lowered his voice and said to Celeste, “Every time he runs into us outside, he takes the initiative to come over and say hello. That’s thoughtful.”
To him, it was a clear sign of how much Beck valued their companies’ partnership.
Celeste nodded. She felt the same way.
When Beck returned to the private room, the dishes had already been served.
Miles was in an unusually good mood and poured wine for both Trevor and Beck.
“It’s not often the three of us get together,” he said. “No matter what, we should have a few more drinks today.”
Trevor and Beck raised their glasses and drank with him.
Still, both of them had things to handle later. A little was fine—but neither planned to drink much.
Having grown up together in the same circle, they never lacked conversation. The discussion flowed easily, stretching past half an hour.
Miles would’ve happily stayed longer, but something came up at home. After taking a call, he grabbed his coat and stood.
“I’ve got to go.”
Beck swirled the wine in his glass and glanced at Trevor without drawing attention.
In truth, he had something he wanted to say—but with Miles there earlier, it hadn’t been the right moment.
Just as he was about to bring it up, his phone rang.
He answered, listened briefly, then said, “Alright. I understand. I’ll head back now.”
Trevor looked at him.
“You’re leaving too?”
Beck tightened his grip on his phone.
“Yeah. We—”
He had intended to say something more.
But at that moment, the private room door opened—and Miles, on his way out, nearly walked straight into Celeste and her group.
He stopped short, muttering under his breath, “Damn.”
The moment was gone.
When Trevor saw Celeste and the others, he stepped forward first.
“Mr. Yoder. What a coincidence.”
Earlier, when they learned Miles and Beck were dining here, both Matthias and Celeste had already guessed Trevor was likely present as well.
The only difference was that Beck had come to greet them—Trevor had not.
Now, it was confirmed.
Matthias gave a faint smile.
“What a coincidence indeed.”
Trevor nodded, then glanced at Celeste and gave her a small, polite nod.
They exchanged a few brief pleasantries before heading downstairs together.
Once outside, they went their separate ways.
Celeste returned to the Rodriguez family home.
Just as her car pulled into the courtyard, another car drove in behind her.
She paused.
Trevor stepped out.
“I came to pick up Jo.”
Over the past few days, Jordyn had mostly been staying with the Rodriguez family. But when needed, Trevor would personally come to bring her back to the Fleming manor.
Since the first day of the New Year, Celeste and Trevor had crossed paths several times like this.
The first time he came, he had even brought New Year gift boxes for her cousins, Jamie and Hector.
Even so, the relationship between Celeste and Trevor—and between Trevor and the Rodriguez family—remained distant. Neither warm nor cold.
Hearing his reason for coming, Celeste simply nodded.
At that moment, Jordyn ran out of the house after hearing the car.
When she saw both of them standing there, she paused in surprise.
“Oh? Mom, you’re back too?”
Celeste nodded lightly.
“Mm. Your dad came to pick you up. Go get in the car.”
“Okay!” Jordyn said cheerfully. “I’m leaving then. Bye, Mom.”
