The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 666
It wasn’t a phone call.
Instead, Miles had sent a message in their group chat.
He tagged everyone and asked, “Come on, hurry up and tell me—what plans do you have later tonight? Want to go out and have some fun together?”
Beck replied quickly. “No plans. How do you want to arrange it?”
“That’s exactly what I was waiting for!”
Miles immediately tagged Trevor and Wynn. “What about you two?”
Wynn saw the message but didn’t reply. She waited for Trevor to answer first.
At that moment, Trevor read the messages, picked up his phone, and typed a reply.
“I’m eating at the Rodriguez family’s place right now. Not sure about plans tonight yet—it depends on Jo.”
The moment his message was sent, Beck and Wynn—both staring at their screens—froze for a second.
Neither of them had expected Trevor to be spending New Year’s at the Rodriguez family’s home this year.
Miles, meanwhile, reacted instantly, firing off a string of question marks and exclamation marks.
“????!!!! Wait—you’re at the Rodriguez family’s place right now?”
“Yes.”
Before Miles could ask anything else, Trevor sent another message.
“Still eating. Not convenient to chat. Have fun tonight.”
After replying, he exited the chat, put his phone away, and continued eating.
It took Miles a moment to process what he had just read.
“Trevor really is…”
For a moment, he didn’t even know how to finish the sentence.
Should he say Trevor doted on Jordyn to an extreme—so much that he was willing to spend New Year’s at the Rodriguez family’s home just for her?
But Jordyn was his daughter.
As her father, wasn’t it only natural for him to make certain compromises for his child?
Still, in Miles’s mind, Wynn must already know that Trevor had gone to the Rodriguez family’s place for the New Year.
Regaining his composure, he tagged Wynn.
“Trevor might not be free tonight. What about you? Do you have time?”
Wynn was still digesting the news that Trevor had gone to the Rodriguez family’s home.
Seeing how quickly Miles had moved past the topic, she realized he must have misunderstood and assumed she already knew.
And since he also believed Trevor had gone there purely for Jordyn’s sake, Wynn didn’t bother explaining anything.
After a long pause, she replied, “I don’t have time either. I promised to stay home tonight with both of my grandmothers. You guys go have fun.”
“Alright then.”
Miles immediately began discussing the time and place for their outing with Beck.
Like Miles, Beck also assumed that Wynn had already known Trevor would spend New Year’s at the Rodriguez family’s home—and that it was simply for Jordyn’s sake.
He had actually considered doing what Caleb and Kieran had done: calling Celeste and asking her out directly.
But given their current relationship—neither close friends nor anything more—he didn’t even feel he had the standing to make that call.
Seeing Miles’s messages in the group chat, he suppressed the thought, lowered his head, and typed his reply.
Elsewhere, Wynn sent Trevor a private message.
“You and Jo went to the Rodriguez family’s place for New Year’s? Jo must be really happy. Also—Happy New Year.”
Trevor saw the message and replied.
“Happy New Year.”
That was all.
No extra words.
Yet Wynn smiled when she saw it.
Even though she had also thought about inviting Trevor out, after reading what he said in the group chat earlier, she knew that even if she asked, there was little chance he would agree.
Since that was the case, it was better to simply send him a message.
If he saw it and replied, it would at least keep the connection between them from fading.
