The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 659
The three men moved to a quieter corner of the banquet hall where a small private lounge had been arranged for VIP guests.
Soft music drifted in from the main hall. Waiters quickly brought over a bottle of aged whiskey and several crystal glasses.
Beck poured the drinks himself.
“Tonight’s crowd is bigger than usual,” he remarked casually.
Trevor took the glass and leaned back slightly in his chair.
“YodaVision has been expanding aggressively this year. It’s normal.”
Jorge watched them both with a faint smile.
“Indeed,” he said lightly. “President Shaw certainly knows how to host an impressive banquet.”
Beck chuckled and raised his glass.
“To impressive banquets, then.”
The three glasses clinked softly.
But Jorge’s gaze drifted briefly toward Trevor again.
Trevor looked completely at ease.
No impatience.
No sign of someone who had somewhere else to be.
Jorge remembered the empty entrance of InnovaTech’s banquet hall… and Wynn standing there alone to see off her guests.
The contrast made the scene in front of him feel strangely ironic.
He took a slow sip of his drink.
After a moment, Beck asked casually,
“Mr. Robinson, didn’t you say earlier you came from another banquet?”
Jorge nodded.
“InnovaTech.”
Beck’s hand paused for half a second before he continued drinking.
Trevor, however, remained expressionless.
Jorge continued calmly,
“President Locket hosted it on quite a grand scale.”
Beck said lightly, “She just took over InnovaTech. It makes sense she’d want to make a strong impression.”
Jorge looked at Trevor.
“Many of the guests were expecting Mr. Fleming to appear.”
Trevor met his gaze calmly.
“Were they?”
“Mm,” Jorge replied.
“They waited quite a while.”
For a brief moment, silence fell between them.
Then Trevor took another sip of his whiskey.
“I had other arrangements tonight.”
His tone was calm, almost indifferent.
Jorge smiled faintly.
“Of course.”
Beck sensed the subtle tension and quickly changed the topic.
“Speaking of arrangements, YodaVision’s new project seems to be drawing a lot of attention lately.”
Jorge played along.
“Yes. Matthias is quite ambitious.”
The conversation gradually shifted back to business matters.
Across the hall, Celeste was speaking with several investors.
Kieran stood nearby, quietly observing the room.
His gaze passed over the crowd… and eventually landed on Trevor.
Trevor was sitting with Beck and Jorge, relaxed, holding a drink while talking.
From the outside, everything looked perfectly normal.
Kieran had no idea that, at this very moment, another banquet across the city had already ended—one where many people had been waiting for Trevor to appear.
Back in the lounge, Beck suddenly leaned closer to Trevor and lowered his voice slightly.
“You really didn’t go?”
Trevor looked at him calmly.
“You didn’t either.”
Beck smiled faintly.
“That’s different.”
Trevor didn’t respond.
Beck studied him for a moment before saying quietly,
“She probably waited.”
Trevor’s fingers tightened slightly around his glass.
But his expression didn’t change.
After a moment, he said flatly,
“That has nothing to do with me anymore.”
Beck didn’t reply.
He simply took a slow drink.
Across the room, Celeste laughed softly at something a guest had said.
The sound carried faintly through the hall.
Beck’s gaze unconsciously drifted in that direction again.
Jorge noticed everything.
He swirled the whiskey in his glass and thought to himself—
Tonight’s banquet…
Was far more interesting than it appeared on the surface.
