The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 655
Lincoln smiled warmly, the first to break the silence.
“Cel’s here too? It’s been a long time.”
Celeste nodded. With Jordyn standing nearby, she hesitated for a brief second before softly saying, “Father.”
Lincoln gave her an approving nod. “We’re all blocking the entrance. Let’s head inside and talk.”
Celeste agreed, still slightly stiff, when Jordyn suddenly grabbed her hand and tugged her forward. “Mom, let’s go.”
Inside the private dining room, once everyone had taken their seats, Lincoln turned to her again.
“Cel, I heard you’re doing very well at YodaVision now. Congratulations.”
“Thank you,” Celeste replied politely.
As her words fell, Trevor naturally took the seat beside her. Celeste shifted slightly, turning her head as if she hadn’t noticed.
The Fleming family was clearly curious—about why she had come today, about the current state of her relationship with Trevor. But no one asked.
There had already been more than enough gossip circulating in their social circle about her and Matthias. Since Lincoln knew she was now at YodaVision, he had likely heard some of it too.
Still, he remained silent.
Lincoln and Trevor weren’t particularly close in their personal lives, but they stayed informed about each other’s professional developments. Soon, the two were deep in work-related conversation, with Teagan and Queenie occasionally chiming in.
Celeste caught fragments of the discussion but didn’t insert herself.
Martha, long retired from business matters, had no interest in joining. With a gentle smile, she picked up some food for Celeste instead.
“Cel, have you been especially busy lately? Look at you—you’ve lost weight again.”
Then she asked, “Have you decided on your holiday schedule this year?”
“It’s set,” Celeste answered. “But after the break, I’ll still need to attend a few banquets. Even during the holidays, I won’t really be free.”
As she spoke with Martha, Celeste reached for a piece of duck. At that exact moment, Tucker, distracted, lifted the dish away.
Realizing what had happened, he quickly apologized and moved to set it back down.
But Trevor was faster.
He picked up the piece of duck and placed it onto Celeste’s plate.
“Do you want more?” he asked evenly.
Celeste froze.
Aside from Jordyn, every pair of eyes at the table turned toward them.
When Trevor reached for another piece, Celeste finally recovered.
“That’s enough. Thank you,” she said calmly.
Trevor didn’t respond. He placed the second piece onto his own plate instead.
The subtle exchange didn’t go unnoticed. Though the tension between them seemed to have softened compared to before, the distance remained unmistakable.
Throughout the meal, Lincoln and Trevor did most of the talking. Celeste rarely spoke.
After dinner, in the parking lot, Celeste said quietly, “Grandma, Father, I still have some work to handle. I’ll head out first.”
Rather than returning to the manor with them, she was clearly making an excuse to leave.
Martha sighed inwardly. Lincoln and the others, however, didn’t appear surprised.
They nodded and watched as Celeste drove away before getting into their own cars one by one.
None of them noticed the figure standing at a distance, eyes wide with shock—and unmistakable excitement at the potential gossip.
After Trevor got into his car, that person snapped a photo and sent it to the group chat, tagging him directly.
“Just saw this. Mr. Fleming officially transferred back? First family dinner after returning—and you invited Celeste too? So you two aren’t divorcing for now? Honestly, you’re putting on a pretty convincing act.”
Trevor saw the photo Miles had posted in the group.
He didn’t reply.
Not long after, Wynn and Beck also saw the message.
