“Okay, got it,” Jordyn replied.

She was at the amusement park, completely caught up in games and laughter. After hanging up, she meant to call Celeste right away—but she got distracted. By the time she remembered, it was already past four in the afternoon.

She quickly dialed.

“Mom, do you have time to have dinner together tonight?”

Celeste was still at Fleming Group, reviewing data analysis with her team.

Hearing the question, she assumed Jordyn meant dinner with just the two of them.

Without taking her eyes off the screen, she answered casually, “Yes. Send me the address later. I’ll head over once I’m done with work.”

“Okay!”

“I’m still busy, so I need to hang up,” Celeste added. “We’ll talk tonight, alright?”

Jordyn had wanted to tell her about her day, but hearing that, she swallowed her excitement.
