The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 653
After the meal ended, Jorge turned to Matthias.
“Mr. Yoder, could I have a word with you?”
Celeste had never told Matthias about the time Jorge had seen her dining out with Trevor and his daughter, so Matthias genuinely had no idea what this was about.
He didn’t like Jorge—that much was true—but out of respect for Theodore, he nodded anyway.
They stepped a short distance away from the others.
“What is it?” Matthias asked calmly.
Jorge hesitated.
He didn’t dislike Matthias. If anything, he respected him.
It was Celeste he had an issue with.
And precisely because he respected Matthias, he didn’t want him to continue being misled.
But it was obvious Matthias cared deeply about Celeste. Their relationship seemed solid.
Anything he said now would likely be dismissed—or worse, create more tension between them.
After a brief pause, Jorge decided to speak plainly.
“Some time ago, I ran into Ms. Rodriguez while I was out for dinner. She was with Mr. Fleming and his daughter. They looked… close.”
Matthias finally understood where this was going.
He lifted an eyebrow slightly. “Oh? Really?”
To Jorge, that reaction sounded like disbelief—maybe even suspicion that he was trying to stir up trouble.
He pressed his lips together but continued.
“It wasn’t just that once. I’ve also seen Ms. Rodriguez and Mr. Fleming acting intimate on another occasion.”
After saying that, he didn’t wait for Matthias to respond.
“No matter what you think of me—even if I don’t like Celeste—I’m not so low as to deliberately sabotage your relationship. I’m simply telling you what I saw. Whether you choose to believe it is up to you.”
With that, he gave Matthias a brief nod and walked away.
Matthias’s brows lifted slightly.
Celeste hadn’t left yet. She was waiting for him.
When she saw him coming back—and remembered the look Jorge had given her before leaving—she immediately guessed what had been said.
“He told you about me meeting Trevor in private?” she asked.
Matthias smiled faintly. “Yes. I didn’t expect that.”
Though, truthfully, it wasn’t entirely surprising.
The way Jorge had been looking at Celeste earlier made it clear he was increasingly displeased with her.
Celeste offered a small smile and said nothing more.
Jorge had already gotten into his car, but he hadn’t driven off yet. When he glanced back, he saw Matthias leaning toward Celeste, smiling as he spoke softly to her.
Matthias looked relaxed—almost amused—like he was sharing gossip rather than processing a warning.
There wasn’t the slightest trace of doubt on his face.
Jorge frowned.
He’d known there was a strong chance Matthias wouldn’t believe him. After all, he had no proof.
But he hadn’t expected Matthias to dismiss it so completely.
Trevor was still there as well.
He exchanged another greeting with Matthias, but just as he started speaking, his phone rang.
He answered casually.
No one knew what was said on the other end, but his expression shifted slightly before he replied, “Alright. I understand.”
After hanging up, he exchanged a few more polite words with Matthias. Then everyone headed to their respective cars and left.
Once inside his vehicle, Trevor called Jordyn.
“Jo, your grandpa’s back,” he said. “Don’t stay out too late. Come home tonight and have dinner with your grandpa and the family.”
