The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 650
Wynn smiled. “I understand. Thank you, Mr. Collins.”
That afternoon, Celeste received a call from Jordyn. She wanted to go out to eat and asked if Celeste could join her.
Jordyn had already been on holiday for a few days, but Celeste had been swamped with work and hadn’t had time to see her. She also knew Jordyn had gone out with Wynn a couple of days earlier.
Since she was free that evening, Celeste agreed.
That night, she drove to the address Jordyn had sent.
The moment she stepped out of the car, Jordyn came running toward her, Trevor a few steps behind.
Seeing Trevor made Celeste pause for just a second.
But when Jordyn threw herself into her arms, Celeste gently patted her head and leaned down to greet her.
After mother and daughter finished their warm exchange, Trevor finally spoke. “It’s cold. Let’s head inside.”
Celeste didn’t respond. She let Jordyn lead her into the restaurant.
Both she and Trevor had dined there before, and the manager recognized them immediately.
When he saw them walk in together—and noticed “Mr. Fleming’s daughter” holding Celeste’s hand so affectionately—his expression shifted to visible shock. Clearly, he hadn’t expected their relationship to look so close in private.
Celeste caught the surprise in his eyes.
Some time ago, when Trevor had accompanied her and Jordyn shopping, she had already been taken aback. Now, with the three of them dining together so openly, he still made no effort to avoid attention.
It was as if he truly didn’t care whether people found out about them.
After they entered a private room and ordered, most of the conversation came from Celeste and Jordyn. Trevor spoke only occasionally, mostly watching the two of them interact.
Before the food arrived, Jordyn excused herself to the restroom.
Trevor set down his cup and looked at Celeste. “Have you thought more about not divorcing for now?”
“It’s fine,” Celeste replied calmly.
He didn’t seem surprised. He simply nodded.
Silence settled between them.
A moment later, Jordyn returned, and the room filled with conversation again.
Midway through the meal, Jordyn suddenly remembered something. “Mom, when are you going on holiday?”
“I’m not sure yet. Why?”
“Nothing. I just hope you can come home sooner.” She paused, then added, “When you’re on holiday, you’ll have time to move back home, right?”
Celeste froze mid-bite. She glanced at Trevor, then quickly looked away. She was about to answer when Trevor spoke first.
“Once your mom wraps up her work, she’ll come back.”
Jordyn’s face lit up. “Yay! Then, Mom, you have to take your holiday soon!”
“…Okay,” Celeste replied softly.
After that, they changed the subject.
When dinner ended, Celeste still had to return to the office.
Not long after getting into her car, her phone buzzed with a message from Trevor.
“This year, you’ll need to come back for the New Year.”
Celeste’s fingers hovered over the screen as she frowned. Before she could reply, another message came through.
“Jo’s getting older. If you’re not there for the New Year, she’ll start to suspect something.”
Celeste stared at the screen for a long time.
Then she deleted what she had typed and simply replied:
“I understand.”
After that, Trevor didn’t respond.
