The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 649
After the dinner ended, Wynn got into Trevor’s car.
She turned to him and asked softly, “Are you angry?”
What she meant was obvious—she had gone through Jacob to find him without asking for his permission.
Trevor answered calmly, “No.”
Then he added, “I’ll have the driver take you home.”
He instructed the driver to head to the Locket residence.
Wynn didn’t object. Instead, she looked at Trevor and reached out to hold his hand.
He paused briefly.
When he came back to his senses and started to pull away, Wynn leaned closer to him.
Trevor immediately turned his face aside, removed her hand, and shifted slightly to create distance between them.
Right then, his phone rang.
“I need to take this,” he said, picking up the call.
Wynn showed no trace of embarrassment. She leaned back against her seat. “Alright.”
Trevor discussed work on the phone for several minutes before finally hanging up.
Wynn didn’t mention what had just happened.
Instead, she smiled and picked up on the topic from his call. “I thought that project was already finalized.”
“It wasn’t. Something came up and delayed the progress.”
Wynn nodded and continued talking with him about company matters.
The atmosphere remained calm and civil, as if the earlier rejection had never occurred. She didn’t attempt to get closer again.
Pushing too hard would only backfire.
If Trevor grew impatient and brought up a breakup himself, it would only hurt her position.
When the car arrived at the Locket residence, Wynn prepared to get out.
“It’s been a while since you came over,” she said lightly. “Why don’t you come in for a bit?”
Trevor remained seated. “No. I still have something to handle. Another time.”
Wynn didn’t insist. “Alright.”
Without another word, Trevor drove away before anyone from the Locket family could come outside.
It was only when they saw his car pulling off that they realized he had been the one who brought Wynn home.
Ruby frowned. “Why didn’t Trevor come in?”
Wynn didn’t respond.
Noticing her expression, Lilian immediately understood things hadn’t gone smoothly. “How did it go?” she asked.
What Wynn had done in the car was a deliberate test—to gauge Trevor’s attitude toward her.
The result was clear.
He hadn’t broken up with her.
But he was refusing any physical intimacy.
If she truly wanted to turn the situation around through pregnancy, then Trevor’s side would likely be the biggest obstacle.
Ruby, however, remained optimistic. “Take it slow. There will always be an opportunity.”
After all, Trevor still hadn’t taken the initiative to end things.
That was what Wynn was thinking too.
Since she had decided to win Trevor back, she would have to take the initiative.
Still, she didn’t recklessly show up to see him again. Instead, she called him.
Trevor didn’t answer.
He didn’t return her call either.
Wynn had already anticipated that.
After thinking it over, she called Jacob and asked whether Trevor had reprimanded him for revealing his schedule.
Jacob replied, “No. Mr. Fleming wasn’t angry and didn’t blame me. But… he did say something like this can’t happen a second time. So, Ms. Locket… I’m sorry.”
