The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 646
Trevor’s gaze drifted to where Kieran’s hand had just wrapped around Celeste’s. He held his teacup, smiled faintly, and took a slow sip without saying a word.
Trevor had never truly had feelings for Celeste. Now that their divorce was only temporarily on hold, it made sense that he wouldn’t care about her having physical contact with another man.
What surprised Miles instead was how sought-after Celeste had become. Beyond Matthias, there were now other highly qualified men clearly interested in her.
Because of the earlier tension between Celeste and Wynn, Kieran had initially assumed that negotiations with Trevor would be awkward or strained. Yet the discussion flowed unexpectedly smoothly.
Trevor’s attitude toward Celeste was calm—almost gentle. A few times, when Kieran was distracted and forgot to refill her tea, Trevor casually did it himself.
It was as though the friction between Wynn and Celeste had never existed.
But that wasn’t true.
In their previous encounters, Celeste and Wynn had barely acknowledged each other. The resentment between them had been obvious—nothing like a relationship where past grievances had truly been resolved.
Still, they were all adults. Whether it was Trevor or Celeste, they were simply being professional—keeping business separate from personal matters.
It wasn’t until after five in the evening that the meeting finally paused.
Trevor glanced at his watch and looked at Celeste. “It’s getting late. How about we have dinner together?”
Celeste didn’t think it was necessary. She stood. “I already have plans. Maybe next time. For the follow-up on the collaboration, I’ll coordinate with Mr. Stone.”
“Alright.”
They shook hands politely once more before Celeste left with Kieran.
Miles, who had spent most of the afternoon idly playing games on his phone, straightened up as she walked out. A thought suddenly struck him.
“Oh, right—you two decided to postpone the divorce for now. Does that ‘temporary postponement’ have a deadline?”
Trevor took a sip of water. “No.”
“Huh? No timeline at all?”
Trevor set his cup down and rose to his feet. “No.”
“So how long are you planning to drag this out?”
If it stretched on for three to five years—or even seven or eight—would Wynn really accept that?
Trevor’s faint smile returned. “It won’t drag on forever. You don’t need to worry.”
Miles assumed that meant Trevor already had a plan in mind—a deadline he wasn’t revealing. Relieved, he didn’t press further.
Meanwhile, after spending the day with Jordyn, Wynn returned home. Her family immediately asked how the past two days had gone.
When they heard that Trevor hadn’t shown up even once, neither the Lockets nor the Shaws seemed particularly disappointed.
Lennox said, “The fact that Trevor still allows you to see Jordyn alone shows he trusts you. It also means he hasn’t completely cut things off. That’s actually a good sign.”
“Exactly,” the others agreed.
It had been nearly half a month since Trevor and Celeste’s last divorce filing period.
In the past, they would have already returned to the courthouse to file again. But this time, there had been no movement at all.
“How about you ask around, Wynn?” someone suggested. “Maybe check with Miles or Beck.”
Asking Miles was manageable.
But Beck…
Wynn lowered her gaze slightly. “Alright. I understand.”
