The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 644
The next day, Wynn took Jordyn out to explore.
They went everywhere Jordyn wanted, and she had an amazing time.
By evening, Wynn asked, “Jo, there’s a bonfire party tonight, and more activities tomorrow morning. Do you want to stay one more night?”
Trevor and Celeste had both been too busy to spend time with her lately, and Jordyn had been bored. The moment she heard that, she nodded eagerly. “Sure!”
“Then I’ll let your dad know.”
“Okay.”
Wynn picked up her phone. She meant to call Trevor, but just before dialing, she switched to texting instead.
She sent the message quickly.
Lately, Trevor rarely answered her calls. Even when she texted, his replies were infrequent—and usually delayed.
She assumed this time would be no different.
To her surprise, he responded not long after: Okay, got it. Thanks.
Wynn paused when she saw it, then typed another message.
Still busy?
This time, the wait was long.
Yeah, he finally replied.
Wynn stared at the screen. He hadn’t asked where they’d gone. He hadn’t asked if Jordyn had fun. Even though he replied, it felt perfunctory. Distant.
She hesitated, fingers hovering over the keyboard. She wanted to ask if he had time tomorrow night.
In the end, she didn’t.
Instead, she typed: Jo and I are going to grab dinner first.
After another long pause, he replied: Okay.
That night, Wynn and Jordyn checked into a hotel near the scenic area.
Back in their room, Jordyn called Trevor. He picked up almost immediately.
She had him on speaker, so Wynn heard everything clearly.
Trevor sounded like he was still in the car. As Jordyn excitedly shared every detail of her day, he listened carefully, responding to each story with patience and warmth.
Miles and the others had always said Trevor treated Jordyn exceptionally well.
Even Wynn had felt that.
Back when their relationship was at its best—when Trevor had been completely devoted to her—she had still sensed that, in his heart, Jordyn came first.
And yet, before Jordyn turned three, Trevor hadn’t even liked her.
The thought made Wynn pause.
After a moment, she pulled herself back and joined the call. “Heading to a business dinner?”
“Yeah,” Trevor replied.
“Jo and I are probably staying another day to have fun. Do you have time to come over and grab a meal with us tomorrow?”
Jordyn missed him too.
She quickly added, “Yeah, Dad, why don’t you come hang out with us for half a day tomorrow?”
Trevor didn’t give a definite answer.
“I’ll see if I can make some time,” he said. “If I can, I’ll let you know.”
Jordyn’s voice softened with disappointment. “Okay then…”
They chatted a little longer. Just before hanging up, Trevor said politely to Wynn, “Thanks for taking care of Jo these past two days.”
Wynn smiled.
“It’s no trouble at all,” she replied gently. “Having Jo with me on this trip makes me really happy too.”
