The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 640
Miles stared at Trevor in disbelief. “Wait—what? You’re not getting divorced? Why?”
Before Trevor could respond, realization hit him. “Is it because of Jo?”
He asked because he knew Jordyn had grown especially close to Celeste recently.
Trevor gave a quiet hum in confirmation.
Miles paused, then frowned. “And Celeste agreed to that?”
“Yes.”
Miles clicked his tongue. “Really? I didn’t think she would. When you first started the divorce process, she gave up custody of Jo without any hesitation.”
He continued, lowering his voice slightly. “And now she’s doing great working with Matthias. I heard she even went to the Robinson family’s place for dinner yesterday—with Matthias and Zachary.”
“The Robinsons—and even Harold—apparently like her a lot.”
Trevor raised an eyebrow slightly. “Oh? Is that so?”
“That’s what I heard from people at home.”
Trevor only smiled faintly and didn’t press further.
Later that day, when Miles called Beck, he mentioned that Trevor and Celeste had decided to postpone the divorce for Jordyn’s sake.
Beck froze. “Postpone… the divorce?”
“Yes.” Miles sighed. “I get doing it for the child. But honestly, it feels meaningless.
“Even if they stay legally married, they both still have someone else by their side. Trevor won’t keep Wynn waiting forever. Sooner or later, he’ll marry her.”
He added, “Besides, Jo seems to like Wynn too. Trevor might as well talk things through with Jo. Maybe Jo would understand.”
Beck asked quietly, “What did Trevor say?”
“He had something else to handle, so we didn’t talk long. But if he chose to delay the divorce, he probably didn’t see another option.
“Jo’s attached to Celeste now. He probably doesn’t dare tell her the truth outright, afraid she won’t be able to handle it.”
Beck responded with a low hum.
That afternoon, after finishing work at the Fleming Group, Celeste went out to dinner with Lazarus and a few others.
When they arrived at the restaurant, they ran into Harvey and Lennox.
Because of Wynn, Lazarus and the group were familiar with Harvey. They exchanged polite greetings.
Harvey and Lennox smiled and shook hands with them.
After the pleasantries, their attention naturally shifted to Celeste, who stood quietly to the side.
Harvey’s expression remained neutral.
Lennox’s darkened instantly.
Lazarus and the others were perceptive enough to notice.
They assumed the Lockets were aware that Trevor still had feelings for Celeste—and that Celeste’s presence had affected Trevor and Wynn’s relationship. It was only natural the Lockets wouldn’t be pleased.
An awkward smile crossed Lazarus’s face. He abandoned the idea of making formal introductions. After a few more polite exchanges, both parties headed to their respective private rooms.
From start to finish, Celeste didn’t spare Harvey or Lennox a single glance.
Her expression was distant—icy.
After watching her disappear down the hallway, Lennox’s gaze grew colder.
“She’s getting more arrogant by the day.”
Harvey remained silent.
The day before, Wynn had gone to see Trevor, intending to win him back.
She did manage to meet him—but only briefly.
They hadn’t even shared a meal.
Trevor truly seemed indifferent to her now.
As for the mounting problems at their company, Wynn hadn’t found a single opportunity to bring them up.
And the pressure they were under was only increasing.
