The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 635
On Monday, after Celeste and Jordyn finished breakfast and were about to head out, the sound of a car pulling up drifted in from outside.
Trevor had arrived.
Jordyn ran out, beaming. “Dad, you’re here!”
“Mhm.” Trevor nodded at Celeste. “Morning. Should we get in the car?”
Celeste didn’t respond. She got into his car with Jordyn.
The ride was quiet. Things had ended awkwardly the last time she left the manor, and neither of them seemed inclined to break the silence.
When they arrived at the school, Jordyn grabbed Celeste’s hand and tugged her toward the classroom. Trevor walked beside Celeste on her left, saying nothing.
The sun was bright, but the wind cut through the warmth. Celeste instinctively tucked her chin down.
Trevor glanced at her. “Are you cold? There’s—”
“I’m not cold,” Celeste said calmly.
She wasn’t pretending. She genuinely didn’t feel cold.
Trevor studied her for a moment. Seeing she meant it, he let it go.
Jordyn pulled Celeste ahead and entered the classroom first. When Donna saw them, she paused, clearly assuming only the two of them had come.
Before she could speak, Trevor stepped in behind them.
Her surprise faded into a polite smile. “Mr. Fleming, Mrs. Fleming, Jordyn’s seat is over here. Please, this way.”
Celeste and Trevor nodded and took their seats. Almost immediately, one of Jordyn’s classmates hurried over, eyeing them with open curiosity.
“Jordyn, are these your mom and dad? Your dad is so handsome, and your mom is so pretty! So your parents really aren’t divorced?”
Jordyn lifted her chin with a little huff. “Of course not. Your parents are the ones who got divorced. My mom and dad are totally fine.”
Before the meeting officially began, she ran off with her classmates, laughing as if nothing in the world could touch her.
Celeste watched her go. When she finally looked away, she found Trevor already looking at her.
She stilled under his gaze.
Before she could respond, Tilda approached and greeted Celeste. It had been a while since they’d seen each other, and they chatted briefly.
Only afterward did Tilda give Trevor an awkward nod.
Trevor replied courteously, “Hello.”
Soon, the parents’ meeting began.
After it ended, Donna walked over to them. She hesitated before speaking.
“Jordyn hasn’t been in a very good mood these past few days. It might be related to… some issues between you as a couple.”
Donna knew who Trevor was. She had also seen Celeste in the news and understood that she, too, was highly accomplished. Standing before two successful parents while she was “just” a primary school teacher made her cautious about overstepping.
From what Jordyn had said, it seemed Celeste and Trevor weren’t divorced—but Donna wasn’t entirely sure.
After a brief pause, she continued carefully, “It’s rare to see Jordyn this down. Moving forward, when it comes to her emotional and psychological well-being, I hope you’ll both pay a little more attention.”
Her meaning was clear: regardless of their relationship status, the child needed reassurance.
Celeste and Trevor both understood.
They nodded at the same time.
“We will,” Trevor said politely. “Thank you for your concern, Ms. Aspen.”
