The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 630
After a brief pause, Celeste said calmly, “But I have to go on a business trip tomorrow.”
“Huh? Another business trip?” Jordyn looked disappointed.
Celeste hummed softly and gently rubbed her head. “It’s getting late. Go back and rest with your dad first. When I get back from the trip, we’ll talk then.”
Jordyn pouted. “Okay…”
At that moment, Trevor suddenly spoke. “How many days?”
Celeste assumed he was asking because he wanted to know when she would be back, so they could reapply for the marriage certificate and move forward with the divorce.
“Probably two to three days,” she replied.
Trevor nodded, his tone fairly gentle. “Alright. Have a safe trip.”
After that, he left with Jordyn and got into the car.
Not long after Trevor and Jordyn returned home, Miles called. “I heard you’re back. Finally done with work?”
“Not that fast,” Trevor replied. He watched Jordyn head upstairs, then sat down on the sofa.
Miles continued, “So you’re not free to have a meal together tomorrow either?”
“I am free tomorrow,” Trevor said.
Hearing that, Miles’s expression finally eased a little. But then, as if something occurred to him, he asked, “So tomorrow morning, are you going to the courthouse with Celeste again to apply for the divorce?”
“She’s not free tomorrow,” Trevor replied. “She’s going on a business trip.”
“Another business trip?” Miles frowned. “Then when are you two actually getting divorced? Honestly, you’ve been dragging this out for a long time. If I weren’t worried about the impact, I’d have already advised you to sue for divorce.”
Trevor casually flipped through the newspaper and abruptly changed the subject. “Where are we eating tomorrow?”
Miles assumed Trevor simply didn’t want to talk about Celeste and the divorce anymore, so he didn’t press further. “I’ll ask Beck and send you the address later.”
“Okay.”
When Beck received Miles’s call, he hesitated for a moment before declining, citing something important he needed to attend to.
Still, he couldn’t help asking about Trevor and Celeste. “Did Trevor and Celeste plan to apply for divorce tomorrow?”
Thinking it was just idle gossip, Miles answered without suspicion. “No. Trevor said Celeste is going on a business trip tomorrow, so she doesn’t have time.”
Beck lowered his gaze. “Mm.”
At noon the next day, when Miles arrived at the restaurant and saw that only Trevor was in the private room, he couldn’t help asking, “Wynn isn’t coming?”
Trevor calmly brewed tea. “No.”
Miles assumed Wynn must be busy with something. After sitting down, he sighed. “Just the two of us again. Feels pretty quiet.”
Trevor merely smiled and said nothing.
After the meal, when they stepped out of the private room, they happened to run into Wynn and the others coming out from another exit.
Everyone on both sides—except Trevor—looked a little surprised.
However, when Wynn, Lilian, and the others saw that only Trevor and Miles had been dining together, the surprise on their faces quickly faded, and the smiles at the corners of their mouths dimmed as well.
They all knew that in the past, whenever Trevor gathered for a meal with Miles and the others, Wynn would always be included.
But this time…
Moreover, Trevor had already returned from his business trip and clearly had time to eat with Miles, yet he hadn’t contacted Wynn even once.
If they hadn’t run into him here today, they still wouldn’t have known that Trevor was already back.
Since he had returned, they couldn’t help wondering whether he and Celeste had gone to the courthouse today to continue handling the divorce procedures.
