The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 629
The next morning, Celeste finally received a reply from Trevor.
“Sorry, I just saw your missed call. I have something very important to take care of tomorrow. As for the divorce, we’ll have to find another time.”
After reading the message, Celeste realized she had nothing left to reproach him for.
After all, this time, she had also missed the chance to finalize the divorce because of her own work.
She didn’t reply.
That evening, Celeste attended a banquet with Matthias.
Wynn and her family were there as well, along with Beck.
The moment Beck found an opening, he came over to greet her.
“Good evening.”
Celeste nodded. “It’s been a while.”
“It has,” Beck said, his gaze lingering on her face. “Have you been very busy lately? Not sleeping well?”
Celeste nodded. “A bit busy.”
Beck had always kept an eye on her divorce from Trevor and knew that today marked the final day of their cooling-off period.
Which meant Celeste and Trevor were still legally husband and wife.
They still hadn’t completed the divorce.
Recently, he hadn’t interacted much with Trevor or Wynn, so he wasn’t as clear on their situation as before. Besides, Trevor flying around the world year-round had always been normal. Seeing him abroad so often over the past few months hadn’t raised any red flags.
“I heard from Miles that Trevor might not be back for a few more days,” Beck said.
At the mention of Trevor, Celeste’s tone cooled. She simply hummed in response.
Beck didn’t pursue the topic.
Just then, Matthias returned. The three chatted for a bit longer before Beck excused himself to attend to other matters.
Wynn, Harvey, and the rest were all present.
Although Celeste paid them little attention, they had been watching her closely the entire time.
Seeing how close she seemed to Matthias, Linda ground her teeth in anger.
“She’s clearly so close to Matthias, yet she’s still clinging to Trev. Shameless.”
Wynn and Lilian remained silent, but both shot Linda a warning look, signaling her not to speak carelessly in public.
Lately, Wynn, Lilian, and Harvey had all been in terrible moods.
Aside from the fact that Trevor and Celeste still hadn’t officially divorced, there was another reason.
Half a month ago, after Trevor left on a business trip to Andostan, he hadn’t contacted Wynn even once.
Even when he returned to the country some time ago, he still hadn’t reached out to her.
If he was truly that busy, then how did he still manage to make time to accompany Jordyn so often?
By now, regardless of whether Trevor and Celeste were divorced, and regardless of the reasons, one thing was painfully clear—Trevor was no longer as invested in her as before. He was withdrawing emotionally.
Celeste knew nothing about any of this.
After finishing her work-related discussions with Matthias, she left the banquet with him.
Three days later, Celeste worked late again. When she arrived home, she noticed a car parked outside her door.
When she saw the license plate, she paused.
Before she could say anything, Trevor stepped out of the car. “You’re back.”
Before Celeste could respond, Jordyn came running out of the house.
“Dad!”
After calling out to her father, Jordyn noticed Celeste and immediately threw herself into her arms.
“Mom, you’re home!”
Celeste had just hummed in response when Jordyn said excitedly, “Dad just got off the plane and came straight here to pick me up. Mom, since you’re back too, let’s go home together with Dad!”
