The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 624
There was no way Celeste could go back with Jordyn.
Just as she was thinking about how to respond, Trevor spoke up. “We’ll talk about your mom moving back another time. She’s been busy all day and is already exhausted.”
Jordyn looked up and noticed Celeste’s frown, the fatigue obvious on her face. She didn’t insist anymore.
“Okay, then next time,” she said.
After a pause, she added, “Mom, you should go take a shower and rest. I’ll stay here with you tonight.”
Celeste nodded. “Okay.”
When Celeste went to shower, she brought her phone with her and sent Trevor a message.
You should tell Jo about the divorce as soon as possible.
He replied quickly. I know. But it’s hard to explain.
Celeste understood exactly what he meant.
Judging by Jordyn’s reaction that day, if she found out about the divorce now, she definitely wouldn’t accept it. But if they finalized everything without telling her, and she learned the truth later, her reaction would likely be even worse.
Think of a way, Celeste replied.
I will, Trevor answered.
After that, neither of them sent another message.
By the time Celeste finished showering and came out, Jordyn was already asleep. Celeste tucked her in and looked at the faint smile still lingering on her face, even in her dreams. She found herself staring for a long moment, lost in thought.
That night, Celeste barely slept.
The next morning, after dropping Jordyn off at school, she went straight to work. Noticing how unwell she looked, Matthias asked what was wrong. After hearing her explanation, he paused.
“That really is a difficult situation.”
It was her child. Since she had given birth to her, she had to shoulder that responsibility.
But between her and Trevor…
Matthias lightly patted Celeste on the shoulder. He had no experience with matters like this and couldn’t offer any useful advice.
That afternoon, Celeste went to Fleming Group again.
There was a meeting that day, and Trevor was there.
They greeted each other with a brief nod, like complete strangers, and after that, there was almost no interaction between them.
Because she was busy with the government project they had secured earlier, Celeste still had to return to her own company to work overtime even after finishing her tasks at Fleming Group.
Over the next two or three days, perhaps because Jordyn knew Celeste had been working late every night, she didn’t bring up the topic of “moving back home” again.
At that point, there were only two days left before the mandatory waiting period for Celeste and Trevor’s divorce ended.
Thinking about the fact that Jordyn still didn’t know anything about it, Celeste hesitated for a moment before sending Trevor a message.
I’m free in the morning two days from now.
More than half an hour later, Trevor replied. I’m free too.
Just as Celeste finished reading it, another message came in.
I still haven’t told Jo. Are you sure you want to go get the certificate in two days?
Celeste hesitated as well.
But between her and Trevor, this step was inevitable. It was only a matter of time. Jordyn would have to face this reality sooner or later.
With that thought, she replied, I’m sure.
Trevor seemed to reach the same conclusion. Okay.
Celeste put her phone down.
On Friday evening, as usual, Jordyn came straight to Celeste’s place after school and stayed at the Rodriguez residence for the entire weekend. Trevor didn’t show up at all.
On Sunday night, Jordyn went back home.
That night, Celeste went to bed early.
The next morning, after waking up and having breakfast, she went upstairs to pack her things, preparing to head out.
