The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 617
This round of bidding ultimately went to YodaVision.
Locket Tech losing the project was not entirely unexpected—both the Lockets and the Shaws had anticipated the possibility. Still, seeing so many major corporations compete, only for YodaVision to come out on top, left a bitter taste.
Losing the bid stung, but there were bigger concerns.
The project Locket Tech had been developing with Trevor’s help had hit yet another bottleneck. Continuing R&D meant pouring in more funding—funding they simply didn’t have. InnovaTech faced the same challenge. Without sufficient cash flow, ongoing projects would stall, and neither company could afford that.
Celeste was unaware of the recent developments between Trevor and Wynn. After YodaVision won the bid, she’d been so busy she worked overtime on Saturday. By Sunday, when she finally had a day off, Jordyn appeared at the Rodriguez residence early in the morning.
Celeste, exhausted from the previous day, had slept in. Jordyn didn’t wake her. She waited patiently until Celeste opened her eyes.
“Mom, you’re awake! Are you hungry? Dad’s downstairs. He wants to talk to you,” Jordyn said, burrowing into her arms.
Despite still feeling groggy, her daughter’s words cleared her mind instantly.
About ten minutes later, Celeste went downstairs to find Trevor in the living room, calmly drinking tea.
“Good morning,” he greeted her, as though nothing were amiss.
With Jordyn present, Celeste simply nodded. She instructed the servant to prepare breakfast, then noticed Trevor’s gaze lingering on her.
Before she could speak, he said, “I heard YodaVision won the government project a few days ago. Congratulations.”
Celeste blinked. The Locket family had lost the bid as well—why was he congratulating her? She couldn’t read whether it was sincere.
After sitting across from him, she replied evenly, “Thank you.” Then she asked, “Jordyn said you wanted to talk to me?”
Trevor leaned back slightly. “I have a friend who’s very interested in you.”
Celeste raised an eyebrow.
“He has a project he’d like to collaborate on—with Fleming Group and YodaVision. Would you be interested in a meal to learn more about it?”
As if anticipating hesitation, he added, “He’s worked with tech giants around the world. Through him, you might gain access to overseas developments and world-class talent—cutting-edge innovation you might not yet be aware of.”
Celeste considered this. YodaVision had plenty of projects already. But for a company aiming to maintain a long-term edge, innovation alone wasn’t enough. Building a composite advantage, one others couldn’t replicate easily, was key—and in that regard, YodaVision still had gaps.
After a brief pause, she asked, “When?”
“He arrived in Baumond yesterday. We’re having lunch together. Want to join?”
“Alright,” Celeste said. It was already past ten, and she hadn’t eaten breakfast. “Send me the address. I’ll—”
Trevor interrupted, calm but firm. “I’ll wait for you.”
Celeste paused, meeting his eyes. Then she replied evenly, “No need. I’ll go on my own.”
If you like, I can continue the next part with Celeste arriving at the lunch meeting—building tension with Trevor’s mysterious associate, while showing her poise and strategic thinking.
Do you want me to continue with that next?
