The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 596
Trevor replied quickly. “Okay, got it.”
Even so, three or four more days passed, and Celeste still didn’t receive any message from him about setting a time to go to the courthouse and finalize the divorce.
Trevor had already been back in the country for over a week, yet he still hadn’t taken the initiative to bring up the divorce.
Naturally, both the Locket and Shaw families were aware of this.
Not only that—they also knew that during this entire week, Trevor had barely met with Wynn.
If Trevor had been overwhelmed with work, they could have understood. But as far as they knew, his schedule hadn’t been particularly busy at all.
Earlier, Wynn had mentioned that after Trevor discovered how capable Celeste was professionally, his attitude toward her had gradually begun to change.
By now, it seemed that Trevor had developed feelings for Celeste—enough to make him hesitant about going through with the divorce.
Even so, the Lockets and the Shaws still believed that Trevor’s feelings for Wynn ran deep.
But as the days dragged on, Trevor continued to avoid divorcing Celeste despite having the time. At the same time, he was seeing Wynn less and less.
With him wavering like this, could it be that Celeste’s place in his heart had begun to rival Wynn’s?
Linda couldn’t accept that possibility. She burst out angrily, “Impossible! How could Celeste ever compare to Wynn? Trev would never abandon Wynn for her!”
The others felt the same way.
In their eyes, although Celeste was impressive in the AI field, Wynn wasn’t just outstanding in AI—she excelled in many areas.
She was exceptional overall. How could Celeste possibly compete with her?
Still, the facts were undeniable. Trevor was unwilling to divorce Celeste, and he had clearly reduced the frequency of his meetings with Wynn.
Lilian spoke calmly. “Let’s wait a little longer.”
Linda nodded in agreement. “Yes. Once Trev figures things out, he’ll definitely choose Wynn. What does Celeste even have that’s worth comparing to her?”
On Trevor’s side, his repeated excuses about having “no time” to divorce Celeste didn’t go unnoticed by Matthias.
Matthias frowned. “So if he keeps saying he has no time, does that mean you’re just never getting divorced? When you do see him, you should push him harder. Make him go to the courthouse with you.”
Celeste nodded. “I know. I’ve already urged him a few times. I’ll message him again later.”
Matthias responded with a quiet, “Mm.”
As soon as he finished speaking, they turned a corner—and ran straight into the Locket family.
Matthias curled his lips in faint disdain, clearly unwilling to deal with them. He reached out, took Celeste’s hand, and strode past without slowing down.
Wynn, Lilian, and the others had heard every word of the conversation between Matthias and Celeste.
As they watched the two walk away, the expressions on the Lockets’ faces darkened.
If they had still held onto any hope before, now they were almost certain of the truth.
At this point, the one who didn’t want to divorce wasn’t Celeste—it was Trevor.
From what they had just overheard, it was obvious that Celeste and the people around her were eager for Trevor to hurry up and finalize the divorce.
The realization left the Locket family silent for a long time.
Wynn clenched her fists tightly, saying nothing.
