After hanging up, Wynn exchanged a few polite words with Jorge, then turned and got into her car to leave.

For the rest of the afternoon, the Lockets and the Shaws were buzzing with excitement and joy. To be honest, Wynn felt the same— even if she looked calm and composed on the surface.

Around five in the evening, Wynn’s phone buzzed. Everyone immediately turned their attention toward her.

After she read the message, Linda quickly asked, “Is Trev coming to pick you up?”

“No. He just texted to ask if I needed someone to pick me up,” Wynn said.

Even though Trevor didn’t show up in person, neither Wynn nor the Lockets nor the Shaws thought much of it. After all, the best surprises tended to show up in the most ordinary moments.
