The Breaking Point of Love / The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife — Chapter 562
On Friday night, Celeste received a call from Jordyn saying she wanted to come over.
At the time, Celeste was having dinner at the Rodriguez residence.
Before Celeste could even respond, Betty had already agreed for her.
The next day, Celeste went out with Jordyn and the rest of the Rodriguez family. They didn’t return until evening.
Jordyn was still bursting with energy. Even after playing the entire day, she remained excited on the car ride home. Holding her phone, she leaned toward Celeste. “Mom, next time I want to go back and play with the little turtle!”
The photos she showed were of them catching and bathing the turtle together.
Celeste glanced at them. “Mm.”
Jordyn wasn’t tired, but Celeste definitely was. Maybe sensing it, Jordyn sat quietly for a moment and said, “Mom, you can rest if you’re tired.”
Then she immediately went back to fiddling with her phone—clearly chatting with someone.
Celeste looked at her briefly, then looked away.
Jordyn had sent a bunch of photos from the day to Trevor.
At that moment, Trevor had just finished dinner with Wynn.
When the photos came in, he opened them right away.
Wynn came out of the restroom and paused when she saw him looking at his phone.
The photos included both Jordyn and Celeste, but Celeste was the one who stood out—she was smiling brightly and looked stunning.
Trevor seemed to be looking at the photos of Jordyn, but Wynn could tell he had zoomed in—and the person he was actually looking at was Celeste.
Noticing her return, Trevor put his phone down. “You’re back.”
“Mm. Let’s go.” Wynn kept her expression neutral. Picking up her bag, she asked casually, “Those were from Jordyn? She looks really happy today.”
“Yeah. They went to a resort,” Trevor said as they walked out of the private room. While doing so, he sent a voice message to Jordyn:
“The photos are great. But no matter how happy you are, you still have class tomorrow.”
Jordyn pouted when she heard the message but still replied, “I know.”
Then Wynn suddenly took Trevor’s hand. “Trevor, there’s somewhere I want to go tomorrow. Will you come with me?”
He paused. “When?”
“In the morning,” she said with a soft smile. “Can you skip seeing Jordyn just this once?”
Trevor didn’t ask where she wanted to go, nor did he think twice about it. “Okay.”
After that, he sent Jordyn another voice message telling her he couldn’t take her to class because he had something to handle.
When Jordyn received the message, she turned to Celeste. “Mom, Dad said he’s busy tomorrow and can’t take me to class. Can you take me instead?”
Celeste frowned, but before she could respond, Jordyn had already snuggled into her arms, pleading softly.
Betty saw an opportunity for Celeste to strengthen her bond with Jordyn. “Cel, since you’re free tomorrow, just take her.”
Celeste sighed. “…Fine.”
The next morning, she took Jordyn to class.
Afterward, Jordyn had another activity, and Celeste stayed for that too.
That evening, they returned to the Rodriguez residence for dinner. After the meal, Jordyn was supposed to go back to Trevor’s place since it was closer to school.
But when she called him, he said he was out of town and wouldn’t be back that night. He told her to stay at the Rodriguez residence instead.
