The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 561
On Monday morning, she woke up early.
Just as she was about to head out, Trevor sent a message:
“I have something to handle this morning. I’ll confirm the time with you later.”
Celeste replied, “Okay.”
Back at the office, she worked through the morning but kept an eye on her phone.
Nothing came through until a little after two.
“I’ll head over soon. I should arrive a bit after three. Does that work for you?”
Celeste responded, “That’s fine.”
Trevor didn’t reply again—likely busy with work.
Celeste still had a few tasks left, but she stopped, tidied up her desk, grabbed her bag, and got ready to leave.
Just then, Kieran walked over and saw her packing up. Surprised, he asked, “Heading out somewhere?”
Celeste answered calmly, “I have something to take care of. We’ll talk when I’m back.”
Kieran nearly agreed, but suddenly remembered she didn’t have any external meetings today.
And she rarely stepped out for personal matters.
He’d been quietly keeping track of her divorce situation. He knew she still hadn’t finalized it because the other party was always too busy.
Realization hit him, and before he could stop himself, he blurted out, “You’re… going to the courthouse?”
Celeste hadn’t expected him to guess so accurately. Her steps paused for a moment, then she simply hummed in acknowledgment and walked away.
Watching her leave, Kieran’s chest tightened. He wanted to follow her.
He’d always been curious about that man.
But after taking a few steps, he stopped. Ever since she learned about his feelings, Celeste had been keeping her distance unless it was strictly work-related.
If she knew he’d followed her out of curiosity, she would definitely be angry.
So he stayed where he was and returned to his desk.
About ten minutes after Celeste arrived at the courthouse, Trevor rushed in.
“Sorry,” he said, slightly breathless. “The meeting ran over by more than ten minutes. I’m late.”
Seeing the travel fatigue on his face, Celeste could tell he really had been busy.
She didn’t comment—just said evenly, “Let’s go in and get it done.”
Trevor nodded. “Okay.”
Throughout the entire process, his phone didn’t stop ringing.
When it was time to sign, Celeste waited several minutes because he had to finish a call first.
He was literally squeezing this divorce in between meetings.
Once everything was completed and the divorce application submitted, Celeste turned to leave.
Trevor said, “I’ve got some things to handle. I’ll contact you later when I have time.”
There was nothing left for them to contact each other about.
To her, that line was just polite filler.
She gave a faint hum, turned, got into her car, and drove away from the courthouse.
Over the next two days, Celeste was buried in work.
On Thursday, she went to the Fleming Group for another meeting.
Trevor wasn’t there.
But when she and Lazarus headed out for lunch, they spotted Trevor downstairs—with Wynn.
Wynn was holding his arm, the two standing close, laughing and chatting with someone.
Lazarus, seeing how intimate they looked, let out a quiet smile. “Mr. Fleming and Ms. Locket—you two seem as affectionate as ever.”
Since they were clearly discussing business, no one approached them.
Wynn, however, noticed Celeste almost instantly. Her gaze, as usual, was cold and condescending.
She and Trevor had been inseparable for days. He still treated her incredibly well.
And now, he had even gone through another round of divorce procedures with Celeste—for her.
That said enough.
Even if Trevor had once developed some feelings for Celeste, Wynn was still the one he truly cared for, the one he could never let go of.
No one could shake her place in his heart.
Sensing Wynn’s stare, Celeste didn’t react.
Just then, Trevor also spotted her.
But before he could say a word, Celeste had already turned away—expression unreadable—and got into the car with Lazarus and the others, leaving without looking back.
