The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 559
That day, Celeste and Matthias worked late before finally leaving the office.
When Celeste returned to the Rodriguez residence, she spent some time chatting with Betty. As soon as she went upstairs, several new messages from Jordyn popped up on her phone.
When she opened them, she saw photos—pictures of Jordyn with Trevor, Beck, and Miles at the hot springs.
Then came a voice message.
“Mom, I’m at the hot springs with Dad and the others! What are you doing, Mom?”
Celeste replied,
“I’m about to take a shower. Have fun, sweetheart.”
After sending that, she put her phone aside and headed to shower.
Once she finished, she read for a bit and did some research. By the time she started feeling tired and was getting ready for bed, her phone buzzed again.
Another message from Jordyn.
Celeste opened it. This time it was an indoor photo. In the center of the image were three straw dragonflies.
But what caught her attention wasn’t the dragonflies—it was the handbag and the suit jacket laid neatly on the bed beside them.
She recognized the handbag immediately. She’d seen Wynn use it before—a limited-edition Hermès worth well into seven figures.
Jordyn probably hadn’t noticed those details and sent another voice message.
“Mom, Dad and Mr. Harper made these dragonflies for me! Aren’t they pretty?”
Celeste replied simply,
“Mm, they’re beautiful.”
Jordyn must’ve been in high spirits, because a moment later, she initiated a voice call.
Celeste hesitated briefly before answering.
“Mom!”
Just as Celeste was about to respond, Trevor’s voice came through faintly in the background:
“Still not showering?”
“Wait a minute, Dad. I want to talk to Mom first.”
Trevor chuckled. “Alright.”
Before Jordyn could continue, Wynn’s voice suddenly cut in:
“Jo? Didn’t you say you were going to shower? Why haven’t you gone yet?”
Maybe because she knew Celeste disliked Wynn, Jordyn immediately fell silent.
Celeste spoke then, her voice gentle but steady.
“It’s getting late, sweetheart. You should go shower now. We’ll talk another time.”
Jordyn sounded a bit disappointed but listened anyway.
“Okay…”
And the call ended.
They had said they’d talk again soon, but over the next two days, Jordyn didn’t call Celeste at all.
On Saturday night, Zachary happened to be off work.
That evening, Celeste arrived at a restaurant to meet Zachary, Nadine, and Matthias. She had just pulled in when Matthias arrived as well.
But as they stepped out of their cars, they spotted the Lockets and the Shaws.
When Linda saw Celeste, she immediately remembered how Trevor had “missed” the divorce decision period yet again because he was “busy.”
Which meant Trevor and Celeste still weren’t divorced.
Her mood soured instantly.
With a harsh little snort, she hooked her arm through Lilian’s and said loudly—very loudly—
“Aunt Lizzy, isn’t your wedding anniversary with Uncle Harvey coming up soon? He ran late today because he went to pick up the custom-made gift he ordered for you.”
“I heard it’s worth at least ten million! Uncle Harvey really loves you—he never forgets to spoil you every year.”
Celeste’s expression didn’t change, but Matthias’s eyes darkened with contained anger.
Just then, another car pulled into the parking lot.
The doors opened, and Trevor and Wynn stepped out.
Linda’s face lit up smugly. She deliberately raised her voice, practically calling across the lot,
“Wynn! Trev! You two are here!”
