The Breaking Point of Love / The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife — Chapter 555
There were so many profitable projects happening, yet they couldn’t get in on any of them—all they could do was watch from the sidelines. Luther was envious, but not truly complaining.
After all, as long as Trevor and Wynn’s relationship stayed stable, there would be plenty of opportunities to make money in the future. There was no need to rush.
Everyone there understood that.
But there was something else they were far more worried about now.
According to the news, Trevor still had a lot to handle and wouldn’t be able to return home anytime soon.
Patricia couldn’t help voicing her concern. “Trevor… he won’t miss the end of the decision period, right?”
Even Lilian frowned—a rare sight. She wasn’t panicked, but letting things drag out like this wasn’t ideal for their family either.
Erin asked Wynn quietly, “Wynn, what did Trevor say?”
Pulled from her thoughts, Wynn answered honestly, “He said he’s not sure.”
Both the Lockets and the Shaws grew even more uneasy.
Finally, Patricia let out a sigh. “Once he finishes his work, he’ll definitely rush back as soon as he can. Hopefully… he makes it in time. There’s still half a month left.”
Wynn lowered her gaze and said nothing.
Since Trevor wouldn’t be returning anytime soon, Celeste assumed he would reach out once things settled down to finalize their divorce.
So in the following days, she simply went on with her routine.
Work had been overwhelmingly busy lately—so busy she barely had time to think about anything else.
By the time she finally caught her breath, another week had passed. Now there was only about a week left before the decision period ended.
Celeste checked the time, then looked at Jordyn, who was lying on the bed playing a game.
“Jo,” she called softly.
Jordyn looked up. “Mom? What is it?”
Celeste hesitated before asking, “Did your dad… say when he’s coming back?”
Jordyn shook her head. “I just asked him tonight. Dad said not yet.”
Celeste fell silent.
“Mom?” Jordyn asked.
“It’s nothing. It’s getting late. Go to bed soon.”
“Okay!”
Even though Jordyn said Trevor wasn’t coming back anytime soon, Celeste still wanted to know the exact timeline.
After Jordyn fell asleep, Celeste sent Trevor a message:
“When are you coming back to the country?”
Because of the time difference, she didn’t get a reply until noon the next day.
“Still can’t confirm yet.”
There weren’t many days left. If he couldn’t confirm now, then when could he?
Just as she was about to ask again, another message came through.
“I’ll let you know as soon as I can confirm my time.”
The same line—again.
Celeste set her phone down without replying.
Trevor didn’t send another message either.
After that, neither of them reached out.
Maybe he really was too busy.
The next few days passed in complete silence between them.
Then came the very last day of their divorce decision period.
When Matthias saw Celeste arrive at the office early that morning, he immediately understood that she hadn’t finalized the divorce with Trevor yet.
Seeing how downcast she looked, he tried to comfort her. “There’s still time. Maybe he’ll fly back this afternoon.”
Celeste hoped so too.
But as the hours crawled by, she checked her phone over and over.
When the clock hit five, there was still no message from Trevor.
