The Breaking Point of Love or The Zillionaire’s Abandoned Wife Chapter 548
Xavier had seen it too. But both of them only caught a glimpse of the woman’s back. They never saw her face clearly.
Even so, Jorge instinctively assumed the figure was Wynn. After all, Wynn was very close to Trevor’s daughter.
After taking a few more glances and watching Jordyn happily throw herself into that person’s arms, he looked away.
He turned to Xavier. “Let’s go.”
Xavier had also assumed the woman was Wynn. Hearing Jorge’s reaction, he was a little surprised. “You’re not going to say hi?”
Jorge didn’t explain. He simply repeated, calm and unreadable, “Let’s go.”
And with that, they left.
On the other side, Celeste hadn’t noticed them at all.
Meanwhile, at the Locket residence, it was already five in the afternoon.
Wynn picked up her phone and called Trevor, planning to ask him out for dinner. The call went through, but no one answered.
Twenty minutes passed. Still nothing. She held her phone quietly for a moment, then set it down without calling again.
After a while, she went downstairs to get something to drink.
Just as she reached the first floor, Lilian and Erin walked in from their outing.
Wynn greeted them. “You’re back.”
Lilian hummed a response as she set down her bag. Then she noticed Wynn was still in the same casual pajamas she had worn that morning.
“You’ve been home all day? Didn’t go out?”
“No.”
Neither Lilian nor Erin mentioned running into Celeste and Trevor at the restaurant earlier. They had simply assumed the three of them had gone out together and naturally figured Wynn was already aware of it.
So they kept quiet about it.
Still, seeing her daughter alone at home—clearly in low spirits—Lilian couldn’t help thinking of that family-of-three lunch. Her heart ached for Wynn.
But she didn’t bring it up. Instead, she gently patted her daughter’s shoulder and offered soft reassurance. “Just give it a little more time. Things will get better.”
Once Trevor and Celeste officially divorced, Lilian believed, even with a child involved, there would no longer be a reason for the two to meet privately.
Wynn assumed her mother was talking about the divorce, which had been weighing heavily on her these days.
She didn’t say much—just answered quietly, “Mm.”
When she went back upstairs and saw Trevor still hadn’t replied, she hesitated for a long moment before calling him again.
Still no answer.
After a pause, she tried calling Jordyn. Jordyn didn’t pick up either.
At that very moment, Celeste and Trevor were still busy with the winemaking. Afterwards, they stayed for dinner at the orchard.
Jordyn had had an amazing day.
There were plenty of fun activities around the orchard, and she was excited to stay overnight—especially after hearing the stars would be especially bright tonight. She wanted to watch them from the rooftop.
But Celeste wasn’t on board. “I didn’t bring a change of clothes,” she said. “Next time.”
Before she could close the discussion, Trevor spoke up. “If you need clothes, Peter can bring some.”
“Yeah!” Jordyn chimed in, her eyes sparkling. “Dad and I didn’t bring any either, but someone can get them for us—it’s super fast!”
Celeste was speechless. She glanced at Trevor, slightly frowning.
Trevor poured her a glass of water and said with a faint smile, “You’ve been busy with work lately, haven’t you? Why not take this chance to relax?”
Celeste frowned again.
Was that really the issue here?
